I can never find it! It’s not intuitive. Reasonable HR/Payroll software **Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Airlines/Aviation | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** August 27, 2025 **What do you like best about Employment Hero?** The app and website for the HR side is reasonably well designed for use as a regular employee who is dealing with only their own leave requests, expense claims, etc. **What do you dislike about Employment Hero?** The way in which the HR and payroll side integrate with each other is a bit lacking, and far from seamless. There's information not copying across correctly between the two, settings and fields that are totally different/look different between the two. You can really tell this was two bits of software sloppily retrofitted to interact with each other, rather than actually built together to work together or apart. Another major pet peeve is that in finalised payruns in the Payroll side, you can't easily see or download attached receipts for the expense reimbursements claimed for that payrun. In non-finalised payruns, you can at least filter by "approved but not processed", but once it's finalised, you can only filter by the date the expense was submitted, not by the date of the payrun in which it was reimbursed. For the HR side, a lot of the navigation on the website is clunky for admins/managers who need to look at other employees and their submissions/claims/leave requests/etc. It seems reasonably designed for navigation as a regular employee, for your own things, but becomes more complicated for admins/managers/HR staff dealing with other people's info/submissions. **What problems is Employment Hero solving and how is that benefiting you?** ...Not having payroll software? Easy to train staff on platform. Easily to integrate into daily tasks. Easy to implement into policy. Easy to ensure frequency of use is maintained due to functionality. **What do you dislike about Employment Hero?** Compliance features lacking. Certain processes like incident reporting could be improved with customised reports, ability to add notes or updates to incidents without 'reviewing' or 'editing'. Shadow administrators on EH accounts should have the ability to influence all aspects of the platform without appearing in reports. We have multiple companies to manage, not connected to each other. I want to see to-do lists of employees at a glance. The tasks of the staff, so I can push them to complete. Checklist settings cannot be assigned to admin not on the staff list either. We need this functionality. There should be a way to easily see who is a registered first aid respondant or an emergancy warden at a glance from the roster view both on EH web and EH Work app, in emergency situations, this would improve evacuation procedures. Workflows need more work and do not function as intended currently. They are buggy. Document templates could use a copy and paste functionality. We have to duplicate settings across 5 businesses. If you could just copy the source code template built, and paste it over that would save us days. One day I would love more safety focused features. A SDS Chemical Register management system. Improved Asset Registers, where we can add detailed machinery specifications, and request detailed WHS related documents per asset through the EH Work application (pre-start checks, maintenance requirements etc). **What problems is Employment Hero solving and how is that benefiting you?** If the workflows section can be ironed out, and implemented better and working properly, it will streamline our expenses approval/deny process. ### 42.
