I like that I can share tracking with customers easily. I appreciate that after working with them directly and explaining that drivers can run AG and Non-AG Exempt loads they were able to add an agricultural button feature. Erin H and Nathan M. in support need a raise, because I have spoken to what seems like hundreds of support members at Samsara and they are the only two memorable, knowledgeable, and helpful staff members. • I hate that 99% of your staff doesn’t know the software or industry.
• I hate that the system is so tech savvy and high functioning that it is hurting the drivers rather than helping (example: The auto switching of HOS settings)
• I hate that the data isn’t split up per truck so they can all hop on one truck until it is drained if it has the strongest connection. Data should be split and specific to the truck. All truck companies have yards with multiple trucks parked right next to each other.
• I hate that you can ask 10 samsara support reps the same question and receive multiple different answers.
• I hate that it seems no one at your company understands HOS regulations even though that is the whole point of an ELD.
• I hate that I had to explain that driver can be AG exempt and Non-AG exempt for you to add this functionality after we had acquired thousands of HOS violations in our logs.
• I hate that our sales rep wasn’t useful at all when it came to onboarding us with the proper qualifications and training to use the software. Terrible implementation and integration.
• I hate that larger customers like ourselves doesn’t have a dedicated support rep that knows the system and our needs like most companies have.
• I hate that when I call in for help with an issue I am sent to 10 different people that are clearly speaking from a script and have no clue what they are talking about to only waste my time and finally say, “they will submit a ticket” to then days later finally get escalated to someone that knows what they are talking about but by that time we have at least 5 new issues.
• I hate that when speaking with other companies that use your system the only way for it to function properly is to by your own personal wifi because the Samsara data/ wifi/ hotspot is so spotty and unreliable.
• Due to our trucks not having properly separated data they are blowing through it even though they only use their tablets for Samsara and Hammer (a Truck GPS system) and when they are out of data they cant sign in at all to the driver app. This is a major compliance issue. For the time being your team cant understand why the login isn’t white listed but have increased our data so that our drivers can at the very least log in…
• I am also being told by our high security clearance customers, that your system is safe or applicable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Data connectivity is fantastic. Samsara has a large number of integration partners and a highly functional and easy to use API, both enabling data to flow easily between Samsara and other systems, and customer support is quite knowledgeable about the data connectivity. Some Samsara hardware is not natively compatible with certain vehicle manufacturers, such as trailer GPS trackers on Hyundai trailers, making it difficult and time-consuming to install devices with relatively high failure rates. Some API endpoints use an outdated datetime format, making it difficult to streamline a process to pull data from necessary endpoints. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Route creation and optimization. These two factors alone have altered out entire local delivery network, processes, and footprint Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only thing I would like to see, is a better integration of how the dispatcher sees the route mapped out versus the lack of map on the driver app. Also please integrate google maps into the driver app- we have apple tablets and it defaults to apple maps which is not great. Samsara is a solid choice for fleet management, offering reliable tracking, safety features, and useful data insights. The platform is easy to use and helps improve efficiency without being overly complicated. I tend to use this 10+ times a day, if not keep it up as a dashboard option on my laptop for live time tracking. This was easy to intergate within the company and any issues we did face - customer support was there to help resolve efficiently. It’s a good fit for businesses looking to keep better tabs on their operations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I would love if Samsara attached to our CRM system so we could recieve alerts if a vehicle is not at the destination on their calendar. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Works well for vehicle telematics, video supply and GPS. Regularly providing new tolls and updates to enhance user function. Data collection is easily put into custom reports that can be used for operation changes that reduce costs. System is easy to install and cameras work well. Video footage is easily recalled and has saved us from numeraous accident payouts. System ids used every day by every member of our organization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Phone support could be better. Long hold times Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Honestly it has served its purpose. We use it in almost all our vehicles. We pull videos all the time whether it’s for an accident we witness, or someone calls on one of our drivers. It is a great CYA (cover your A**) tool.
Im debating on getting them for my personal cars jsut because of how clear the video is.
Not to mention it was incredibly easy to install. Customer support is amazing when we need to use them. Which isn’t hardly at all.
The integration is simple. Once you log onto the portal everything you need for all vehicles is right there and you can just select which one you want to monitor.
I highly recommend it!!!! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
IM not really a fan of how their navigation on the portal is set up. That being said once you use it all the time you just learn where certain tabs are located and go from there. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What is most helpful about Samsara to me is the diagnosis and real time gps. I cannot just pinpoint one good thing about using Samsara products, but I will try. Being able to look at the diagnosis and catching an issue before the engine light comes on in the truck has helped tremendously in so many ways and keeping our drivers safe is a big deal to us. If I could change one thing about Samsara that I am not comfortable with it would have to be knowing the exact location of leaking when there is something leaking in the internal parts of the trucks. I would like a more in depth view of the issues. Also, when going back in days the mileage stays on the current day. This is something that would be helpful to DOT companies that are needing help with IFTA mileage gains. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

- User Interface: Samsara's user interface is intuitive and easy to navigate, making it accessible even for less tech-savvy users.
- API Coverage: The API is quite comprehensive, providing most of the functionality needed for integration with other systems.
-Customer support is also above average to good with occasional ghosting, or radio silence as well as ping ponging us between agents . This happened once or twice .
Samsara is a good platform overall, especially considering its easy-to-use UI and well-rounded API. However, for companies like ours with heavy integrations and reliance on accurate, real-time data, it's essential for Samsara to address edge cases like document resubmission failures. Fixing these would enhance its reliability and make it a stronger tool for businesses of all sizes Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are some issues with the API, particularly when it comes to handling document resubmissions through the driver app. If a driver submits a document incorrectly and then tries to rectify it with a resubmission, the webhook for the updated document is only sent once. This can lead to complications where corrected data doesn't properly reach the servers.
Room for Improvement: While the platform is mostly robust, occasional bugs in specific workflows can cause frustration, especially for businesses relying heavily on automated processes.
Our organization is deeply integrated with Samsara, incorporating it into our internal systems, including "SYSPRO as our ERP solution", in-house developed applications, and other third-party integrations. This level of integration makes Samsara a critical component of our operations, as it enables real-time data flow and seamless communication between systems. While the platform works well in most cases, issues like the aforementioned webhook bug can disrupt our operations and require manual intervention to resolve. I like that I have the ability to easily monitor and promote safe behaviors. The fact that coaching can be assigned automatically without having to rely on written reports that may take time to receive or may not come at all lets our employees know that we are continuously looking out for their safety. It deters complacency and encourages them to be active team members. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We do have issues with cycle violations not being recorded properly when exemptions are being used, as well as a few DVIR issues and the occasional missing gateway. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
All around usefulness from tracking trucks and trailers, to accessing statistics such a fuel and fault codes, to setting geo fences around hot spots. This barely scratches the surface as there are numerous features that aid in countless ways, such as ELD integration that accurately shows when a driver is in Sleeper Berth, Off-Duty, or On-Duty, etc. We use this software 24/7 and have had zero issue with ease of use and integration - both were handled effortlessly. There are a few glitches here and there when it comes to tracking some statstitics. but they are short-lived and have always sorted themselves out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The GPS trackers are very accurate and the dash cams are clear and help us protect our assets.
There are tons of trainings you can do at your own pace to get yourself up to speed on how it all works.
The customer service is top notch. Prior to using Samsara, I had used other telematics platforms and the customer service was atrocious if it even existed at all. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
They can be a bit pricey, but they are willing to negotiate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
