The customization of sheets, reports, and dashboards. I work at a unique real estate company and smartsheet makes it easy to track inventory, commissions, invoices, support requests, and more. The billing process. We were sold on a promotion last year to increase our license count and take advantage of some premium training opportunities. We failed to reduce our licenses before our annual invoice was sent, and now we are working with our account manager to resolve this issue because we have no need for these additional licenses. The communication about this issue has been difficult and I hope we can get this resolved so we do not have to look into an alternative program for Smartsheet. Smartsheet has added value to our project management processes for our small, but growing nonprofit team. We have shifted from using Excel files to track our project progress and tasks into using multiple sheets in Smartsheet. Just about 9 months from starting our journey, we are starting to learn more tricks to improving our reports and dashboards to better balance our team's capacity and visualize progress toward completing deliverables. Although the tool feels familiar (like Excel), there are many nuances and it is very easy to set up a workstation incorrectly. There is much we still need to learn--it has been a process of trial and error. One downside to the tool has been the onboarding process. Our customer service rep who sold us the platform was not very responsive and did not connect us with our support team to help us learn how to use the tool to our best ability. We had to reach out to multiple other contacts at the company to find how to submit a support request and receive training, which we only got after we had already "self taught" ourselves and set up sheets in less-effective ways. In this way, we found that it should have been easier to implement the tool across our research team function--especially since we did not have any complex integrations to build out. I like that I can review tasks and data in different ways to present needed information to different audiences with different needs. I also like that it is user friendly and intuitive. I would like to see a guide to help with formulas. I often use the community page and the links within the formulas help for basic queries, but I often have complex queries and would like more information on how to use these. The best about Smartsheet, you will find solutions for almost all the needs in different ways. The tool is beginner friendly and support many operational tasks in addition to project management. It supports seamless integration with several other tools, and in most of the scenarios the implementation of workarounds was quite simple. I use it every single day, and it saves me some hours of manual work. I think one of the best things about Smartsheet is its flexibility. It combines elements of spreadsheets, project management tools, and workflow automation all in one platform. I've been using Smartsheet regularly for over 2 years, and have administrated and configured a long list of sheets used by a number of coworkers in our organization. Smartsheet is a great tool for collaborative work, especially in terms of monitoring and logging project processes in our organization. We use sheets to monitor changes in our rather large building projects portfolio, and reports and dashboards to communicate the proces to members in our organization. The workflow automatization is especially useful for us, as it allows us to automate a list of administrative tasks, such as logging changes and communicating these changes to relevant members. Moreover, the collaborative aspects of Smartsheet is of great use when prioritizing projects, as it allows members to register new projects via forms, and portfolio managers and executives to prioritize projects based on inputs. While Smartsheet is great on its own, it offers limited posibilites in terms of data intake. For example, we have found it almost impossible to automate data intake in Smartsheet from Google Forms or databases, without a hefty cost from buying extensions such as Data Shuttle. Moreover, while the forms available via Smartsheet are useful, they lack certain features. Especially the possibility to add tables limits its use in terms of collecting budgeting data, which have resulted in us using Excel as an alternative, resulting in us having to use external platforms to get the full use of Smartsheet. It combined the familiarity of spreadsheets with robust project management capabilities. I like the huge supply of templates, particularly those that are packaged with dashboards, etc set up. It's easy to use. Every time I introduce someone to Smartsheet, they're impressed that it's much more than project management software; I've created CRMs, training trackers, and more with it. As a PM I absolutely love the easy update requests feature - it allows even the most low-tech user to update the status of their task with no manual entry required from me. As more features are added, it becomes more complex. I've been finding the help feature / community board less helpful lately and rely totally on ChatGPT when I'm having an issue. With Smartsheet, I have the to better collaborate with my project stakeholders across departments. Since it is a software that is used organization-wide, the entire team has visibility into tasks and deadlines. It also helps with resource management and communication. Teams are able to align their plans and more efficiently manage resources across departments. This is my go-to tool for managing my own projects and helping others in my organization manage theirs. The Gantt view in Smartsheet could use some improvements. The best way right now to have a full view of the chart is to download in a PDF, but first, you have to play around with the size to make sure you can see it all. For me it's the automations, being able to create them to send emails at specific times, or when specific criteria are met. I use it for production planning and being able to get reminders when we need to get material in is fantastic, the automations are so easy to set up that I've created a full, detailed plan in roughly 2 weeks with no knowledge of smartsheet. The plan is used daily and the automations run flawlessly every day. I've had no reason to contact customer support as the smartsheet community is brilliant, any problem i've had i've been able to find help for on there and find an easy to implement solution. As it's all online and hyperlinks can be shared easily, the dashboard we use was a doddle to implement to a TV screen downstairs allowing real time viewing of our capacity.
