Overall Review Sentiment for Paycor

Paycor does have some positive aspects, particularly its integrations with benefits providers, 401K, and QuickBooks—so long as you don’t need a new file created. It took over two months and a lot of unneccesary calls and emails to get 1 file re-created, which was frustrating.
While the platform itself offers useful integrations, the overall customer support experience has been disappointing. If everything works as expected, it’s a decent system, but if you run into issues, don’t expect quick or knowledgeable assistance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Our experience with Paycor has been nothing short of frustrating. What was promised during the sales process has not been delivered, and their customer support is beyond inadequate and oftentimes rude.
We have had ongoing issues with paycheck delivery, PTO accruals, and the recruiting application not functioning properly. Despite numerous follow-ups and repeated assurances from multiple representatives that these concerns would be addressed, absolutely no resolutions have been provided. Instead, the only "solution" ever offered is to purchase additional products—yet we can’t even get the ones we already have to work properly.
The lack of knowledgeable customer support is appalling. We recently had a tax issue, and when calling for assistance, the support representative had no idea what they were talking about. Worse, they provided completely incorrect information, which could have led to further issues had we not double-checked everything ourselves. It’s unacceptable that a payroll provider lacks expertise in such a critical area.
It’s amazing how available and attentive Paycor’s team was when trying to sell us their services, but now that we’re facing major issues, I can’t get any meaningful support. We are now actively exploring alternative payroll providers because this level of service is simply unacceptable. If you’re considering Paycor, be prepared for a sales pitch full of promises, followed by a complete lack of follow-through when you actually need help. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
easy to use their payroll function. Phone support has been helpful for payroll. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Our experience started fine however, they have made some VERY BIG mistakes with the 1099's and W-2s. Many of them have errors on them and since we dont have access to ADP anymore it is a struggle to get them fixed. We have not really received any help with this thus far as we are waiting for them to provide guidance. I am not sure we will be keeping them moving forward as this is directing effort from our staff when we are going through another transition within our company. Additionally, they never reached out to us for their Indeed HR feature which was the reason we decided to transfer to them. Very disapointed and looking to go back to ADP Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I really like that Paycor is customizable down to the employee level and how they can set up their app homescreen. Paycor has been consistently improving their customer service experience and now, whenever I contact them for support, I feel confident that I will receive the help I am looking for instead of having to figure it out on my own. The employees at my company report that it is very user friendly and appreciate having full visibility to their paystubs, time off, tax documents, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While I appreciate that Paycor is very customizable, I'd prefer to have a 'standard' or default set up and then tweak from there. We went from an in house payroll system to Paycor in Oct 2023 and to say it was overwhelming is an understatement. It has taken us a long time to get everything set up the way we need and there are still things that we are working on. There have been a lot of workarounds made in order to get us where we are today, which isn't ideal, but we are able to process payroll, which is the most important thing! The implementation process for Payroll was great and we loved our implementation specialist - the fact that we had zero major issues for our first payroll (we run payroll weekly) was incredible! The process for the HR side was not so great, but thankfully we were able to connect with some amazing Paycor employees who have been working with our HR Director to make things right. PayCor has an answer for all of my employment requirements from recruiting to retirement. I can pick and choose the types of modules I need. Their implementation process is thorough, their follow up is consistent and their people are always helpful and kind. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have no issues with PayCor. They are responsive when there is an issue, I am really pleased with my choice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Paycor, for the most part, is a user-friendly platform. As an administrator I am able to manage employees very easily in the system. On the employee side, we have found that the experience is also user-friendly and the mobile app functions well. There are understandibly technical issues that arise, but the support team is very helpful in resolving these issues. We have added many services and integrated a new PTO program this year, made easier by the Paycor customer support team. Most notably, the Learning Management System has been a phenomenal platform for us to customize and enroll new hires in training and managers in specialized trainings. There are the occasonal difficulties in using the Paycor platform, none out of the ordinary of what is expected. One item of note is the lack of customization in some areas. For example, once an earning code or pay item is added it cannot be removed. This has caused some issues with inaccuracy of timecards, but it is not a large issue. The best thing about Paycor is that they listen and try to accomodate the uniqueness of many industries--no matter how complicated. They also put you in control of your HRIS. No longer do I have to submit a ticket and wait for someone to answer or complete my task. I have found that reports are easier to run in Paycor once I figured out how to use them. If you don't know how to do something, Paycor has a wide knowledge base to help. If that does not help, don't worry. Their team of expert customer services reps are ready to assist. Finally Paycor is easy to use once you take the courses and work in the software. I am glad that we chose Paycor for our HRIS needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The biggest challenge for us was that we changed to Paycor during implementation of new products. I would get comfortable with the "old" version for it to be replaced with a new version. Growing pains though. I do want the impersonate user back. This was a very nice feature that we no longer have since it allowed me to see what the employee was seeing and help them. Most of the time the issue is that they do not have settings correct. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The system itself was relatively easy to use and had a lot of features. The integration process was simple. I used the system weekly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The implementation team overall kind of dropped the ball when it came to adding new services. We were sold on the services and started paying for them after already having payroll but the implementation team never contacted us to add the new services after we met with our sales person. We got refunded after going back and forth with customer support on this.
Customer support in general was only somewhat helpful but overall they were not very knowledgeable. They would transfer you over to someone else who you would then have to restate your question too before that person would transfer you again.
The tax compliance also was not great as they had things setup improperly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like that they truly listen to my feedback and implement whenever possible. I seen multiple updates that include feedback I have provided in the past. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The reason for the "8" is that I'm not sure I could give any HCM a 10 - I've worked in MANY systems and they all have their own issues at times - however, I do think that Paycor offers the best UI.
- Premium Support and the ability to reach someone almost all of the time is great (as well as having an 'assigned team'.
- Payroll Module (though I don't process payroll currently, I have in the past and I really like how easy it is to process). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Lots of 'system glitches' - As an ADMIN I probably see these more than others, but it's fairly frequent. Also the fact that the system itself is SO "SENSITIVE" - To have to clear cache/cookies/browser history at LEAST 1x every other week - so that the functionality isn't hindered - is a total nuisance!!
Also, Reporting and Analytics don't always 'match up' (odd).
Some functionality missing that creates more 'manual' work (specifically regarding Time Off Plans); Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Paycor is top of the line with product innovation. I like that they have so many options for integration making work life easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I haven't found much I don't like. All companies have challenges depending on your business needs. Paycor does work to resolve and make changes to meet the ever changing world of business needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
