I love that I'm able to create quick action cards for any ad hoc requests we get while still having consistent coverage for reoccurring tasks. Easy to navigate on the platform and it takes very little time to train new team members on how to use. Also, love the ability to further break out projects that have multiple steps in a clean and easy to follow way. We heavily utilize the subactions in an action card to set separate due dates, details, and project owners. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It could be a bit easier to sort through completed tasks through a table view. Also, the overall view options could be a bit more simple to navigate in general. Finally, would be nice to be able to add followers to an action card without having to assign and then remove them from the task. I see the option to follow a task myself, but would like to add other managers to follow a task assigned to someone else so they're aware that it's already been assigned and added to the task list. It is extremely versatile and the support is great. I must have tried 20 project management apps before I decided on this on Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Maybe the ability to filter by tag in all of the views might be helpful but not a big problem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

My team really liked the ease of use and customization options with Hive. We have many different projects that vary in time, resources, level of effort, etc., and Hive meets the needs for all of them. Whether it's just listing out tasks that need to be completed or scoping a whole new curriculum, we have been able to clearly lay out a path forward, timelines, and responsible task owners at all levels. We love the ability to change views and not impact the project view for others. For example, some roles may be more interested in the calendar view and when things are happening on a larger scale, while others want to the see the swimlanes to see where each step of the project is at currently. It took us a while to acclimate with it being a new tool. The in tool tutorials were helpful. I got stuck quite a bit with the last swim lane being immovable and it would let me rename it to measurement; it would always move completion back to the end. That was a bit frustrating. We found a work around, but it wasn't exactly how we wanted it. Not a deal breaker - just a slight frustration that took some time to figure out. Other than that my team has been very happy with the Hive implementation, and we're constantly finding new uses for different features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What I love most about Hive is that they offer reasonable pricing for small businesses. I am a freelancer juggling many clients and projects, so I greatly rely on project management tools. Most of the tools out there are either very complicated to learn and manage or are priced for teams of 5 or larger. Those features do not fit into my workflow or my budget. Hive offers ease of use, color coding, tags, calendar views, project views and many other features that make using it simple and intuitive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I haven't found any barriers to use yet, there are certainly a couple things that could be improved such as the number of clicks it takes to update dates and times. There is a status space on the left of the screen that would be nice to be able to collapse as it's not as important for me as more screen real estate. And the portfolio view needs some revisions I think. But that's just my opinion Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Hive has every feature my team was looking for when we moved from our old project management platform. Email integration, team and project chat, project-based action cards, time tracking, analytics, and that's just the stuff I used today. Even with all these great features the thing that stands out the most to me with Hive is the level of support they offer. I've only encountered one bug in the 8 months I've been using the platform but when I reported that bug it quickly escalated through the support channels and a hotfix was in place within a day. They kept me updated every step of the way and verified everything worked as expected after their fix. Maybe I've never worked with the right vendors before but this was amazing to watch and gave me a tremendous amount of confidence in the platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
My one small complaint with the platform is the lebel system. Each project acts like a parent for its child action cards. So, to assign a label to a child action card, the parent must have that label assigned at its level. This probably makes sense in some fashion but the way I use the platform and labels it just means I have to sometimes go back to the parent project and assign it more labels so I can assign them to child actions. It's a minor issue and easily resolved but can sometimes be an annoyance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love how organized HIVE is and how user friendly it is! Notifications are great and it's really helpful when you are on the go and in field. If a task is approaching it's deadline then you will get and email and notification on the app and desktop version. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I would love to see an improved app with some of the features from the desktop version. For example messaging in the app would be great but the app has improved tremendously in the past year. It's not easier to use now! Which the team appreciates to have an app that we can easily access on the go. This comes in hand when the team is in field and might not have quick access to their computer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Hive is very easy and intuitive to use, it also looks aesthetically pleasing too which is always a key factor for me when deciding to use a software application.
The team at Hive are also engaging and listen to our feedback and provide some excellent tips and advice, they allocated us a dedicated resource at Hive so that's been important in our roll out across the business so far.
The best features include the ability to store all project data in one place, i.e. a detailed project plan, notes, attachments, RAG status and to be able to share this with other colleagues and external customers. We have also created online forms to capture information and data which is also proving beneficial - data can be filtered, sorted and analysed to help us as a business and improve visibility. There are still some features which we would like improving or enhancing, but Hive are listening and we hope to see fruition of these in the future
We'd like to see licences adapted to allow for customers or work colleagues to have a 'view only' option - this is for added security and visibility - we can then get more people to see the benefits of Hive! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There is a lot of project management software out there. Even a lot of collaborative ones. Hive was the only one that combined all of the features that we wanted in one place, with the friendliest interface. Why is the interface important? We want team members to use project management tools for themselves. No longer is the project lead alone, stressing out over all the details. Team members all work within the same task list, expanding on their own section. Now the project leads can keep track of the schedule without all the hassle. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Hive isn't fast. Even the desktop "app" is pretty slow for what I would consider a medium size project of a few hundred tasks. The mobile app is a pretty common complaint too, but not many mobile apps have the full functionality of a desktop app and still maintain usability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I can now juggle 25 projects simultaneously without missing details! Being able to pin projects to the top toolbar, create project templates, assign actions and sub-actions to different people, track team productivity, and integrate with things like Google Drive and Slack all add up to an all-encompassing project management tool.
Honestly, I would never go back. Before using Hive, I was incredibly stressed all the time, and I worried I would drop the ball on projects (and did). I don't have to have that constant nagging in the back of my mind anymore. Hive has changed my life for the better, and I am grateful for all the hard work their team has put into making this tool just what any organization needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I think the notification settings could be improved. Right now, if I am logged in on my desktop but in another room in the office, I may get a notification and not see it until I go back and check the log manually. It would be really nice to be able to customize which notifications send emails, which pop up on my phone or apple watch or desktop, etc. But, I just make a point to check them throughout the day and remind my team to use slack when something urgent is added to Hive. That has worked for us for now. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It's very user friendly. Being able to jump from team member to team member or project to project in a matter of seconds is a game-changer. Easy to navigate and set up processes and systems that have helped streamline our work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It took a little bit to get used to (we had previously used another software to help manage teams and work). But even then, the learning process was pretty quick and easy overall. Sometimes it can feel like there's too much going on and too many options/functions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
