What do you like best about Gusto?

I was amazed by the onboarding experience with Gusto – their quick call after sign-up was brilliant! Whenever I needed support, which was only twice, it was smooth and easy. What problems is Gusto solving and how is that benefiting you?

It takes care of nearly everything. When an employee moved from MN to OH, our current provider could not do OH payroll for some reason, so I switch to Gusto and adding OH was a non-event. Since then I have had to run payroll in MN, OH, SD, and TN and each time it was painless to work with Gusto- the hardest part was setting up the company accounts with the various states but Gusto had step-by-step instructions so it went as smoothly as working with state government can go. What do you like best about Gusto?

I use gusto as a business owner, and an employee of said company. First I went with Gusto because their price was hard to beat and had heard good things about it. Now I can't see myself every using anyone else for my payroll needs. Their platform is super user friendly. Their chat team is always helpful when I've gotten a little stuck. They make everything that has to do with payroll a breeze. It's super easy to run payroll, including paying my contractors. They take care of my state taxes, and end of year reporting for federal taxes. What do you like best about Gusto?

It's so simple to set it up, and as you set it up, their reps are calling (not just emailing, a person calls and asks if you need anything) no matter how small the account. They seem to truly care about offering superior support. Uploading a payroll spreadsheet is also dead simple. They work with any spreadsheet you have an you map it to the Gusto fields, which means you aren't downloading a template and making your POS or other timekeeping software match Gusto. Gusto matches what you have. I also love how they handle the I-9s. So easy. They also integrate with a ton of other softwares and let you add custom checklist items when onboarding staff, like setting up accounts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gusto?

There are a few complex payroll features taht are not available. For instance, you cannot have a staff member with a salaried and hourly job. There's no way to put a staff member on leave. You need to remember to skip them on payroll every cycle. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Gusto?

I have been using Gusto for the last year and have been very pleased. I initially used Gusto about 10 years ago, and it has come a long way! The interface is very easy to use. I use it to onboard employees in a matter of minutes, upload and have new employees sign the employee handbook, and even send welcome messages that are signed by the whole team. Implementing Gusto into my daily activities has been easy and painless. My employees love the mobile app for easy access for loggin an and out and uploading expenses. From the admin side, Gusto takes care of all of my quarterly and annual reporting needs, so I never have to worry and I know my reports will be submitted timely and error-free. I have only had to use customer support on a few occasions when I initially implemented Gusto, and they have always been able to resolve my issues within 24-48 hours. What do you dislike about Gusto?

I haven't found any real "downsides" to using Gusto, although I don't use all of the available options Gusto has, simply because I am such a small business. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It makes my life as the owner and administrator so easy. The applications are user-friendly and easy to walk through. It saves a lot of time tracking expenses and time off for employees. We've been consistently impressed with Gusto's support system. Whenever we've needed help, the chat feature has been incredibly helpful, providing efficient and effective communication. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gusto?

User interface for contractor payments (and employee payments before they recently updated it) has several times been frustrating because the back button will get pressed or will happen as a result of gestures and I lose all the payroll info I've already input, so I must start from scratch. Also the employer notes for each paycheck should be a larger window so you can see the entire note and edit it more easily if needed. This is a small complaint that I think can be addressed with some re-design and future updates, it wouldn't prevent me from using or recommending the software. Overall the good way outweighs the bad. Gusto is allowing us to run payroll, pay contractors, and use HR utilities as a small nonprofit in a way that we probably couldn't afford if we outsourced all of those services. What do you like best about Gusto?

I love not having to worry about the HR and tax aspects of payroll and other integrated employee benefit solutions. The price point is perfect, and I'm getting much more for less than I was paying elsewhere. As a small business, it's often hard to find companies that offer add-on benefits. Gusto partners are the perfect solution.

The Gusto interface is straightforward and easy to navigate. Everything is very well documented, so most of my interactions are through the Gusto online portal. It's easy to onboard electronically. The process is defined, documented, and streamlined. Maintaining records and running payroll is very simple and straightforward. I've loved all of the extra services and advice they've provided this year with CARES benefits (PPP & ERC), it made navigating those benefits less intimidating. What do you dislike about Gusto?

At certain times, it can be hard to get ahold of someone (chat is daunting; the callback timeframe is sometimes over 20 min). Although their self-serve documentation is great, sometimes I need to jump on a call with someone immediately and don't have time to wait for them to call me back. This year I had two tax issues, the first one took nearly 6 weeks for a response, the second one took over 100 days to resolve and it was an error on their end!

I'm guessing the lack of expediency is because I'm on their entry level plan, but this is not acceptable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
