**What do you like best about Samsara?**

I love that I can check on where my drivers are and that it is easy to check on where my fleet is at. I like that I can tell how much gas and battery life each vehicle has. I use this every day to see where my drivers have stopped. It is great when a customer calls saying we didn't stop at their location and I can pull up exactly where my driver was. I also like that I can tell which drivers have incidents and exactly what type of incident they had. Easy to learn how to use and teach employees how to use it. IT's also great that I can put alerts on when drivers are stopping at their personal houses

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

Videos don't always save which causes an issue when we have to check how a driver is driving or if there was an accident we can't see what fully happened.

**What problems is Samsara solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When a customer calls in stating that we have not been to their location I am able to pull up my drivers location and let them know that we had in fact been to their location. It also works for the opposite when a driver hasn't actually stopped so that we can have a discussion with our driver on why they did not stop. It also solves the problem of when a person calls in and says our driver is not driving safely, I can effectively see their speed, location, and pull up a video of where the driver was to see exactly what happened.

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

I use Samsara to track the status of our rental fleet units and I like that it is very easy to use and has many features. Being able to track the vehicles live helps us a lot because we are able to save costs. The upcoming vehicle maintenance features help me a lot because I can coordinate with our technicians on what needs to be done and diagnosed on our fleet. Having the fault codes when the check engine light is on also helps me with creating the repair orders. The initial setup was very easy, and with AI features, it makes it even easier to set up.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

I wish it was a lot easier to edit and view the video recording. Especially if we have a truck that is involved in a traffic accident. I wish it was as simple as cut and paste.

**What problems is Samsara solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Samsara to track our rental fleet live, saving costs. Knowing vehicle status helps us profit more. The maintenance features assist coordination with technicians and fault codes ease creating repair orders.

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

I really like Samsara's AI dashcams and safety coaching features, which are my standout favorite. The cameras detect risky behaviors, like phone use or drowsiness, and provide immediate feedback to drivers, which has significantly improved driving habits. It feels proactive and our safety metrics improved dramatically. Having an all-in-one platform is a massive time-saver too. Everything we need—GPS tracking, vehicle diagnostics, ELD compliance, video storage—is in one clean, modern dashboard, eliminating the need for multiple systems. The interface is intuitive and mobile-friendly, making it easy for our drivers and team to use. I also appreciate the actionable data and insights, with clear trends on fleet performance and cost-saving opportunities, which help us make better decisions. The responsive support and continuous improvements are also commendable, as Samsara continuously updates with new features. The hardware feels premium and reliable, holding up well in our tough conditions.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

Here’s a balanced view — the things that don’t work as well or could be improved with Samsara, based on our experience:Main Areas for ImprovementUpfront and Ongoing Cost Samsara is one of the more expensive options in the telematics space. The hardware, monthly subscription, and data plans add up quickly, especially for larger fleets. While we see strong ROI, it’s a heavier lift for smaller companies or those with tight margins. The pricing isn’t always transparent until you get a custom quote. Implementation and Onboarding Time Getting everything installed, configured, and all drivers trained took longer than we expected (about 6–8 weeks for full rollout). Some of our older trucks needed extra work for proper wiring and engine data integration. Samsara’s support helps, but it still requires significant internal coordination. Occasional Software Glitches The platform is generally stable, but we’ve experienced: Intermittent sync delays between the devices and the cloud dashboard Occasional video upload issues (especially in poor cellular coverage areas) Minor bugs in reporting that require workarounds or waiting for fixes AI Camera Sensitivity The AI is very good, but it can be overly sensitive at times. It sometimes flags normal actions (e.g., checking mirrors, adjusting the radio briefly, or reacting to bad road conditions) as violations. This can create “alert fatigue” for both drivers and managers until you fine-tune the thresholds. Reporting Customization While the standard reports are excellent, creating highly customized reports or exporting data in exactly the format we want for our internal systems can be clunky. Better integration with third-party business intelligence tools would help. Support Variability Most of the time support is responsive and helpful, but we’ve had a few cases where it took longer than expected to resolve technical issues, especially during evenings or weekends when fleet problems often arise.

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

What I like most about this program is the range of information options available to me. It’s very diverse and provides a lot of information about my drivers and the equipment they operate.

The thing that I mostly don't care for is the AI learning curve, the fact that it is not real time human interaction I understand that it is there to help and gather information of course that is it job, but just the loss of the real time moment things.

Samsara provides and gathers a huge amount of information on equipment and my drivers that allows me to specifically help all of my drivers to be safe and help them to go home at the end of the day.

