**What do you like best about BambooHR?**

The timesheet view is the thing I actually open every day. I can see my weekly hours in one shot, which matters because I'm part time and I'm watching my total for benefits stuff. Clocking in from my phone takes about 5 seconds. Time off requests don't need follow up, I submit and it routes to my manager on its own. The interface is clean, nothing buried five menus deep. Sounds basic but most HR tools I've touched feel like filing taxes.

**What do you dislike about BambooHR?**

Honestly my main gripe is the home dashboard feels a little empty for what I actually need day to day. i want my hours this week front and center, not three clicks in. Holiday accrual rules and pay date stuff aren't surfaced anywhere I can find, so I end up asking HR questions that the tool could probably just show me. The mobile app is fine for clocking in but slower to load than it should be, maybe 4 or 5 seconds before I can tap anything. Would also be nice if the integrations panel was easier to find without hunting through settings.

**What problems is BambooHR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before this I was tracking my hours in a notes app and hoping I remembered to write things down at the end of the day. As a part timer that's a real problem because my weekly total affects whether I hit the threshold for holiday pay, so being off by an hour matters. BambooHR took that whole mental load off of me.

**What do you like best about BambooHR?**

What I like best about BambooHR is that it brings core HR tasks into one simple, well-designed system. The UI/UX is intuitive and makes everyday actions like time-off requests, document access, goal tracking, and viewing organizational information quick and straightforward. It feels fast and reliable in daily use, with smooth performance and no noticeable friction.

From a user perspective, it also fits well into our broader workflow alongside other tools like Excel, and everything feels consistent rather than fragmented. I wasn’t involved in onboarding or setup, but it was very easy to start using without any training. I can’t comment on pricing or ROI directly, but it clearly adds value by reducing manual coordination and simplifying routine HR processes. I haven’t used any AI features, but the core functionality is strong and dependable.

**What do you dislike about BambooHR?**

Navigation and search could be improved, especially when trying to locate less frequently used documents or older information, as it sometimes takes more steps than necessary. Integration with commonly used tools like Microsoft Office and Excel could also be stronger, particularly since teams still rely on spreadsheets for certain tracking and reporting tasks. Improving this would help reduce duplication of work and make workflows more seamless.

It solves fragmented HR processes by centralizing time-off, documents, goals, and organizational data in one system. This saves time, reduces manual coordination, and makes it easier to quickly access the information I need in my day-to-day work.

**What do you like best about BambooHR?**

The time off request feature is super simple to use. I love the "job" tab that marks pertinent info like raise bumps for record keeping. The org chart is helpful, as well as knowing who is out of office. Quick document signatures, easily accessible newsletters in one location, job descriptions in one location, bday notices are a nice addition, as well as notices of new hires starting.

**What do you dislike about BambooHR?**

Maybe this is a feature request, but the "calculate balance" button in the time off request section I thought it would help calculate where your PTO is projected to be at by a certain date in the future at the current rate you have given the dates you already have locked in for time off to help you determine if you would have enough PTO by that date to cover a day off. Also, independent contractors are not listed in bamboo--I don't know if this is a company practice by not including them, but it would be helpful to know if they are still employed with us before I try to reach out to them.

**What problems is BambooHR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Clarification with org chart easily accessible on who to report certain issues about. Easily accessible time off information to refer to and easy to submit requests. E-signatures for company-wide documents needed like acknowledgment of policies yearly. And again, tracking of raises and job title changes is SO nice to keep for my records.

**What do you like best about BambooHR?**

Very user friendly and easy to use. Our implementation was pretty seamless and it's been easy to use ever since.

**What do you dislike about BambooHR?**

It's not very advanced and there is limited ability to add tools or features that you need. You kind of just get what is there and then have to find a work around if a feature is not available. 

For instance, I mainly use the Applicant Tracking System. I wish there was a way to pull an open requisition report, but there isn't and I've submitted requests to have one created, but it hasn't happened so I have to manually create mine every month for leadership. 

