As a small business owner I have enough on my plate that I need processing payroll and answering questions related to it to be as simple and as efficient as possible. After vetting several options we landed on Gusto because my initial takeaway was that Gusto could help us do exactly that. Mission accomplished!
From payroll processing reminders, to suggestions about how to leverage all the services and options that the platform offer, to simplified reporting and a very responsive support team, I honestly feel like I've got the right solution in Gusto. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I'll have to think about that. It's not a perfect system - no oen system will ever be perfect. I'll get back to you. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There are so many things that I like about Gusto. One, it's very affordable for all of the work that they do to ensure my taxes are taken care of. Two, through them I was connected with Human Interest and activiated a 401K. Three, the financial incentives from referring someone is awesome. I already received benefits from one referral. Four, it's very easy to use the dashboard. Five, the customer support is stellar. I can call, email, or chat with a represenative. As a solo preneuer and owner of a S Corp company, the last thing I want to stress myself out is regarding taxes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I haven't found anything I dislike, so far everything seems very user friendly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Gusto provides our small company with a complete/comprehensive HR solution that doesn't break the bank. It seemlessly aids us in handling everything from onboarding new employees to facilitating annual reviews and internal promotions, while also acting as a hub for the important daily needs ot employees such as scheduling PTO, managing expense reports and accessing company data/forms. We love that our people can access their documents from the web or the Gusto app, as that flexibility is clutch in a multi-generational office! The implementation team at Gusto did a great job of educating our account administrators on the ins and outs of the program, and continuing to support us after the go live date.. We've been using Gusto for about 2 years now and have found that the software continues to inspire us by being both intuitive and easy to use, so much so in fact that none of our employees required training to get up and running. Even better, we have not yet run into even one issue utilizing this software. It truly is a win for everyone on our team! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The few downsides I have experienced while using Gusto don't negate the numerous benefits, though I can think of a few small things I wish were different. First of all, we operate under numerous separate entities, and the first one we set up was our SMALLEST entity; not our MOST UTILIZED. Now every time we log-in we have to manually pivot to the most utilzed entity which is annoying. I wish we could mark the most utilized entity as the "defualt" to save a step, but alas we cannot. So if you also operate under multiple entities, SET UP THE MOST USED ONE FIRST even if it's the biggest and most cumbersome. You'll thank yourself later. :) I also wish Gusto integrated with Outlook better. For example, people take PTO within Gusto but those days do NOT plop into my Outlook calendar so I'm always having to hunt for who is out of office in multiple places. Again, since we operate under multiple entities this is an annoying process as I have to check employees of each entity separately, which ultimately slows me down. It'd be nice if Admins could look at all entity data cumulatively to speed up that process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Gusto is VERY easy to use and getting set up with payroll, benefits and other HR tasks is a breeze. You don't need to know anything about HR to be an HR administrator, Gusto walks you through everything. It is quite comprehensive in what it takes care of for you and a very good value for the price. When our previous HR services company failed us, we switched to Gusto and have been happy ever since. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It doesn't take care of everything at the state level and it's not always obvious what it does and doesn't do for you so you need to keep an eye on things. It would be better if it was more turn-key for things like workers comp and other state filings.
The customer support is ok but could be better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It was easy to enter prior payrolls, getting started was a simple process. If I have a question about anything and can't find the answer pretty quickly in the knowledgebase, I only have to open chat and ask and one of the representatives are always ready and able to help me. Since my last review, Gusto has added the ability to go back into a payroll that has not happened yet and make corrections before it is actually submitted. I love this as I often have employees come to me after I've already done payroll to correct hours, etc. Gusto makes payroll so much easier than using any of the numerous other programs I've used in the last 20 years. We use Gusto payroll for three small businesses. I love that I can submit payroll in just a few clicks and I don't have to worry about quarterly or annual tax reporting. I use the system for both independent conractors and W2 employees and generating 1099s or W2s at tax time is a breeze! 100% recommend! My own pay as a W2 employee of my main company is automated; since it's the same amount weekly it's literally "set and forget". Gusto support is awesome! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I hate 2-factor authentication but I guess it's a necessary evil. :) I also find the reports for past IC pay to be quirky - they are in a weird order and not sortable so it's a little clunky to reconcile my checkbook (could be operator error) :) Gust's third-party vendors can be a little obnoxious - I get a lot of email about benefits which I just delete. One of the best things about Gusto is the ability to register in new states for multi-state employers and their collaboration with a 3rd party vendor to help you get everything done correctly. As somone who has registered in additional states before (which was painful), with nothing more than a few quick clicks and information, having a team I could trust to register our business in additional states was a dream come true!
I also enjoy payroll. With or without time tracking (depends on your needs), running payroll (and paying the appropriate government taxes) goes from a several hour process to sub-15 minutes!
If ever there is a problem, customer support is quite helpful. It may take a few minutes to get a hold of someone, but once you do, you will never be left with your problem unsolved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Gusto's geofencing feature with time tracking is problematic at times; someone can be right in the middle of the geo-zone, and be told via the app that they are not in a designated area.
Beyond that, there is little to nothing I have to complain about regarding Gusto! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love the ease of it and everything's all there for you! You can have a debit account with it and even a savings where they round up all your change and save it to another account! Such a cool feature!! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Just wish you could ADD money to your debit card.. only way to out money on the gusto debit card is through your payroll. Can't make deposits to the card. Would be cool if you could add money at like an ATM or something like that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Nothing. Their scheduling needs updating and fixing. How you can contact customer support is slow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
They will give their clients different answers to the problems that impact payroll. You can speak to 3 different people and the answer will be different. Also they have issues with their processes and their is not consistent way their system handles wires. They don't communicate well with the client about any issues and or if there can be a solution. The sales team will sell you on a solution that isn't 100% what you get from support. The Support team doesn't even review your account before they start trying to explain the issue. Then when they review your account they understand that they told you incorrect information. Be leary of using them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

REVISION: the software is wonderful and easy. They customer service is terrible if you don't fit right into what they want you to do. If there is a question or problem that isn't on the script you will not get help, no matter how much you escalate or beg for help.
It is so intuitive to use. After using ADP and UKG this is very easy to figure out how to do everything. Our payroll support person was so informative and usedful. The integration was very easy. Our employees are finding it much easier to adjust to as we have implemented the new system. Gusto is the perfect solution for our company. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
REVISION: The customer service is great, when your problem is on the script. Non-existant if it isn't on the script.
Not all information transferred with the change. Phone number and work emails were missing. It was a minor inconvenience, but worth mentioning. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