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

I like how easy it is to find guys when they're on the road with Samsara. I also find the safety app valuable for checking driver scores to see who's doing the right things and driving safely. The GPS feature is especially useful as it lets me see where everybody is. Plus, I can check everybody's hours of service, which is really handy. Additionally, the initial setup was pretty good because they gave us good PowerPoints and told us what to do.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

Maybe access to the pre trips and post trips could be improved, or there could be an easier way to get to them.

**What problems is Samsara solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Samsara to easily track where all the guys are when they're out driving. The GPS feature helps me see their locations, and the safety app lets me monitor driver scores and hours of service.

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

I like Samsara's innovation and partnership aspects, which are significant for my needs. The integration with our own platform is also a highlight, making it possible to manage our fleet better. I appreciate the fast innovation pace that led us to switch from Jaltest. The initial setup was very easy.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

I find the need for more webhooks and broader API access to be a bit limiting. It would be beneficial to have API access to all sections of the application. This would bring more interactive data and prevent me from having to request large amounts of data.

I work in safety department so i can easily get notified any events like crashing harsh braking so we can prevent accidents. We can easily track our assests like trucks and trailers. Its very easy to see our trucks and drivers performance too.

Sometimes when we work samsara starts to lag this is the only problem i face otherwise everything is very good

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

We have been using Samsara for our fleet operations and the service has been excellent. The system is very reliable and easy to use, especially for GPS tracking, ELD compliance, and real-time vehicle monitoring.

The dashboard is user-friendly and helps us manage our trucks efficiently. It has improved our safety reporting and reduced downtime by allowing quick response to vehicle issues.

Customer support has also been responsive and helpful whenever we needed assistance.

Overall, Samsara is a great solution for fleet management, and we are very satisfied with its performance

We have been using Samsara for fleet management, and overall it is a strong and reliable system for GPS tracking, ELD compliance, and real-time vehicle monitoring.

It is easy to use, the dashboard is well designed, and it helps improve safety tracking and operational efficiency. The support team is also generally responsive.

However, there are a few downsides. The cost can be on the higher side, especially for small or mid-size fleets. Some features also require additional add-ons, which increases the overall price. At times, the system can feel dependent on stable internet connectivity, and minor delays in updates may occur.

**What problems is Samsara solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Samsara helps us solve several key fleet management challenges, especially around visibility, compliance, and operational control.

It provides real-time GPS tracking of our trucks and trailers, which improves dispatch planning and reduces delays. The ELD system helps us stay compliant with HOS regulations under the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), reducing the risk of violations and audit issues.

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

I like being able to immediately see what’s going on with our fleet at a moment’s notice. The cameras are hardwired, which helps prevent employees from unplugging them or tampering with them. I also appreciate the remote access to video footage, so I don’t have to physically pull a memory card to review it.
I don't know how this survey is calculating the star review, but it is showing as a 3 out of 5. I would actually put it at a 4 or 4.5 out of 5 stars. It is a really good product despite some of the minor flaws that I personally have experienced which would not be necessarily true for others.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

Sometimes it takes far too long for a video file to be retrieved after I request it. There have been times when I request a series of videos and, even 8 hours later, it still hasn’t connected to the camera to start the upload. For time-sensitive situations, that delay is really frustrating. The audio alerts are also pretty overbearing. I understand this is a feature controlled by our administration, but I still think the sensors for things like harsh braking, lane departure, and railroad crossing violations need a lot of work, because they seem to trigger for no reason. Lastly, some of our cameras do not have the ability to live-look in despite the fact we calibrate all of our fleet to the same standard protocols, why are some able to and others don't give me that option?

This helps us hold employees accountable during their shifts. It also lets us track our fleet and spot issues early, before they turn into major problems.

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

We were on the fence for years on whether or not to implement a safety product such as Samsara, however, we needed a better way to control our drivers and the vehicles out on the road. We implemented Samsara and have not regretted it one bit. Its a great product with great customer service.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

I see a lot of development for the platform in the future, I wish the licensing were a little more inclusive of everything to just make it an all encompassing platform. The cost is really at the top end of the market and then the add ons really make it unfeasible.

It's allowing us to address driver behaviors immediately and creating a safer on road experience. We continue to see a better experience for our drives and their safety. Its breaking those bad habits!