I also wish there was some AI compatibility for the Applicant Tracking System to rank candidates, help with database searches, etc. Many of the other ATS systems on the market have this.

**What problems is BambooHR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I mainly use the Applicant Tracking System. By far the best feature is that it is very user friendly, for both me and the candidate. It's hard to get candidates these days so if they have a complex application process or the system is not easy to use, they'll just give up and move on to another company. BambooHR is very simple and easy to use which helps a lot.

As an employee I am able to see my whole profile, any one from my colleagues have access to reach out to me if I am out of office, the UI is great, I can see my leaves balance clearly. the Integrations are refined and it runs without any lags

**What do you dislike about BambooHR?**

I have not found any dislike yet about Bamboo HR but I  can surely give a feedback that it should have a unique portal where an employee can upload the resume of the reference for a job, so the HR team can support and helps in onboarding the new employees.

As an employee, I can getting my all the details at one place. Is is beneficial so we don't need to reach out to HR of the company for every single problems.

I like that BambooHR is a self-explanatory system where everything can be found easily without any trouble. It has everything I need neatly organized. I also appreciate being able to see all my benefits from one place. The initial setup of BambooHR was super easy and efficient. I like that the website has a lot of different tabs that are easy to access and performs well. I also enjoy that the website intergrates different celebrations for you to be able to stay reminded of things. The best of all this it is that it is free to use

I feel like a more vibrant look is needed.

I like that I can see who is out across the org in one place and that just logging in to my dashboard surfaces my direct reports and whether or not they're out today.  This saves me time and mental effort.

**What do you dislike about BambooHR?**

navigating the direct report's employee page is not always intuitive.  I have a hard time finding the information I am looking for frequently.  I also dislike having so many tools to manage direct reports (more of an issue with my org's use of BambooHR, than the software itself).

**What problems is BambooHR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

BambooHR helps me manage PTO and keeps me updated on employee time off across the organization. It makes tracking and managing PTO straightforward, so I can stay in the loop and always know what’s going on.

User-friendly and easy to use. It’s simple to access my profile, request time off, and view events. The calendar is easy to access, and I can quickly see other people’s time off as well. I also like that I can filter the calendar by my department or view the whole company.

**What do you dislike about BambooHR?**

I can’t think of anything specific, but it might help to make the time-off request process easier to follow. It would also be useful if it could calculate how much time off I have overall, rather than having to look at dates to figure out my total holiday and vacation time.

It’s easier to keep track of time off, and I like having quick access to HR documents when I need them.

**What do you like best about BambooHR?**

As a developer, I mostly use BambooHR for my own stuff — PTO, profile updates, and finding people on the org chart — and it’s straightforward. Requesting time off takes a minute, I can see my balance before I submit, and I get notified when it’s approved, so I’m not pinging HR or checking email threads.

The employee directory is genuinely useful when you’re new or working across teams: you can see who owns what without digging through Slack or Confluence. Onboarding tasks were clear too — documents, policies, and setup steps in one place instead of a scattered inbox.

The UI is simple and loads quickly. I don’t need training to use it, which matters when HR tools are usually the last thing you want to think about. Self-service is the main win: small changes I can handle myself, and HR only gets involved when it actually needs a human.

**What do you dislike about BambooHR?**

As an employee, I don’t like that compensation information (salary, package, bonus) appears on regular screens without any extra protection. This is sensitive pay data, and I feel it should require a password or stricter access controls to view.

**What problems is BambooHR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before BambooHR, simple things like booking PTO or updating my details meant emailing HR or hunting through shared docs. Now most of that is self-service — I can check my balance, submit time off, and track approvals without back-and-forth.

It also helps with the “who do I talk to?” problem. The org chart and employee directory make it easy to find the right person when I’m new to a team or working with another department, instead of asking around on Slack.

Onboarding was clearer too — tasks and documents were in one place, so I knew what was done and what was still pending. Day to day, the UI is straightforward enough that I don’t need to learn a whole HR system just to handle basic employee stuff.

We haven’t used the AI features much, and they aren’t integrated in our org yet, so I can’t speak to those.

