**What do you like best about Samsara?**

I'm excited about the agent feature and how it automatically pulls from data sources to get the information needed out of reports. It's great to be able to correlate with other reports without having to team them up outside in Excel or something. Samsara really helps with safety compliance, fleet maintenance, and preventative maintenance schedules. I think the products are good, but I really appreciate the support I get from the people that help me out with Samsara.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

I think Samsara needs to have a safety management system that manages OSHA and claims management stuff inside of it. Being able to correlate crash information, videos, potential costs, and wear and tear of vehicles with a safety management system would also let us look at root causes, trending disciplines, and other issues the drivers face, giving a more complete picture of employee performance. Handling tasks like filing OSHA logs and IMSA paperwork would reduce the number of software we use by two, offering cost savings.

**What problems is Samsara solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Samsara addresses my safety compliance and supports our fleet maintenance and preventative maintenance schedules.

I like how it has so many different uses and how they have integrated different AI tools to help us out with maintenance and vehicle inspections , and this helps us with the performance of our coworkers and for us to provide better support to our drivers

Sometimes it has some lag and the pricing is high but its definitely an every day tool we use

The ability to locate our drivers and also help them out with all the mechanical issues , since it has the integrations for reading codes we can identify problems quicker and help out , also with preventive maintenance and the UI/UX skills also help out a lot

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

I really appreciate how Samsara combines so many systems we need into one platform. It's great having a single platform that pulls all the data together. The mobile app is very helpful, making it easy to see where our fleet is at any time. I also like that it can coach drivers on improvements while rewarding them for things done well. The initial setup went really well, with a great installation team, and we could schedule demo sessions throughout the week, which was very convenient. We also had live support available for any questions.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

I wish that it was faster to get video recordings. That's one part that does seem to lack, especially when you are in a critical moment where there's been an accident or a severe event on the bus, the flag time to get the video footage back can feel excessive.

I use Samsara to track vehicles easily and coach drivers to improve and reward good performance, simplifying fleet management.

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

I like how with Samsara, we can just send off live links to clients so they don't have to keep asking us 24/7 about the whereabouts of specific units. This feature allows them to receive real-time information, which means they can see how things are going in real time. It's also really helpful because it stops clients from constantly calling, emailing, or messaging us about that specific issue, which allows us to use our time more efficiently on other problems. Plus, the initial setup of Samsara was pretty easy, without any big struggle.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

One of the big issues for us is that we get notified a lot about how our drivers are paying attention on the road. Most of the time, these notifications are correct, like when it's about phone usage. But sometimes they say they're distracted when in reality, we handle a lot of oversize loads where our routes are very limited. So, when they're checking the permits, it shows that they're not looking on the road, and then it causes them to send us alerts quite often.

**What problems is Samsara solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Samsara provides real-time updates on vehicle and asset locations, offering clients live links to track them. This reduces frequent inquiries, allowing us to address other issues and use our time efficiently.

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

I like that any data I need is right there at the tip of my fingers, especially for past due training assignments. I can quickly run a report and get a list of drivers with overdue training. I also like that we have lifetime video access of our drivers, which is something I appreciate greatly. It's helpful to know exactly where our technicians or superintendents are, and it allows us to dispatch them where needed. Additionally, having supportive agents is key for me. They resolve any confusions, especially with reporting, efficiently with just a quick call. It's really valuable to have easy and clear communication with them.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

I what I would say is there were some past due assignments that were, like, past due from a year ago. I was hoping to get that removed or pushed back with one click of a button, but now I would have to go through each profile, each driver, each date, and remove past due training. Which it would have been more efficient if I was able to just clear them all at once.

**What problems is Samsara solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Samsara for tracking gas usage, video camera footage, and driver safety. It gives quick access to data, helps run reports, and offers lifetime video, which improves safety and operations.

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

I really like Samsara for its ease of use and traceability of all my fleet assets. The camera view from my drivers' vehicles is also a great feature as it allows me to see what they're seeing, which is super helpful. Additionally, I found the setup to be super simple after the initial install.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

There have been a couple of times where the tracking hasn't been 100% accurate and where it doesn't register a finished stop. Areas where there isn't great signal seem to be the worst times. The initial install was a bit hard to get completed with the tractors in our fleet.

I use Samsara to track my fleet assets and drivers, helping me follow routes and monitor equipment locations. It's easy to see all driver activity, and the camera view is useful for seeing what my drivers see. I enjoy being able to support my drivers by seeing exactly where they are.