The program allows for real time tracking abilities for fleet management. When set up thoroughly, all vehicle information is accessible in on place including maintenance needs and error codes. Driver HOS logs are easy to review and manage. I like that the program offers a one stop shop for fleet daily management.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

There are instances where the location is not entirely accurate presenting challenges in locating equipment in real time such as trailers. They ping location in intervals as opposed to the entire journey.

Samsara allows us to manage our fleet in one program. Having to manage multiple locations, Samsara simplifies the process by generating tags for each location that can be filtered out or all engaged at one time.

I find Samsara overall easy to use. The good dashboard makes navigating easy, and the summary pages make it easy to identify problem drivers and reward good drivers. I can locate information quickly, which helps when coaching drivers or looking for trends. The initial setup of Samsara was very easy, and we saw immediate results, discovering some things we thought were good which were not.

Sometimes, it's hard to navigate new items. I wish there was better communication with Samsara when items roll out.

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

I use Samsara for stakeholder reporting and operational accounts payable accounting. I really like the accuracy and precision of the data it provides. The interactive map is great for seeing where our drivers are and accessing key data about our trucks. The data related to miles and fuel economy is always the most accurate in Samsara compared to other platforms like Fleet One. I think the new AI-powered tools have great potential, even though they're not fully operational yet. The initial setup was very easy. I believe it is by far the best tool for trucking operations available for carriers like us.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

The AI assistant has amazing potential for report building, but right now it struggles to do the tasks that I ask it to do. It seems to be a pretty outdated model and does not have great problem-solving skills compared to ChatGPT or Gemini.

**What problems is Samsara solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Samsara provides the most accurate operational and technical data about our fleet, like Engine Idle Time and MPG, which aids in stakeholder reporting and accounts payable accounting.

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

What I like best about Samsara is the real-time GPS tracking and how much control it gives us over our fleet. We run multiple trucks daily, and being able to see where every vehicle is at any time has made a huge difference in how we operate.

The live tracking and alerts help us stay on schedule, reduce unnecessary drive time, and quickly adjust when things change. It’s cut down a lot of the guesswork and constant phone calls to techs asking where they’re at.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

It's disappointing that April is no longer our account manager.

**What problems is Samsara solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Samsara is solving the problem of limited visibility into our fleet and driver behavior. It allows us to track vehicles in real time, monitor driving habits, and address safety issues before they become accidents or costly repairs. This benefits me by giving peace of mind, improving accountability, reducing risk, and helping us run a safer, more efficient operation overall.

I appreciate how Samsara provides ease of use and detailed information on the exact location as well as the historical movements of assets. The large view map feature is especially useful compared to others where the map is just a small portion of the screen. Searching for specific assets is easy and quick. The initial setup was very easy. I also like that I can provide ETA information for products we are hauling, which is crucial for our customers.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

There's times when GPS connections are flaky or non-existent. This can become very frustrating. I think the tracker should ping a connection at least once per hour regardless if the asset is hooked up to a power or not moving.

**What problems is Samsara solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Samsara helps me provide crucial ETA information, offers ease of use, detailed tracking, and quick asset search. However, GPS connections can be flaky or non-existent at times.

It has many useful functions. When I log in, I can see a map showing all vehicles in motion, and I can also check whether the driver is logged in.  I can also get a weekly recurring report on drivers safety performance for a specific location or a group of employees. AI function helps you find information and steps how to get to that function

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

Following distance is hard to determine and we do not get a lot of occurrences for drivers. I know our some of our drivers are following too close to other drivers but we get minimal occurrences on any drives.  They setting will not let you or shorten the time to pick these occurrences up. They get a warning 1st so we do not get a true picture of drivers following too closely to other vehicles which could cause accidents.

We have eliminated another system called compass that we had to use beside using LYTX to capture miles.  This is saving money as we were paying for two systems and Samsara does both for us.

I like the safety reports and the vehicle maintenance schedule. It’s also helpful to get alerts when drivers are doing things they aren’t supposed to, and to be able to track those issues over time.

I dislike how tricky it can be to find specific reports. I’m the only one at our company who understands most of the app, but even then, tracking down certain reports or pieces of information can still be difficult. Other than that, I don’t really have any additional dislikes.

It helps us make sure drivers are where they’re supposed to be, and that they aren’t using their vehicles when they shouldn’t. It also helps us keep track of speeds and safety reports, so we can review them with our drivers whenever we notice an issue. We’ve been able to use Samsara many times to locate drivers. We use it daily, or at least every other day.

I like the speed of notifications when an alert occurs. It allows me to take action immediately if necessary. It has also drastically reduced drivers cell phone use and increased seat belt use. Not only wearing their seatbelt but I can see and correct drivers who wear their seat belt improperly.