It has good UI, offers all the relevant information straight up. It gives relevant updates about the company and new people joining. Overall it's really easy to follow and takes little effort to be up to date. Also the privacy features and options it gives are solid

It seems to lack some of the integrations, especially I didn't notice any way to connect the calendar to a google calendar. I know there is a connection to work account, but having a way to sync personal account would be helpful as well

**What problems is BambooHR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is relatively easy to see the company structure, discover different people working in the organization and get support from different people. Personally I found the onboarding part to be relatively informal and less direct. I also like it's time off request feature.

**What do you like best about BambooHR?**

I use BambooHR to view company announcements, update my personal information, and access important HR documents. I also use it for requesting time-off, checking company updates, and completing performance reviews. It helps me track and submit my vacation leaves quickly. What I like most is the update of our new employees and careers section, since it helps me see if there's new opportunity or career growth within the company. It has been easy to use and reliable. The layout is simple, so I can quickly find what I need without spending time figuring things out. The setup was easy, a 10 out of 10, just using our work email. It worked well for what I use it for and has been a reliable tool for me.

I don't have any major issues; everything has worked perfectly so far. If I had to suggest anything, it would be to offer a few more customization options for notifications and to make the mobile experience a bit more polished.

The interface is clean and straightforward, which makes it easy to find what I need without a lot of hunting around. I’ve found the actual functionality to be very reliable—it does exactly what it’s supposed to do without any unnecessary complexity.

The line between BambooHR and our third-party platforms for payroll and 401k is a bit blurry. It can feel piecemeal, which makes hunting for specific answers difficult since it isn’t always clear where one system ends and the other begins. I’d love to see deeper, more seamless integrations with tools like Bonusly to keep everything in one place.

It makes the administrative side of HR much easier to handle. The alerts are actually useful for staying on top of deadlines without having to manually track everything, and the navigation is straightforward enough that I don't get frustrated trying to find basic info.

I love that BambooHR is easy to use as an employer and an employee. They are constantly upgrading and adding new features for its users. I love that we can onboard and handle background checks and I-9 processing right in the same platform. I love that we can track payroll and onboard new employees in the same platform. I feel that the packages offered are priced decently and that we're really getting more bang for our buck. I love that they're integrating AI into their system to make it easier for us to get more tasks accomplished and become more efficient in our processes.

I don't think there's been a feature that BambooHR has come out with that I haven't enjoyed learning about or using.

It has all the information in one place. I like that I can see my pending holidays, details about my profile and the company, and even other people at our company. It’s really helpful for keeping track of all these things.

I honestly haven’t seen anything I dislike about BambooHR yet. It’s been one of the best apps for viewing all the information and approval requests I have worked with. Other apps can make it hard to find what you need, but this one is easy to use and navigate.

It mainly helps me request approvals for time off and look up coworkers along with their contact information. It also keeps me aware of what’s happening in the company, such as news, celebrations, who’s out, and upcoming holidays.

**What do you like best about BambooHR?**

I think the best thing about BambooHR is how simple it is, along with its clean UI. I can usually find what I’m looking for pretty quickly. For example, I mainly use BambooHR to book time off or check my team’s vacations, and I can do that in just a couple of simple clicks.

**What do you dislike about BambooHR?**

It’s relatively small, but the login process can be annoying. I don’t like that when I’m signing in from a new device, I have to enter the company space again. It just adds more friction to getting on the platform.

**What problems is BambooHR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

BambooHR makes it easy for me to handle basic HR tasks quickly in one place. Before, booking time off meant I had to talk to my manager in person, and I also had to keep track of my vacation days on my own. Now it’s nice to have all of that managed on a platform instead of doing everything manually.

**What do you like best about BambooHR?**

UI/UX: I can quickly see all the information about my team (salary, holidays, and so on). However, my organization chart takes a long time to load.

Integrations: I’ve tried to link Bamboo to other interfaces, but it isn’t that easy, partly because of personal information. In practice, I mainly use it to connect to my Google Calendar so my team’s vacations appear there, which helps me manage my work each week.