I really appreciate the night mode and the reliability of Samsara. The reliability has been one of the biggest benefits for our team because it provides accurate real-time information. This feature helps us monitor shipments and vehicle activity effectively, allowing us to communicate updates more confidently and respond quickly when issues arise. The initial setup of Samsara was straightforward as the platform is intuitive. The onboarding process was easy, and the user-friendly interface helped reduce the learning curve, enabling our team to start using it without much delay.

Sometimes the sensors on our trailers ping wrongly on pickup/loaded times. The issue is usually related to delayed sensor updates rather than the sensor completely failing. We've noticed it more often when trailers are in locations with weaker coverage or have been stationary for long periods. It doesn't happen frequently, but it can occasionally create a need for manual confirmation of the trailer's status.

1. Cost can add up quickly
Samsara isn’t cheap—between hardware, subscriptions, and add-ons (like AI cameras), the total cost can escalate fast, especially for larger fleets.

2. Contract lock-ins
They often require long-term contracts, which can be frustrating if your needs change or you want flexibility.

3. Camera sensitivity / false alerts
AI dash cams can sometimes be overly sensitive—triggering alerts for things like rolling stops, harsh braking, or distractions that aren’t always serious. This can create “alert fatigue.”

4. Driver pushback
Some drivers don’t like the level of monitoring, especially inward-facing cameras. It can feel intrusive and hurt morale if not handled well.

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

I primarily use Samsara to monitor our work fleet and to perform quarterly inspections on our operators, making sure they’re following work protocols and the rules of the road. I really like the UI Samsara provides because it’s easy to navigate and very self-explanatory. Overall, Samsara has also been very dependable for us. My favorite feature is the event trigger. Samsara will alert you to high speed usage, rolling stops, phone usage detection and even harsh braking. When an event occurs—the AI automatically saves a short clip (typically 10-20 seconds before and after the event) and uploads it to your cloud dashboard and to our designated Slack channel. This saves us a lot of pain points when it comes to safety monitoring.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

Unfortunately, like any application, there are some downsides. I sometimes run into lag, app freezes, and occasional random sign-outs during the workday. ELD updates can also cause temporary sync issues or make the app feel sluggish on mobile devices. I also wish we could retrieve video from further back than two weeks prior.

**What problems is Samsara solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Samsara is most helpful for continuously recording both road-facing and driver-facing footage to internal storage while the engine is on, and for the ability to remotely request unuploaded footage or hyperlapse video directly from the camera’s internal storage. I’m also very fond of the GPS tracking and seeing the driver’s route plotted on the map.

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

I appreciate the live feed and how quickly it updates, providing a real-time GPS that helps inform the customer of an order on the way and ensures a smooth process for unloading the truck. The live feed also alerts me to potential traffic on the route, weather conditions like rain, and assists in navigating the driver to the right area. The initial setup for Samsara was very easy, even our older driver who isn't tech-savvy was able to set everything up and understand it.

Some of the dash cams seem to trigger false positives, which turns into a whole ordeal with the driver having to explain themselves to the team back at the warehouse. Sometimes there are hiccups with data accuracy, and the locations are sometimes a little off. But more often than not it is spot on.

Samsara gives me real-time updates on driver locations and delivery times, helping inform customers and ensure smooth unloading. The live feed helps navigate drivers by alerting to traffic or weather issues.

We've refined some of the tools and resources available to better fit our needs. We wanted to avoid being overwhelmed by excessive data, so we've narrowed our focus to the most critical information and features that provide the greatest value to our company.

One of the biggest problems Samsara has helped solve is employee accountability. It allows us to verify that company protocols are being followed and helps reinforce safe driving habits. At the end of the day, our main goal is keeping our employees safe, and Samsara has been a valuable tool in helping us achieve that.

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

The ability to coach live from my phone.  Connect in real time to the vehicle directly.  And the DVIR. We were using manual forms this addition has been such a blessing.  If only I could link our preferred maintenance vendors to the DVIR's for repair in real time based on location

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

Drowsy alerts. We get these alerts while techs are adjusting in the seat or something very minor.

**What problems is Samsara solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Samsara has been at the branch level for quite sometime. Diving into it's uses has aided our branch tremendously. Our safety score has gone from the 70's to mid 90's. It's created a safety standard by the guys know ill receive an alert.

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

I like using Samsara for tracking tools and downloading videos to use as training aids. We record events like near misses, such as hitting an animal or someone running a stop sign, and then download those videos for safety meetings each week. It helps us show people real-time scenarios and what's actually happening out there. We also use it to coach behaviors, like speeding on certain roads in the country, and different types of driving.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

Sometimes trying to figure out the different settings to change tags for individuals or vehicles seems challenging. There's not a direct way to proceed with changing tags or knowing who can see what tags regarding the roles. The biggest issue we faced during setup was comprehending the tags and the structure we wanted people to follow to be able to review or download videos or have access, not just for the drivers but also for the hierarchy like the driver supervisor and then the supervisor's regional manager.