I'd like too see an option to automatically log a driver out when they complete a post trip. Also instead of reading a full message out on the camera a chime or just a "Check Messages" alert would be fine.

The visual tracking of vehicles is clear and precise. It's the most accurate vehicle tracking tool I've used.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

1) the app doesn't update vehicle location if you switch to other apps in your phone and then go back to Samsura. You have to swipe away the Smasura pp and then repost it to get accurate tracking.

2) there's about a 10-20 second lag in vehicle tracking on the map. I usually track my buses in the inner city, so this equates to a 2-3 block differential. But it's not that big of a deal.

Without Samsura, we wouldn't be able to track our vehicles. This is needed to coordinate transportation for our clients.

I find that Samsara documents in real time exactly what our drivers are doing, which helps us see where there's room for improvement. Although I was skeptical at first, thinking it was a kind of nanny system, I've realized it has improved my own driving. The system showed me things I was doing that I didn't even realize I was doing, like accelerating out of turns which created harsh turns. It allowed me to adjust my driving, making me feel like I'm maybe a better driver.

Downloading the video from the buses is clunky. I would like that to be a little more versatile because, in our application, we use it to document misbehavior on the bus and, as it stands now, we've got a download in increments that make it a little difficult to pinpoint those misbehaviors. I find Samsara very useful for our fleet of vehicles. It helps keep both drivers and passengers safe, and I really appreciate the ability to monitor in real time. I really like being able to see what the driver is seeing as it happens, which is especially helpful if there are issues with a passenger. Once it's set up, Samsara is easy to navigate and understand. Despite some bugs, it's the only system we've used, and it's proven to be very useful. I'd definitely give it a 10 for the way it enhances operations and safety.

There are some issues with movements and hand gestures with drivers. A driver will move their hand and the system thinks it's a phone and advises the driver to put the phone down, or when a hand is covering their mouth for whatever reason, it takes it as a yawn. Samsara has bugs, just like any other program, though.

I really enjoy Samsara’s map feature. It makes it easy to take a quick look at the map, then zoom in to a detailed satellite view to quickly locate equipment around our facility. The initial setup was also very easy.

I love the cameras inside and outside of the vehicles. I also like that I was able to get an API key to link our vehicle tracking to our job costing software. The support is helpful and quick to respond. We haven't had any issues with the performance of the products no failures yet.

The consistent pricing increases are annoying as no new services to us have really been added just UI upgrades and a AI assistant that doesn't do much. When we ask to make custom reports the AI assistant struggles. Some of the menus are also not very intuitive when you are trying to find things I usually have to google where everything is to save time.

Helps when we get into an accident having all the data of exactly what happened along with the camera feeds. this greatly speeds up getting claims processed as they cannot dispute video. Samsara is one of the best tools, especially suited for organizations managing fleets, particularly for logistics and real time construction operations that need real time visibility. I like the ease of use with the intuitive interface that keeps things simple. The real time tracking is something we use a lot, like GPS, video review, and temperature monitoring, which enhances safety and customer service. The compliance tools are very good, especially the ELD (electronic logging device), which is very compliant for trucking in automobile. The ELD solves one of the biggest headaches by automating Hours of Service tracking and reducing human error from manual paper logs that are prone to mistakes and falsifications. I'd say audit stress is one of the best examples of what it solves, because during DOT inspections drivers and fleet managers often scramble for records, and Samsara provides digital logs instantly, making audits smoother and faster rather than going and finding manual logs. The driver fatigue risk feature alerts drivers when they near their limits, which improves safety, which is very important in automobile. Environmental monitoring is a very good feature, like trailer temperature tracking for goods. Mobile accessibility is one of the best features, with easy to use apps for drivers and managers, and it lets Samsara catch what is tracked in no time in a more automated way rather than manually. I like the asset tracking that monitors equipment usage and site operations on a given condition. Fleet management is very good with vehicle tracking, driver safety monitoring, and fuel efficiency insights. The customizable reporting gives strong analytics and dashboards for fleet optimization, and the complex reporting centralizes all compliance data in one dashboard so managers can monitor multiple drivers across states. It makes dashboards and analytics in a very clean way. The integration ecosystem is good too, with 142 plus integrations done so far, including Microsoft Power BI as a leading one. Scalability is something I like since it works for both small fleets and large enterprises. It also solved earlier technical issues like slow report access, freezing, and occasional data inaccuracies, so reports now generate very fast with no freezing. The customer support gave us an easy flow to reach the actual client team. The route optimization alerts reduced costs and helped us save, and dashcam AI alerts help prevent incidents, which is very good for driver safety. The compliance reporting is automated and easy to get from the application. I would rate it nine out of 10.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

