What do you like best about OpenText Silk Central?

Testing cycles are the best way to manage and run a manual test campaign to validate any product requirements, detect bugs and regressions in order to fix them before delivering any version to our clients.

Plus, you can integrate silk central with Issue tracking software ( such as JIRA ) and requirement management tools ( such as Caliber or JIRA also )

Web services are available if you need to implement any integration between silk and other products Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenText Silk Central?

-Silk might get slow if your project is getting huge. ( once we reach ~ 50 000 requirements, ~47000 test case ...)

You can separate this huge project to multiple ones in order to prevent these performance issues

-You have the ability to customize you test cases, but you don't have the ability to easily customize your test cases within a testing cycle. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering OpenText Silk Central:

I recommend silk to other companies to use it for QL5 manual test campaign, easy to use and can be integrated with an issue tracking software to follow up on the detected bugs and regressions,

To note that Silk Central Test management can also be used for automated tests but we only use it from manual ones. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is OpenText Silk Central solving and how is that benefiting you?

Business problem resolutions : Silk central will allow you to filter any regression, bugs, etc. detected in your manual test campaign that Quality control team runs on Silk. A failed test should be fixed before merging your development into your product mainstream.

We won't lose our client trust since we are detecting regressions and bugs before delivering them to our clients. This will allow us to deliver real increments, real valuable patches and fixes.
