I mean where to start, we love pretty much everything about BambooHR. Our company has always been very particular with and critical of any platform we use. However, we actually have so few criticisms. Their onboarding and training was so helpful, everything is well documented. The platform is super easy to use and as a small HR team of two, it makes our lives so much easier. Our favorite feature is the automated onboarding. It automatically creates tasks for anyone you want, and makes it so easy to ensure employees sign and submit all the required documentation. As a medium sized organization this is so incredibly helpful in ensuring that onboarding is fully completed quickly and effectively. We love being able to bulk import information, bulk update staff profiles, and create custom fields in their profiles. Those custom fields can also be pulled into custom reports (which is by far the easiest report creation module I have ever used). BambooHR also has an incredibly helpful customer service and sales team. I could legitimately go on for days raving about how much I love this platform. Any items we do find, we simply give them the feedback. Their team is constantly developing and rolling out new features or improvements. I cannot wait to see what they have in store for the future! There are very very few things I think could be improved in the platform. The main item is the performance management module is a little restrictive with how many questions you can ask. It's still super easy to use but for our company's use case it's the only thing that isn't optimal. The only other item I can think of is when employees retroactively request PTO it doesn't automatically get added into payroll. Then when you manually add it in it gets deducted from their leave bank for a second time. This one is really small item and a lot of HRIS platforms perform this way. There are so many helpful things about BambooHR, the best thing is that it is very user friendly and intuitive for the employees. The time off management is easy to use and is great for keeping records. Having one place for all of the employee information and files is a fantastic feature. One of my favorite things is the Section for Company Links. We use this to have a place for employees to go, to find links to all of our company information, including links for our external partners, for example - our 401k and insurance companies. Our employees love it! Their customer support is amazing! I have yet to speak with anyone who has not been very friendly, helpful and competent. Their uptime is nearly 100% - I think we've had one time since we started using BambooHR that the system was down and it was only for a very short time. There are a couple of fields that are standard that one cannot add anything to the drop down menu, and there have been a few times when this would have been valuable to do. Also, over half of our company is in the UK, and having support during all of their business hours would be helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
BambooHR helped us transition from the previous HRIS we were using to using their system. Their account representative was an excellent representative of their company: well-trained, able to help answer questions, and able to help with problem-solving. We were up and running with BambooHR in almost no time at all and it has been incredibly easy to use. Our employees all love it so much compared to what we used before. There are only a couple of things that are frustrating. The first is that you can't hold timesheets to be submitted until after a payroll has closed. This is hardly a deal-breaker, but is an annoyance for my supervisors. The other is that we have a step in between interviewing and hiring that is important in our approval process, but it can't be handled easily in BambooHR. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The most impressive thing about bamboo HR is the ease of use through fantastic UI and UX design. There is such a familiarity and intuitive path to get to any of the features or documents that I need. I've used mainstream and in-house built platforms from tiny companies to fortune 10 companies and bamboo HR has always been the best. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wish it was easier to search for specific PDFs like 401(k) documents or medical insurance documents. You are able to search, but it doesn't always seem to pull up the most relevant documents when I need them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The sales, support, and implementation teams are, at best, deceptive. At worst, they are fraudulent. I asked, repeatedly and explicitly, in writing, how the integration with ADP works. They would never respond via email. They brought in multiple people to tell me how well the integration works. Once implementation started, it became clear that it doesn't work. The blame was placed on me for not providing the fields that ADP needs. I was told to ask ADP what fields BambooHR needs to import to process payroll. They said they would build out custom fields for direct deposit information and tax information. I cannot believe this is a functional company.

BambooHR is good for those with under 100 employees since it's a purposefully simplistic platform. If you have a simple question, Support is quick to respond (usually within same business day or the next business day). They did a great job at allowing admins to create fully customizable access levels on a per field basis - something other platforms don't offer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
-Unable to create smart calc or custom logic fields
-No SFTP integration capabilities
-Unable to use advanced logic for workflows or approvals (limited strictly to department or division logic only)
-No CSM/account manager. If you have a high priority/high impact issue, you don't have a point of contact other than general support.
-BambooHR has made changes to their API settings without notice or communications on multiple occasions, causing our integrations to break without warning
-Limited filters on standard reports
-No custom dashboard reporting for execs
Bamboo isn't made for larger organizations with more robust business processes. It's purposefully simplistic and doesn't allow much customization in regards to reporting, approval chains, delegations, task reassignments, performance reviews, etc. It's a great starter platform but for growing organizations, it might be easier to pick a platform that you can grow into. You can find whatever HR tools you need on BambooHR. Usually, you can find several of them for each purpose, so you can choose the one that best fits your needs.
We use BambooHR primarily for monitoring Benefits, but we were also looking for Applicant Tracking, which is why we choose BambooHR over their competitors.
You can find various options for Payroll, ATS, and much much more.
The standard reports are useful, and you can custom design reports.
The reps at BambooHR are all very helpful and courteous, so don't be afraid to ask for assistance.

I think that BambooHR is a stronger platform than any other that I have used in the workforce. I love that I can request time off, see my pastas, and get my tax information on one place. As a teacher I have lots of work to do and this makes it easy to keep my personal affairs in order. The website and the app are easy to use. They are organized in a very clear way, it is aesthetically pleasing, and it is not challenging to find information in a timely manner. I am overall extraordinarily pleased with this platform. I enjoy that all of our employee info is in one place. We are able to track benefits, time off, and so much more in one place. We can even keep a temperature on our employees with the survey feature. I find myself using Bamboo HR daily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

If you are a small business or have a one-person HR department, do not hesitate to try BambooHR. This has improved our organization drastically, especially in the areas on onboarding and personnel management. Spend the time to work with an implementation specialist so that you can take advantage of all of the great automations and thank yourself later for making the easiest decision you'll make to improve your business administration!