I use Samsara to monitor activities for risk behaviors and as a coaching tool, utilizing tracking tools and video downloads to aid in safety training.

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

What I like most is how easy the software is to use. The way it interacts with everything else is also very helpful and makes tasks feel more seamless. On top of that, being able to search for exactly what I need using the AI is an amazing tool.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

I’ve had issues logging in to the Samsara Forest app. To get it working again, I had to completely remove the app from my phone and then reinstall it.

Being able to confirm we stay compliant each month, while also ensuring all drivers are accountable for their trips and any violations.

Samsara is Very economical for a business the UI is very easy to understand samsara’s Tracking data is very accurate and good all the feature in the app is very good

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

Samsara is a good software the only thing is missing is that the samsara sometimes shows the ping of later in the time but the asset is at a different location but it not generally happens just 1 or 2 instant

It is very economical and I got almost everything at a single place I don’t need multiple software’s to toggle I got everything on samsara like tracking asset location

I really enjoy the cameras. They help us see what actually happened during accidents and let us review it accurately. Samsara also aids in tracking our vehicles and improving our safety scores. The tool helps keep our drivers under their correct hours for DOT reporting, which is quite beneficial. Additionally, the setup itself is pretty easy, which was great for us.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

I think sometimes when there are serious accidents and the windshield breaks, the camera gets disconnected, or the unit can't be found, you'd lose that opportunity for the video footage. That's happened to us twice with some major accidents where we would really like to see the video footage.

We've used Samsara for years to track vehicles and safety scores. It helps manage hours of service, DOT reporting, and improves safe driving and accident reviews. The cameras confirm incidents, proving fault or innocence, and boost our driver's scores.

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

I like how the AI focuses on certain aspects whilst driving and notifies the driver of their faults as they happen. I also like how the application makes it easy to review every infraction that comes in. The AI seems to catch drowsiness easily, and it also catches someone on their phone immediately. It catches speeding at a good pace, which is beneficial for us. The initial setup of Samsara was extremely easy initially, and even easier now with experience.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

I think Samsara's AI for speeding could be a little better, seems to only ding when they are about 12-15mph over the posted speed limit.

**What problems is Samsara solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Samsara to monitor vehicle drivers, ensuring they stay on task and drive efficiently. It helps detect if vehicles encounter trouble. The AI notifies drivers of faults and easily reviews infractions, catching drowsiness, phone use, and speeding effectively.

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

I find that Samsara allows me to convert the distance into miles, a feature that our previous providers couldn't offer. This is really helpful since we calculate rates by miles in trucking, and it helps me see how many miles a driver has run for the week or month. Samsara is also one of the most recognizable tracking software in the industry and is relatively cheaper. Plus, the initial setup was pretty easy—not hard at all.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

When I have to get an ETA for a truck, I put the address in the destination, and it just gives us the time, not the total distance.

**What problems is Samsara solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Samsara tracks trucks and log book hours efficiently. I appreciate its ability to convert distance into miles, helping calculate trucking rates and monitor miles per driver.

It help us to track the truck live and we can view previous tracker of truck where truck have been gone ,is our driver is on time for delivery or not ,altho I like to track truck on daily basis

The products and software truly stand on their own. Not really a downside to Samsara. I have enjoyed using their software. Not really sure how to use the Agentic AI or what it is.

Safety with drivers specifically with awareness such as distracted driving, speed control, rolling stops and so forth. Whenever there is an incident such as a rolling stop the drivers want to know about it and want to see the video. They are never combative but wanting to do better. 
One of the reasons wee chose Samsara was the ability to monitor vehicle diagnostics and fuel management. I provide reports to the drivers each month and fuel consumption has gone down with safety being at the forefront as a result. Currently Samsara is working on expanding fuel efficiency readings to better help our fleet.

The downside of Samsara is the online/computer version. After activating a serial number for a asset, you have to go back to the dashboard and re-input all the information back in just to pull up the information on settings to rename the device or asset.

Samsara is helping me solve which assets or devices are making unwanted stops in the morning time. We've used three different systems over my 8 years with our company, and Samsara has by far the best AI and backend portal. Their customer service has also always been great.

The only downside is that the gateway and its wires can be a bit bulky, and so can be hard to tuck away. This leads to occasions where the driver hits the wires with their feet or knees and disconnects the device.

