Because it's a VOIP system it needs to interact with a cable/fiber modem to route packets accordingly, and in my experience, there are often settings on the modem that aren't configured correctly and troubleshooting between our VOIP vendor and our INET vendor can be cumbersome with each saying an issue is on the other "side". This is my first experience with a VOIP system so I don't have anything to compare it to. That being said, the user interface is atrocious. It looks like it was built in 1999 and is not intuitive in the least. I really, really struggled with it in the beginning and my users have not adopted the individual user interface at all because it is so clunky and awkward. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It's a great option for schools and hospitals. You have some of the cloud based options of more standard PBXs while still having a local phone system when the internet goes down. The starbox can act as an onsite PBX that continues to keep your phones locally functional. Outside of that, the call center options are easy to use to and effective. The StarBox requires periodic reboots. Unlike a traditional cloud PBX, you are required to have equipment that is on site and will need to be maintained.

Software is pretty easy to use. The interface is user-friendly and you don't need to be a genius programmer to configure extensions or system settings correctly. I also like that your outgoing calls via computer or cell phone (if properly set up this way) will display the company caller ID and will keep your landline/cell number private. The softphone features are a bit limited, and there are some bugs with using the StarPhone app (cell phone). The audio functions are hard to get used to when you have a call that comes in over your regular cellular line. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