Pricing/ROI: Honestly, I don’t know how much my organization pays for this tool.

Support/Onboarding: The tool is user-friendly, but sometimes I don’t receive updates about documents I need to sign or other related topics. It would be helpful to have clearer guidance on how to navigate the platform.

AI/Intelligence: I don’t see any AI tools available in Bamboo, but it would be helpful to have also information regarding this and how can we leverage AI-powered capabilities in Bamboo

**What do you dislike about BambooHR?**

UI / UX: limited customization, navigation can break down with complex data and some features are hard to find (AI could help here).
Integrations: it could help to develop this. The only integration I use is with google but it seems like it does not have a lot of integrations available.
Performance: As I mentioned before, sometimes is very slow. Especially loading big chunks of data as org chart.

**What problems is BambooHR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One centralized system where I can see all employee information in one place. It helps me when defining salary adjustments, and it also makes it easier to understand the teams through the org chart. On top of that, it supports vacation tracking and performance review management.

What I like best about BambooHR is how it centralizes all employee information in one place. Managing time-off requests, performance reviews, and onboarding processes from a single platform has streamlined my daily workflow significantly. The drag-and-drop interface makes generating reports quick and easy, saving me several hours each week. The mobile app is also a great bonus — I can approve leave requests on the go without needing to be at my desk. Overall, the clean and intuitive design makes navigating the system smooth, even for team members who aren't particularly tech-savvy.

**What do you dislike about BambooHR?**

Uploading documents made me feel insecure. When I upload a document, I need to be sure that only I and the relevant people can see it. I couldn't see this clearly and directly.

BambooHR solves the problem of having employee information scattered across different spreadsheets, emails, and systems. In my previous companies, we relied on separate tools for tracking time off, managing personnel files, and conducting performance reviews, which led to wasted time and frequent errors. With BambooHR, all of these processes are unified in one platform. Leave requests are automatically routed to managers, employee records stay up to date, and I can access reports instantly. This has significantly reduced the time I spend on administrative tasks and allows me to focus on more strategic work.

**What do you like best about BambooHR?**

I like that with BambooHR, I can easily search for emails without having to ask people for their addresses; I just put their name in. I also appreciate the convenience of being able to ask for permissions directly through the app, which means I don't have to write long emails explaining why I need time off—I just enter the day I need, and they approve it or not. Additionally, the initial setup was really easy for me; my company made me an account, and I only needed to put in my personal info to start using it.

I apprecaite how user friendly it is, and i like how customized you can make the fields/tables/folders.

The ATS needs work. I’d like to be able to build custom dashboards within the ATS. Right now, if I want to pull a report for job openings, I have to select each opening individually. I want the option to view and report on all openings at once instead of going one by one.

Additionally, I can only pull those reports for open jobs, not for jobs that are in draft, closed, or filled status. I’d also like to have more standard, BambooHR-created ATS reports available than what’s currently accessible. We’re heavily considering switching to another ATS/HRIS, so this is very important to us.

I’d also like custom widgets/dashboards for headcount and attrition. At the moment it shows all employees together, and I want to be able to separate the data by hourly versus salary.

I would like to have a dedicated contact person from BambooHR, i don't think we have ever spoken to the same person twice which can be frustrating. 

I would also like BambooHR to do an audit of our account to see if we are utilizing the software to its full potential with everything built out. 

I think that the overall price is reasonable. If we decide to stay with BambooHR i suspect we would upgrade to the Pro package so I would want time to consider if that is worth it. 

It does not currently integrate with Employee Navigator, that would be a helpful integration going forward.

I would love for the ATS to utilize an AI agent to assist me in screening resumes and presenting me with helpful information with my search. i would also like to ask AI to find me a candidate with "XXX skills" from the database. 

Overall I think BambooHR is a great product for smaller organizations. s a construction company we are hire heavy and I would really like for the ATS portion to be refined further. i would love to stay on BambooHR and have one software for all needs.