I enjoy the all-in-one place aspect of Samsara because I don't have to run multiple programs to manage our logistics efficiently. It's very convenient to know exactly where a driver is for customer call-ins and efficient routing. The weather overlay on the map is a nice touch. I have my driver logs, GPS confirmation, and assets all there to edit and fix as needed per DOT regulations. The initial setup was fairly simple.

Occasionally the program doesn't allow me to add drive times to a specific driver from the Unassigned HOS Report page. There were a handful, maybe ten, of driving segments I would be unable to place on a driver.

Customer support is quick and is very helpful, but only within their limits.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

The system is missing a lot of options, such as automatic notifications for drivers in the far-left lane and notifications for heavy speeding. The speeding data is available, but you have to dig through the data and search for each speeding event manually instead of having it automated. There are also a lot of false violations, and speed detection can be incorrect because Samsara has the wrong speeds recorded in their system.

Overall, the system doesn’t feel designed to be customized to fit specific client needs; it seems more like a one-size-fits-all setup. Our safety team gets involved with driver violations at different levels, and the review department is the very first step in our process because of how many false violations we see. Once a violation event is touched by anyone, that person is automatically assigned as a coach to the driver for the remainder of their employment, and that default behavior makes it difficult to manage violations appropriately.

Another limitation is the inability to create your own violations when you notice something on the camera that Samsara missed.

Account managers are completely absent from trying to help with any issue. The account manager and his manager (in our case) are both ignoring any of our attempts to reach out for help.

System cannot be integrated with 10Street to keep record of all coaching and training sessions.

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

Samsara’s camera system is what I like best. You can set the requirements based on what your company needs to monitor, and the system also monitors the cameras for you. Being able to use the safety inbox to review different flags is immensely helpful. We can quickly see what drivers are struggling to comply with, send them the snapshot videos, and have a conversation about how to correct it. Every snapshot still needs to be reviewed because AI can make mistakes, but having a clear list of events to review is much easier than going through hours of footage.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

Our company has pilot cars that we use to escort some of our loads. Because their role is different from our drivers, we need the settings on the pickups to be different from the tractors.

I was struggling to change a setting, so I called support. I was told they couldn’t change it because the settings had to be the same as the tractors. I knew that wasn’t right, because our previous manager who oversaw Samsara had the settings set up differently for the tractor versus the pilot car. I went back into the settings and tried again, and I contacted support one more time, but I got the same response.

Later, our company’s Samsara representative reached out to check in. I explained the issue, and she solved it right away. I dislike how confusing the settings can be, and I also didn’t like being told by customer support that changing the settings wasn’t possible when our Samsara rep was able to fix it immediately.

**What problems is Samsara solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Samsara’s tracking and cameras have been benefiting our company by helping us know where our drivers are and how they’re doing on the road. Being able to use the camera system to review footage from both inside and outside the vehicle is a huge help when an incident occurs. The cameras and tracking have also made it possible for us to show that multiple incidents were not our fault, either because we were following the law or because we weren’t in the area when the incident happened. Having the ability to quickly pull up evidence that we’re not at fault is valuable not only for our DOT Safety Rating, but also for our insurance premiums.

I like how easy it is to handle my quarterly IFTA and keep track of my equipment.

The sensitivity of the driver app is a big issue for me. It keeps picking up my drivers’ movement after they’ve clocked out and headed home. It’s also overly sensitive with harsh stops, speeding for a minute and 11 seconds, and “following too closely.”

Another frustration is navigation in the app: when I’m trying to find something and have four pages to go through, it will suddenly revert back to page 1. The reports are also a problem. The timesheet report doesn’t separate the date and time, so I have to add two columns and then hand-enter the time rounded to the closest 15-minute intervals.

And when I have an issue and need help, I seem to get a different person almost every time. They usually don’t read my original complaint or issue and instead just send more videos or articles for me to read. I’m a safety manager, not an IT person. I don’t care about the extra material—just fix it.

The API is straightforward and easy to use, which has been super helpful for our back-office and documentation processes. The app itself is also easy to navigate, and even newer features—like the incoming weather feature—open up great options for our dispatch team to use. Customer support has been personal and professional, and they actively work to address any concerns we have as a company. On top of that, when I need something small, the AI chat feature has actually been pretty helpful. Overall, the performance and access we pay for are well worth it.

At times, it can be challenging to find where a particular feature lives within the app. Some items, like managing email notifications, were only possible by contacting our representative and couldn’t be changed within the app itself. This isn’t a huge issue overall, but it can still be confusing to figure out where a specific setting is located in the menus and what steps are needed to update it.

