We have really enjoyed the user experience. It's intuitive to use and very well laid out. We did our '24 year-end reviews and it helped us take several steps forward in giving more complete and accurate performance reviews to our staff. Templates for review forms are easily customizable. The system is a bit too locked down and in some cases doesn't have the ability to be configured to us it the way we need to. For example, after a staff memeber has been shared their review to view online, there is no way for them to print this for their own records - only the manager can, creating more work for our mangers. HiBob is intuitive and easy to navigate. Even a non-technical person can quickly get the hang of it. I personally love its simple UI because I can easily find whatever I need—whether it's checking who is on holiday, tracking upcoming birthdays, applying for leave, or gathering employee feedback. As a developer, I don’t deal with payroll and other HR-specific tasks, but I can still appreciate how everything is organized in one place. That said, I’ve noticed that the mobile app could use some improvement. Bringing HRIS out of the dark ages. Its simple and modern feel makes the system feel instantly familiar. No anxiety as a new user. It just - works. My first project was to manage the intergration of the timeoff function in bob. This meant end to end project management. Getting a business full of employees with Change Fatigue and getting bob to work with and talk to existing systems. I didnt require training in how bob works, I jumped on had a one hour play around in Sandbox and i felt I knew enough about the system to then manage my project. I dont have an IT backgroup, if fact Technology and I are just not friends, I come from the generation where i got to live half my life wth Covid and half without. Some workflows are not customisable - I was very surprised that there wasn't an option to hide accrued personal leave. With that said the Bob team are always willing to help and make changes where possible. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
HiBob is an incredibly intuitive system to use. When we first implemented HiBob at our organisation, the support we got from HiBob and Udder was so thorough - we really appreciated the demo sessions and how these were designed to allow us to actively set up at the same time. If I ever have a problem with HiBob (very rare!), I know their customer support team are available and responsive and will support me. I use HiBob as the main user for our organisation, and therefore use the system on a daily basis - this has meant I have got up to speed on the product more quickly than some of my peers, but I understand from them once a process is explained, it is very intuitive and simple to follow. I particularly appreciate how much you can tailor the system to your needs with custom fields, workflows and fully editable talent cycles. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There have been a couple of instances where something we need within our organisation hasn't been possible directly with HiBob, and we have had to find a workaround or do this outside of the system. These instances are very rare, and when they do occur, they are more related to the specific and bespoke nature of internal processes and policies. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
When I joined LIMA they were using a clunky HR system purely for storing employee records and booking leave.
I was keen to move to an HR system we could align with our brand, use as a communication tool and automate our HR processes.
Since introducing HiBob we have significantly reduced the volume of HR tasks, creating not only efficiencies in the team but also reduced risk of error. Our platform is branded with our LIMA colours and all colleagues have access to our values. We’re embedded HiBob posts as the place for team updates, celebrations and key business updates. Our team love interacting with posts and having awareness of their colleagues key anniversaries and birthdays.

The ticket system is amazing; help is always prompt and issues always solved. The community is very helpful as well - if we don't manage to do something on our own there is ALWAYS help and support. Never had this kind of support on any software utilised. I also love how Bob works, the layout and features and how easy it is to use. As a software, its very useful...but also fun! I love how flexible HiBob is - we can add as many custom fields as we want, we can leverage workflows to ensure data accuracy and activity tracking. The UX is excellent, navigating the tool is seamless. The CS and support teams are awesome, it's a pleasure to work with them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some improvements can always happen (document management and deletion in compliance with GDPR rules, managing external accesses to the tool, and some other limitations we currently live with). HiBob has been really great with the automations and being customisable to where we need tasks and information flowing. It's been a game changer in the way we want to communicate to our new starters and managers and to update ourselves to remind us of certain tasks. It's also quite user friendly (although we had to get used to categories) and it's been really great being able to do all of this myself rather than relying on support. One of the downsides of Bob is when it comes to permissions when it comes to fields and tables, sometimes we don't want everyone to see every field in a category but enabling them to see a category means they can see every field. There are also small reporting constraints such as not being able to get all information in a general report so we have to be intentional about which report we use. Still an early user so haven't got a lot to say here but a few points that could have been better:
1. The implementation was very hands-on. While this helped us in getting more familiar with the system, it was different from the initial expectation.
2. Post implementation, it is a support ticketing model, though you have your Customer Success Manager available to escalate for any priority issues. While the resolutions have been timely until now, not having a number to call can feel less reassuring.
3. Inability to submit multiple non-consecutive days time off in a single request. This is one of the most pinching functionality to our employees. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's easy to use as a member of a small team - you don't need a dedicated HRIS team or analyst to use, update, customize and confugure the system, anyone who is tech savvy can adminsiter this system, set up integrations, customize and configure modules etc. The development team is continuously improving and releasing new features and there is a very active user community. There are some limitations that can't be worked around - it's a trade off between being easy to use and being completely customizable. for the most part i can do everything i need, sometimes I need a workaround or a less than ideal solution. But in general the product team listen and prioritizes adding features that lots of the users want. There is also no direct customer support, so everything is ticket based so no matter the urgency it's always got to wait for the ticket to be responded to via email.