A few things have changed since my original review worth noting. We actually downgraded from the Pro Package to the Core Plan; not because of any dissatisfaction, but because we stopped using annual performance reviews and weren't utilizing Employee Community, so it simply didn't make sense to pay for features we weren't using. BambooHR made that transition easy with no drama.

What I want to add is this: the longer I use BambooHR, the more convinced I am that it's the right platform. The ATS continues to be one of my favorite features—I genuinely love it. Onboarding, offboarding, time off reporting, centralized employee data... it all runs smoothly and consistently, which matters enormously when you're a department of one supporting a fully remote team.

I also want to double down on something I said before about customer service. Every single interaction I've had has been with someone kind, genuine, and helpful. Even when the issue turned out to be my own user error which, I'll admit, happens more than I'd like. They've never once made me feel like a bother. That consistency says a lot about their culture.
BambooHR remains a breath of fresh air in a sea of complicated HR.

Dislike' still feels like too strong a word. There's nothing about BambooHR that I truly dislike.

A couple of small frustrations remain—the setup process for signature documents and some text fields within the job posting feature could be more intuitive. But these are minor quirks, not deal-breakers, and I've learned to work with them. I'm also confident they'll improve over time given how responsive BambooHR is to feedback.

Since my last review, we did downgrade from the Pro Plan to the Core Plan. We weren't using Employee Community, we moved away from annual performance reviews, and it just didn't make sense to keep paying for features that weren't getting used. Honestly? The downgrade was the right call and BambooHR made it painless.

Core covers everything we actually need, and I'd rather be on a plan where I'm genuinely using what I'm paying for. If anything, I'd still love to see more à la carte flexibility in their pricing structure someday but that's a wish, not a complaint.

I love using BambooHR for keeping track of my time, making PTO requests, and accessing my pay stub; it's my HR all in one. I find it easy to use when dealing with HR-related needs like timesheets, org charts, and pay information. The ease of use and simplicity of the menus stand out, and I think it's a truly beautiful app. I'm grateful for such a powerful tool that lets me get in and out as fast as I need, so I can focus on work that really matters. The initial setup was easy breezy.

Sometimes finding the exact piece of data can be a bit harder, maybe not quite where I would expect when searching myself. A simplified search capability would be amazing. It would be nice to have a quick-search tool to just easily and quickly find exactly what I'm looking for, whether a setting or a piece of info (like hourly pay) or something.

I find BambooHR to be insanely easy to use. The interface is really straightforward and foolproof, with everything exactly where it says it is, so I don't need to search around for information. It's also intuitive; for example, when I click on my profile, it takes me through everything I need, from personal details to documents. The system is set up in such a way that all the essential information is right in front of you, like who's off work and for how long, or who someone's manager is. It's just all very easy and quick to navigate, making my work more efficient.

I'd say the only thing is, it says to click on the calendar to do your calendar, but then you can't click on the calendar because it takes you somewhere else.

This slows my completion of onboarding paperwork and took additional time to resolve.

I think they could improve the integration of time-tracking tools. It would be helpful if BambooHR could track time within the system, including screen activity, so we wouldn’t need to use other apps for that.

BambooHR covers all the basics for employee HR onboarding and record keeping. Their UI is slick and modern.  The reporting feature is pretty powerful for someone like me who is working in operations.
 
For normal employees/Managers they have Mobile App and Integration with Slack which makes it easy to use in day to day situations like Applying and Approving PTOs.

Implementation was pretty easy and their onboarding team helped us get started. 

Overall highly recommended for companies of any sizes.

We are using Lattice for performance management of our team , BambooHR could have built this within their platform so we don't have to use two different tools.

I like the funtionality of BambooHR including PTO and benefits tracking. It's easy to navigate and figure out as an employee and not a HR specialist. You can customize your dahsboard to be able to see what you want to see when you log in. I personally like to use the PTO calculator, and the calendar with who else is out. It keeps track of important documents and performance reviews.

The PTO calculator doesn't work very well for non-salaried employees. I wish the peer review portion could me more customized for our purposes.