It solves a lot for us, but the primary ones would be: 
1. A central location where our DVIRs live, and where our drivers can walk through them and record them properly. 
2. Direct access to the current odometer, running state, and location of the vehicle, which helps with dispatch, service management (odometer), tracking time on and off the jobsite, and driver coaching. 
3. Dashcams and crash detection software. For example, we recently had a crash incident and when I went to collect the dashcam footage, it had already detected the incident, captured the appropriate data, and trimmed the video accordingly.

I find Samsara to be very user-friendly and appreciate its extensive functionality. It seems like a best-in-class product where the functionality actually works, and there are very rarely any major outages. I also like that they seem to be expanding their platform.

For us, our delivery times are windows. So they're not actuals. We need to fit a delivery into a time window, say, 9AM to noon. Arriving at 10:30 is not late. It is within that time window. Arriving at 12:01 is late.  The ability to optimize our routes and loads by truck volume and NET route costs ensuring all delivery windows are met, would be INCREDIBLE.

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

What I like best about Samsara is that it just makes my job easier. I don't have to spend time calling drivers for updates because I can see where every vehicle is in real time.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

If I had to point out one downside, it's the pricing. As you add more vehicles or extra features, the cost can add up pretty quickly.

**What problems is Samsara solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before using Samsara, we spent a lot of time calling drivers for updates and trying to figure out where vehicles or equipment were. Now, everything is visible in one place.

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

I like the ease of use on the website. I use this as a secondary tracking measure to ensure the spreadsheets we have are up to date

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

The biggest flaw I see is using the asset tags for true tracking within our local shipyards. Any Samsara-powered device that picks one up creates a ping, and then the system averages its location. Many times, it ends up showing a piece of equipment we own out in the middle of the river, which I believe is due to our tunnel system. I wish that once an asset was detected inside a geofenced location, it would stay assigned to that geofence until it was found elsewhere, instead of averaging all pings and producing an “average” location.

**What problems is Samsara solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We receive an insurance discount due to the tracking ability of our equipment.

What I like the most about Samsara is there easy interface to track fleet and I am also like the crazy part which they provide is Dash cam record feature plus fuel tracking

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

I feel the responsiveness of the tool is not good in small screen devices like phones and tablets this needs to be fixed a little bit

**What problems is Samsara solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Samsara is keeping the records of my trucking business which is making me to focus on other areas of my business. The fuel tracking, check-in check-out feature is amazingly satisfying.

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

I use Samsara for asset tracking and appreciate being able to track all of our assets company-wide. We also use it for maintaining and managing maintenance files and anything asset related. Samsara has helped us streamline our asset management process.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

The app's a little bit different. Instead of being able to link a driver, you have to go through the license manager to get them to connect to training. That's one thing that's kinda frustrating. You should be able to connect them to the license trade in through that feature instead of connecting their profile, going into license management, assigning them a license, then turning around and going to train and be able to assign them that training. If it was connected, it'd be awesome.

**What problems is Samsara solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Samsara for asset tracking across the company and maintaining everything asset-related.

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

I like that Samsara is best in the business for managing work vehicles. It effectively solves issues like technicians speeding, using their phones, and driving recklessly. I also appreciate how easily accessible the programs are. Switching from Lytx to Samsara was because of the noticeable quality difference, and the initial setup was very easy. Everything works really well.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

Nothing. It is all great. We would like it to be a little more sensitive to speed, but it does catch it prior to it being too excessive.

**What problems is Samsara solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Samsara solves technicians speeding, using phones, and driving recklessly. I like the easily accessible programs.

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

I like the flexibility of seeing more than one driver on the road with Samsara, which allows me to check their estimated time of arrival and how far they are before I start planning the next trip. Also, the initial setup of Samsara was very easy for my team.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

The face recognition sometimes flags down drivers with someone else's face recognition, which causes the violation to go to the wrong person.

**What problems is Samsara solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Samsara to keep drivers safe and teach them safety precautions. It allows me to track multiple drivers, see their ETA, and plan trips better.

The complete ecosystem and visibility to all the data, ie the obd2 codes tire pressures and abs codes from the trailers using ag53

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

The fleet app is glitches and doesn't respond like a usual website. If I go to a page then view a safety inbox issue and click back it takes me to the main page again

**What problems is Samsara solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to view the data in the vehicle and accuracy in it, had a trailer randomly throwing an abs light but never when scanned, ag53 picked it up and told me the exact code which lead to a wheelspeed sensor screw missing
