We found BambooHR highly adaptable to our specific company requirements and workflows, allowing us to tailor it precisely to our needs. It greatly streamlined numerous HR processes, such as managing employee data, onboarding, applicant tracking, etc, while also empowering our employees to monitor their progress within the company efficiently. :) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The time-off feature could be improved. Currently, we face limitations such as the inability to generate reports listing all time-off categories for a specific time period, like a month, in one comprehensive report. Additionally, BambooHR only allows us to display time-off in either days or hours, but having the flexibility for employees to view it in days while maintaining reports in hours would be more beneficial. Ability to make notes on employees that are not viewable by the employee, a place to access all necessary documents about an employee, easily track time off requests, see important information like contact info & birthday info, providing an org chart to see how everyone interacts across the org, and so much more. I really like that you can make notes on employees that are private from the employee, but it isn't very obvious in the system that the notes are private so I'm always paranoid that they might be able to read what I wrote when I wasn't planning on it. I love the ability to automate and organize performance reviews, evaluate the work culture, and keep everything HR related in one place. I also like that payroll and benefits are integrated, as well as the hiring process and onboarding process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The price. The price is already pretty steep, and then adding on the additional features that are being offered, such as open enrollment, as additional costs that are also high make it not likely for me to add services. Also, there are a few kinks that need to be worked out, but not many of them have been addressed even though I have given feedback. Easy to use, all stakeholders (admins, end users, new recruits) have an easy time finding what is needed and using the system. Was easy and fast to implement. We have everything but Payroll. Customer support is pretty timely and useful as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are some basic HR items not available - such as HR Admins not being notified when a manager enters a note in the system about their employees. Makes it so HR has a harder time keeping tabs on what is going on with employees and their performance. Reporting is missing some areas that should be standard built reports. Very easy-to-use for daily HR needs. We are able to manage all HR items and the Leave management system is a bonus at how simple yet effective it is to implement for all members in our Org! Slack integration for leave is also a big win. The Support Team has always been helpful and quick to resolve any issues/queries we have. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only 'issue' would be the 2FA timeout. We use the platform multiple times a day, and after ±20mins, the auto-logout prompts a relogin, however, you have to use 2FA for every login attempt. It would be great if the re-login is required, but only one 2FA check is required per 24 hour basis. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Generally, you can touch various modules (recruiting, HR, onboarding, time and attendance) to a certain degree. Although these are basic, it's great for a small business (maybe 50 EEs). there is decent customer support. Even if they don't resolve an issue, they are available and responsive. The system is too basic - from recruiting to payroll to administration. I was surprised due to all of the webinars and conferences that BambooHR sponsors. I thought the system would be more robust. Some examples: 1) an EE cannot be split or have dotted line to another manager; 2) time off permissions are limited to managers; 3) an EE cannot have more than 1 positions they're clocking in under (as I was told when looking at the payroll module).
