Hive is extremely versatile for any project management style. A single project can be viewed in a table mode, by task, stage, by flag, or in a Kanban-style. I've also found the Forms feature to be very useful in collecting input from numerous people without giving rights to directly edit tasks or projects. This enhances my control and significantly reduces cost. I also like the G-Suite integration. The ability to access email from directly within Hive ensures that Hive becomes my hub platform throughout the day. I've used Hive to get to inbox zero. Hive is also regularly adding features.
Among Hive's many interesting features is the ability to build automations. For example, we setup a webform that employees can access via a hyperlink. Upon submission of the form, the data is converted to tasks within a project following a pre-established template. These tasks are then assigned automatically to staff based on tags. The web forms are quite easy to setup, inclusive of customized pull-down lists.
My IT Director has been particularly happy with Hive. It was easy to setup and took little training for staff to understand it. He was an avid user of another competing project but happily made the switch due to Hive's many features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I would like a greater ability to customize the project dashboard seen upon login. Also, we have found the reporting from Hive to be very limited. We would like to use Hive for reporting to our senior management. This requires exporting data to a spreadsheet and then significant reformatting. While Hive Analytics is a good start (and continuing to improve), it would be more useful for users to be able to report on single projects.
It would also be useful if project-specific fields could be custom for a single project, rather than appearing in all projects within a workspace. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The ability to send emails right from the ticket. The various views to see how projects are coming along are fantastic. I can look at what my co-workers are working on and jump in to help if I have free time. The view of my actions allows me to handle my workload for the day more efficiently. I like the ability to link emails to tickets. I love that there are templates and notes that you can use. The ability to make projects and move tickets from project to project is seamless. The ability to assign multiple users to a ticket is great. The ability to add attachments to the tickets is very nice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I would like a little more customization. The ability to change our dashboard to match company colors would be nice. The ability to add colors or themes to projects to determine what they are at a glance would be nice. Also the ability to collapse description fields would be a welcome addition. I don't like that reminders are limited to 30 minute increments. Wish we could pick whatever time we want. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

i don’t dislike anything - if anything i don’t like that they have new features all the time but the features are usually useful Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There's a lot to like about HIve! It's flexbile and works really well for both task management AND project management — which is a balance we didn't find in any of the other software we looked at. The different views make it easy to stay focussed on your next task, or to see the whole projects from a managment perspective. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There's very little that we don't like. Being able to scroll back through messages without lag would be good. They seem to be constantly updating and adding new features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Love that I can set and keep track of deadlines for myself and others. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
No 24/7 contact available. It takes awhile for the person in the chat box to get back to you. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love being able to view all the tasks I have to complete and the dates they are due in one place. Before I had to keep all this information written down somewhere or in my head. I also love that you are able to have different projects, and then a lot of different sub projects with their own individual actions. This allows for everything we do to be extremely organized and very easy to read through. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some things are confusing as to how to view them correctly, but I think this is just due to the software being new to me. Once I have used it more, I think these issues will go away. I really wish that there was the ability to create Gantt charts on this software. There is project planning as well as allocated time tracking for employees, however, I'm not able to build a project timeline/Gantt chart on here which isn't helpful. I would love to use Hive for the entire project planning process, and right now that isn't possible. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like the three different sections cause it helps me to know what tasks I have completed. I feel like it really clears up my space and encourages me to use less paper. My favorite thing about using Hive is the section that shows which tasks are in progress. Sometimes I forget what tasks that I have to do or what I have started already so it is nice to see the progress on those different tasks.
I also like that there are different tabs for your own personal tasks and for tasks that you have with a team. For example, I could have my tab open to tasks for my team at William Jessup University and then another tab with tasks for my personal life (school and personal tasks). With Hive, organization is not just present in the tasks but in the possibility of organizing work from personal life.
I also liked the part of Hive where the due dates change color as it becomes closer to the due date of the task. I have always seen that colors speak to different people psychologically. For example, the color red expresses the importance and urgency of something. Changing the colors of the due dates to red when the task's due date is coming up soon tells the user that that task is urgent and needs to be done ASAP. This also helps the user to prioritize what tasks they need to do at the moment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have no dislikes about Hive, I love everything about it!
The only dislikes that I have heard about Hive is from the people on my team that say that they "have trouble using the program". They say that they wish there could be an option to show the tasks on a calendar setting instead of in a list. I think for some of them, the long list of tasks with due dates was a little intimidating to them. I believe there is a calendar setting that you guys have implemented at Hive but I have not been able to look further into that yet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Hive has many different viewing options and is highly customizable to suit our wide variety of requirements. It's highly intuitive for new users and takes very little time to get up and running with new projects and new teams. Our clients love using Hive with us too, they prefer it over our previous software solutions (Basecamp, Asana). Hive Support team is highly responsive any time I have a question or feature request. They address my concerns very quickly and regularly push out updates based on customer feedback. The email integration is awesome - I'm able to create tasks off emails or connect emails with existing tasks to consolidate and track information in an organized fashion. The time tracking/reporting functionality has some shortcomings, but I am aware they are actively working to build out that feature further. I have also noticed there are some features of Action cards that are not present on Sub-action cards, which would be nice to have. I know others have requested this feature update as well, so it may already be in the works. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
