What do you like best about BambooHR?

I think the best thing about BambooHR is how simple it is, along with its clean UI. I can usually find what I’m looking for pretty quickly. For example, I mainly use BambooHR to book time off or check my team’s vacations, and I can do that in just a couple of simple clicks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BambooHR?

It’s relatively small, but the login process can be annoying. I don’t like that when I’m signing in from a new device, I have to enter the company space again. It just adds more friction to getting on the platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about BambooHR?

UI/UX: I can quickly see all the information about my team (salary, holidays, and so on). However, my organization chart takes a long time to load.

Integrations: I’ve tried to link Bamboo to other interfaces, but it isn’t that easy, partly because of personal information. In practice, I mainly use it to connect to my Google Calendar so my team’s vacations appear there, which helps me manage my work each week.

Pricing/ROI: Honestly, I don’t know how much my organization pays for this tool.

Support/Onboarding: The tool is user-friendly, but sometimes I don’t receive updates about documents I need to sign or other related topics. It would be helpful to have clearer guidance on how to navigate the platform.

AI/Intelligence: I don’t see any AI tools available in Bamboo, but it would be helpful to have also information regarding this and how can we leverage AI-powered capabilities in Bamboo Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BambooHR?

UI / UX: limited customization, navigation can break down with complex data and some features are hard to find (AI could help here).

Integrations: it could help to develop this. The only integration I use is with google but it seems like it does not have a lot of integrations available.

What I like best about BambooHR is how it centralizes all employee information in one place. Managing time-off requests, performance reviews, and onboarding processes from a single platform has streamlined my daily workflow significantly. The drag-and-drop interface makes generating reports quick and easy, saving me several hours each week. The mobile app is also a great bonus — I can approve leave requests on the go without needing to be at my desk. What do you like best about BambooHR?

I like that with BambooHR, I can easily search for emails without having to ask people for their addresses; I just put their name in. I also appreciate the convenience of being able to ask for permissions directly through the app, which means I don't have to write long emails explaining why I need time off—I just enter the day I need, and they approve it or not. Additionally, the initial setup was really easy for me; my company made me an account, and I only needed to put in my personal info to start using it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BambooHR?

I wish there was an option so I don't have to enter my password like 8 times a day. Every time I go out of the Google window where I have BambooHR, it automatically closes, and I have to put the password again and again. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about BambooHR?

I find that BambooHR really helps us connect with people in the organization, being a good portal to connect with my managers and peers. The leave management system is the best feature for me because it's so easy to apply for a leave. I appreciate not having to manually go to managers, which saves time, as I can apply online and have a good management portal to see all my current leaves, upcoming holidays, and everything else. I also found the onboarding process via BambooHR straightforward, as I was given a set of questions and easily answered them, with details still being reflected in my profile. What do you dislike about BambooHR?

I would say being more in touch with the peers might be an additional benefit, like chatting and all. That I have not been able to explore yet. And if that is there, then make it more visible so that it's obvious that I can use that feature. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about BambooHR?

A few things have changed since my original review worth noting. We actually downgraded from the Pro Package to the Core Plan; not because of any dissatisfaction, but because we stopped using annual performance reviews and weren't utilizing Employee Community, so it simply didn't make sense to pay for features we weren't using. BambooHR made that transition easy with no drama.

What I want to add is this: the longer I use BambooHR, the more convinced I am that it's the right platform. The ATS continues to be one of my favorite features—I genuinely love it. Onboarding, offboarding, time off reporting, centralized employee data... it all runs smoothly and consistently, which matters enormously when you're a department of one supporting a fully remote team.

I also want to double down on something I said before about customer service. Every single interaction I've had has been with someone kind, genuine, and helpful. Even when the issue turned out to be my own user error which, I'll admit, happens more than I'd like. They've never once made me feel like a bother. That consistency says a lot about their culture.

What do you dislike about BambooHR?

Dislike' still feels like too strong a word. There's nothing about BambooHR that I truly dislike.

A couple of small frustrations remain—the setup process for signature documents and some text fields within the job posting feature could be more intuitive. But these are minor quirks, not deal-breakers, and I've learned to work with them. I'm also confident they'll improve over time given how responsive BambooHR is to feedback.

Since my last review, we did downgrade from the Pro Plan to the Core Plan. We weren't using Employee Community, we moved away from annual performance reviews, and it just didn't make sense to keep paying for features that weren't getting used. Honestly? The downgrade was the right call and BambooHR made it painless.

Core covers everything we actually need, and I'd rather be on a plan where I'm genuinely using what I'm paying for. If anything, I'd still love to see more à la carte flexibility in their pricing structure someday but that's a wish, not a complaint. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Additionally, certain functionalities—such as payroll or advanced integrations—may require additional modules or third-party tools, which can increase overall costs. What do you like best about BambooHR?

The interface is clean and pretty intuitive once you get the hang of it. Employee records, time off tracking, and onboarding workflows are all in one place which makes things way easier to manage. The self-service portal for employees is also a big plus -- saves a lot of back and forth with HR. Overall the UX is solid and the reporting features are decent, we use it mainly for tracking headcount and time-off balances and it does that really well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BambooHR?

The pricing can be a bit steep especially for smaller teams, and some of the more advanced features are locked behind higher tier plans. The payroll module feels a bit disconnected from the rest of the platform and took some time to setup properly. Also the mobile app is functional but its not quite as polished as the desktop version -- some things just dont translate that well on smaller screens. What do you like best about BambooHR?

The user interface is intuitive, and it’s easy to navigate. The Employee Self-Service portal is a game-changer because it empowers employees to manage their own information and submit time-off requests, which significantly reduces the administrative burden on my end. What do you like best about BambooHR?

How easy it is to apply for vacation, sickness, of child sickness. I really like how easy the review system is it's not complicated and straight to the point. Great that Google login is integrated this allows us to not have endless accounts for each platform. I do not use it frequently but I see that as a pro that I don't have to go constantly to fix things up. It's also amazing how easy it is to integrate it with calendar apps. What do you dislike about BambooHR?

I think having a description like a hover description over possible leaves etc would be a game changer. As a new person starting it can be overwhelming seeing a lot of different leaves so it would be great to be able to hover or press and see when to apply for what Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
