
What I like most about Paycom is that my employees can punch in and out from their mobile devices because they work at different locations daily. However, we have had such an issue since we work nights and sometimes double shifts. Paycom will randomly log my employee out. It does not work well when they are working nights into the following day. It will not work at all if they work over a certain amount of hours. But this is just a tiny issue compared to other problems we are experiencing with Paycom. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The Tax Team.- We have discovered that the W-2s for our employees for 2021 is wrong. Paycom has taken no responsibility for this error and has completely dropped the ball back on us to get this resolved. At one point, I was told the tax team was in contact with the SS administration on our behalf, which made me believe they were fixing the errors. Come to find out, the tax team never contacted the administration and was never trying to fix anything. I received a form to complete to send back showing the difference in amounts reported to the IRS versus what was reported to the SS administration. At this point, I again believed they must be fixing the error. Come to find out several weeks later, again; nothing was getting fixed. This is a time-sensitive matter. This whole time there is no ability to speak with a tax team rep, but everything is mediated through the customer service rep. We are now 2 1/2 months into this; the agent emailed me a spreadsheet asking that I break down all of our employee's earnings, deductions and taxes for the first three qtrs of 2021. We have paid Paycom for this service, and they failed to get it right. Now they will not even put any work into finding out where they went wrong. I have been using a Payroll service for over 25 years and have never experienced such unreliable service in preparing payroll taxes. We chose to use a Payroll service to decrease the company's liabilities. Paycom has opened us up to them.
When I spoke to the sales rep selling the product, there were blatant lies about whether or not Paycom would work with our 401(K). I was told that Paycom and ADP work together. Come to find out; they do not. That is a whole other issue that is still not resolved. The resolve I was given is not an ideal solution but opens us up to more payroll errors because the report will not map out correctly with ADP's system. Now I have to enter information into the spreadsheet manually. We were also promised that integration with our accounting software would work, and it did not. Payrolls still have to be manually entered into quickbooks.
Paycom has not helped streamline our payroll processing but has made it more work at the end of the day. There are plenty of other issues with employee punches not working correctly and a lot of Manual work having to fix hours. Paychecks have failed to be delivered several times on time, and I have had to do manual checks for several employees to get them paid on time. Still, these are nothing compared to the Tax liability they have imposed on our company.
If you are considering changing your payroll services, do plenty of research and do not trust that the sales rep's answer is 100% true. They tell you whatever you want to hear to sell their product. Ultimately, we can not trust Paycom to file our payroll taxes correctly. And they will not take responsibility for helping fix the problem. In that case, that is a huge problem, and we are now looking for a different Payroll company that can deliver what they promised and what we paid for. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like the ease of use. Very user friendly. Payroll Specialist a trained well and always helpful and friendly. I like when I call I get a live person that solves the problem you have immediately. The system is in constent use though out the day. I have used this product not only at my current job but at other companies for 8 years. When I first used this product back in 2013 I actually implemented the product and it was a great experience! I had a coach by my side the whole step of the way. Over the last few years, we have tried to move as much team communication as possible out of messy, tangled email threads and into a standardized, clear, user-friendly, easy-to-look-back-at portal. Through Paycom, we have successfully integrated our time keeping, expense reimbursements, time off requests, annual coachings, and much more into Paycom, and even developed systems for notifications that help quickly and easily keep everyone on the same page. The helpline and account specialists are fantastic. However, sometimes successful utilization requires knowing what you want and pressing through to get it fully built out the way you want it. I like the Ask here dash board and the punch change request; i also like how easy it is to process payroll and correct issues when there are issues. It has enabled us to go paperless and automate so many aspects of our work. It offers a lot modules, is customizable, and makes it so that your employees are doing all of their own updates. Everything HR goes through Paycom -- expenses, benefits, time and attendance, document mngt, employee acknowledgements, ACA, reward statements, taxes, reviews, applicant tracking, compliance, reporting, etc. Our implementation back in 2020 was good -- they identified issues that our auditors and 401k vendor never caught. We utilize Paycom on a daily basis, for all aspects of our payroll and HR.
Paycom has empowered our company to be able to process payroll quickly and accurately, in a fraction of the time it would take to process manually. Employees appreciate the Paycom app, which gives them full access to their hours, pay, benefits and time off. We recently added benefit integration, file feeds to carrier, and COBRA, which has greatly improved the benefit access for employees and eliminated the need for manual processing of changes as employees are hired and terminated.
In addition, we have greatly benefited from our Client Relations Representative, who has spent numerous hours, in person and remotely, assisting our team with training and utilizing all the modules we have in Paycom, to ensure that we are getting the best return on our investment. There is nothing I currently dislike about paycom. However, in the past, when I have come across something that wasn't working the way we wanted, I was able to submit a development request for their team to consider for future improvements and I have seen them implement quite a few of my suggestions. Paycom is the best choice in HRIS and Payroll systems. The information network that it contains gives managers and administrators a seamless plaform to organize and manage employees. Track trainings, timecards, accruals, FMLA, insurance and benefits, all of it! You can even automate time-off approvals and payroll processing! Customer service is easy to contact and very quick to respond. The integration process was very in-depth to make sure we had everything taylored to our needs and it was satisfyingly smooth. Your Paycom Specialist will work with you and follow up to ensure the best service. I use Paycom every day. We have been with Paycom for 4 years now and I'm so glad we switched. Paycom is so much easier to use and much more versatile than our previous platform. There is no lagging or missing information between HR and Payroll. Customizing what each user can see and access is great for different departments and management levels too. The workflows are great. Paycom is worth the investment. The best feature is the Reports. They have several reports already built, most of which you can customize and download in multiple different forms, such as HTML, XLS, or PDF. You can build your own report too, which is a blessing when it comes to administrative report needs. You can desing your own custom reports for governement reporting or insurance and benefit reports.