Even though Samsara is a very advanced tool, there are some things I think should be improved. Customer support is my main one. It's difficult to reach a knowledgeable rep, and the response times are slow. System reliability could be better too. It occasionally freezes, and sometimes there's lag or slow loading of the dashboard, which frustrates users. Location accuracy is another thing. The GPS sometimes misidentifies addresses or lags behind the real-time movement, so they should check that. The integration setup is one more thing. While Samsara integrates with many platforms, the initial setup can take weeks and isn't always that smooth. And the hardware cost, the upfront investment in sensors, cameras, and gateways, can be very high for a smaller fleet.

I find being able to see the truck live and monitor its speeds really helpful for deliveries. The camera system has a lot more clarity compared to our previous system. I really like that Samsara is small and can be hidden behind the rear-view mirror. The best feature for me has been how quick and easy it is to install, taking a maximum of 15 minutes. The installation process was straightforward with instructions that were very easy to follow, and I am very happy with the easy navigation of the portal. I am beyond happy that we switched to Samsara; it was the best choice for our fleets.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

I would like to be able to see a live feed from inside the truck. Our old system I was able to see a live feed into the truck. That would be a nice feature to add.

While you are not familiar with the platform, it is easy to get a little lost trying to identify where to see the operational part and the general configuration. It is also difficult to understand the parameters of each of the attributes of operators, cars, and routes.

Samsara is going to help me solve an important issue in the Operator Payment System that I am developing internally in the company, as it will allow the operator's payment to be 100% confirmed based on the routes assigned in the trips and validated against the information from the operations area. In this way, we will not have problems or complaints from the operators regarding the miles traveled on each trip.

I like working with the Samsara teams because they listen to our ideas and they're always interested in making improvements. The AI system itself makes it really easy for even managers who are not super computer savvy to navigate the system and direct them to where they need to be, not wasting time lost on some random part of the system. It records only the at-risk events and shares that with the managers, so they don't have to spend time scrubbing through hours of footage. It just gives them what they need to know, so they can speak to that. It handles a lot of the low-risk stuff itself using the AI coaching system, saving the managers a lot of time.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

I'm still waiting for close following distance detection at low speeds. 10 kilometers an hour is where we have the majority of all our preventable motor vehicle incidents.

Some of the system accuracy, like in the case of a rolling stop sign. It'll pick up something like a stop ahead sign, or in some states where you can turn right and bypass that stop sign, it'll still trigger an event.

The 360 cameras have been a game changer, and we love the alerts and reports which provide the data we need. The cameras have assisted in resolving any altercations involving our drivers on the road, whether it's speeding or current accidents. Samsara is user-friendly and offers an easy way for our drivers to use the DVIR function directly from their app, sending reports to upper management for quicker maintenance. Also, the initial setup of Samsara was pretty easy.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

We are currently figuring out a way to lessen our alert notifications that go to managers. We currently have 20 locations and over 150 alerts due to tags. Do one big alert that includes everything we need with each tag.

The switch to Samsara has been beneficial because it provides us with video and a better working system.

I know it is complex but better finding and retrieving of video. Sometimes we have a rough estimate of when an event happens and I end up retrieving multiple videos to narrow it down to what I want.

I really appreciate using Samsara cameras, especially for the real-time tracking feature. One of the best things about the system is how quickly it updates a vehicle’s location—it’s accurate within seconds of a truck arriving, which makes planning and coordination much easier.

My only complaint is the length of the contracts being 3 years. You have no flexibility to downsize in times of an emergency

There are many reports you can pull from Samsara to review your fleet’s data from just about any angle.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

The app still shows errors at times that our drivers have run into. Also, the way shipping IDs are remembered isn’t helpful in our case, because every day each load has a different number. As a result, the IDs just keep accumulating over time, and it’s become messy rather than useful.

Another issue is that some locations aren’t actually in another state, but are only a few miles from the border. This causes the ruleset to change unexpectedly, which then creates a whole mess in the HOS for some drivers.

I can think of another problem as well: some speed areas seem to be pulled from Google/Google Maps, but it creates far too many speeding notifications that aren’t accurate.

**What problems is Samsara solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have submitted many tickets in regard to the previous issues but nothing has been solved and it won't let us know if it will ever be.
