Top Rated Visio Alternatives

-Microsoft Visio comes in two plans: Visio Online which is a web app in office 365 & Visio Desktop application, which has more advanced features.
-Visio supports latest diagramming features such as layers, containers, validation reports, shapesheets & drawing explorer.
-Using the desktop application provides the users with offline access to almost all the features except collaboration.
-We can automate workflows by exporting our Visio diagrams to Power Automate which creates flows that can be triggered by the events of a diagram.
-Visio integrates seamlessly with other office apps like Word, Excel & PowerPoint, visio graphics & diagrams can be exported directly to these apps for further editing or demos. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
-Mac users can only use it as an Office 365 web app because the desktop application is Windows only.
-Visio subscription costs are high.
-Visio auto recovery feature is the worst. Most of the time when the application crashes it results in a 'damaged drawing'. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Best thing about Visio is its learning curve. It is easy to learn flowchart creation if any is new to creating flowchart. Its learning curve is not steep. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Is it monotonous and it is not colorful and many important icon/symbols like database symbol and many other are paid, should be included in the free version.
It's user interface looks archaic as compared to Miro which looks new and lively.
There is no option of Artificial Intelligence (AI) where one can give text and on the basis of that AI can suggest which type of flow chart is good.
Also if flow chart in Visio is very big and we try to paste it in word file or in PPT then it becomes blur. So there should be an option pasting in word/ppt, so that even if it is small, it should not be blured.
Also the interface should be like all the options are visible to the one who is using it or atleast there should be some sort of small text or video for every option, so that if any new person is coming then he should know there itseld instead of experimenting with that. I like that it has many visuals you can choose from and you can construct the visual of your choise and it is user firendly Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is nothing I dislike thus far, apart from having to pay to use other features, but there's nothing free and the basic features are more than enough. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Visio is a great tool for making complex flowcharts, Architecture Diagrams, technical Drawings, etc. It allows Office 365 integration and is easy to share with colleagues to work simultaneously. It can be a great tool for a versatile tool for professionals in various fields, including business, engineering, and IT. However, sometimes working together with colleagues there is always a delay in updating just like every other MS Office product. Visio provides extensive customization options, allowing users to create highly detailed and polished diagrams. Great to use for data linking, enabling users to create dynamic diagrams linked to external data sources such as Excel. Easy to use to create complex diagrams. Online Sharing and updates are sometimes unreliable, often leading to reworking diagrams again. Following version control from colleagues is a daunting task. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There is nothing that I like about Visio vs. other products. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Diagramming is difficult and slow. Making connections is time-consuming, and it isn't easy to modify all of one shape at once. You have to do each one separately. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Ease of use = is awsome , with out lots of knowlege you can crate the most complex diagams Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Collaboration control - in a big company it gets out of hand Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The features of Visio that I like the most are its simple user interface and welcoming design tools. Making flowcharts and diagrams is now more straightforward than ever. Thanks to the wide range of templates and forms offered, it is a versatile tool that can be used for a number of activities, from process mapping to organisational charts. The UI could seem a little intimidating to those who are not experienced with diagramming tools. Additionally, some people or small businesses may be put off by the cost structure, which is on the higher end of the range for such instruments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Visio is a great product from Microsoft for creating efficient flowcharts, process maps, workflow diagrams and org charts. It provides wide range of inbuilt features to create visual diagram of systems and processes and is used for system design and software architecture Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It does not provide collaborative features and it takes time for learning and adoption of the tool. High Cost of subscription and less compatibility with other applications/tools are additional concerns for using Visio Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One of the standout features of MS Visio is its robust diagramming capabilities, allowing users to create professional and detailed visual representations of processes, systems, and workflows. The vast collection of pre-built templates and shapes makes it easy to create diagrams quickly, while the customization options enable fine-tuning for specific needs. The seamless integration with other Microsoft tools and the ability to collaborate and share diagrams enhance team productivity and collaboration. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Limited accessibility for non-Windows users and the lack of a free version for basic diagramming needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Visio is smooth and it has been used for years for mapping projects visually. As an IT project manager it has been essential in designing data flows from one system to another. From Swim lanes to shapes that have defined meaning on a visual tool this has been the standard for mapping processes and working through tough and critical points of contention in a project. Visio for the novice can be a little challenging and over the years it has become more user friendly. The tool is more expensive than some up an coming tools that offer the same functionality for a fraction of the cost. Many times the Visio licences are scarce and when moving to a more cost effective system more users can use it. When I start showing a project in Visio it sometimes intimidates the uninitiated. Other than that it is a great tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
