The customization of sheets, reports, and dashboards. I work at a unique real estate company and smartsheet makes it easy to track inventory, commissions, invoices, support requests, and more. The billing process. We were sold on a promotion last year to increase our license count and take advantage of some premium training opportunities. We failed to reduce our licenses before our annual invoice was sent, and now we are working with our account manager to resolve this issue because we have no need for these additional licenses. The communication about this issue has been difficult and I hope we can get this resolved so we do not have to look into an alternative program for Smartsheet. I like that everyone on our team has access to Smartsheet and are able to manage and make their own entries. Working in Constuction hours of communication can be different for everyone and that makes it easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I think what I dislike the most is that I have had trouble getting in contact with someone to help my team on our specific needs. We are looking to talk to someone who can walk us through specific things for our project team and we have not been able to talk to anyone. We have taken a couple Smartsheet courses and seminars, but they are more generalized and not too helpful for what we were looking for. (1) stricted reporting options, it would be useful to add columns esp. "calculated columnns" to a reports.

(2) pivoting data capabilities are restiricted (sheet summary), reports can not pull into excel, only sheets can.

(3) lack of security: for some reasons in a sheetwe need to collaborate with people which has different levels of permissions. i need to get data from an editor but not to let them to write on a locked column or row, where i need some superior permitted ones to edit locked cells. the only way to do this is giving admin permission level to the editors of locked cells. but in fact admin role is a superior permission level which can change the sheet owner and can be able to make big changes like deleting sheets. a permission level between admin and editor is needed.

(4) in sheet automations for sending emails to shared users, we need to send emails with not all shared users but a stricted group which make collaboration more effectively. putting an option to select a "group" to share is necessary for keeping productivity high and avoiding lots of unrelated emails.

(5) the previous pricing method was more understandable. new pricing model based on editor based pricing is not usable. we worked with so many people and the editors are very often change. keeping simplicity is destroyed with new pricing methodology. i strongly recommend Smartsheet to turn back the previous pricing options. I really like that Smartsheet can be updated live by multiple users at once. Being able to collaborate together ensures work is updated in real time and quickly. it's easy to learn to use and you can leverage automation to reduce back and forth communication with reminders and review points. We use Smartsheet to track progress, create estimates, manage schedules and dashboards to more easily digest data. It's easy to train team members on and we use it several times a week for various projects. We connect it to teams as well to see everything in one place. The downside of Smartsheet is while it is just like Excel it is not. There is no macro functionality and when you export a sheet to Excel, it is all hardcoded so you lose any formulas you may have had on the sheet. The formulas are different as well so they don't translate the same. Even still, it's helpful tool for everything else I like best. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Smartsheet provides me with most of the tools I need to manage my projects and maintain my PMO.

-Being able to store information in a spreadsheet form similar to Excel

-Being able to filter them using reports for presentations

-Being able to input data in different ways according to what they need to access and see using Dynamic View

-Being able to visualize my data in charts and dashboards

-Being able to connect with various connectors that I frequently use like SharePoint and BIM

-Being able to use it on a daily basis with minimal disturbances

-Customer support does reach out frequently for new features and for support needed

-Implementation of solutions is a easy as saving as using templates I already created for Projects, Programmes and Portfolios

I’m in SmartSheet everyday and couldn’t function anywhere near as efficiently without it. The sheets, reports, and dashboards are easy to customize and allow my team and our stakeholders to know what’s going on in our various global projects without needing to ask me. The reports especially have been crucial in helping me track what’s coming down the pipeline and plan out realistic timelines for new projects. I also leverage reports to manage workloads across the various individuals and teams I work with, which helps me ensure I’m not overscheduling resources. I wish there were more options for permissions. While you can assign general permissions to a sheet, it would be great if you could assign them based on task ownership. On my projects, I tend to just give out Viewer permissions because I don’t want the structure of the sheet impacted or other things changed. I’d like to give people the ability to update the status and completion percentage of tasks assigned to them without full Editor permissions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Smartsheet is a great tool to use when working in multi-department teams. Smartsheet allows my team and me to have a high-level view of the features coming on every release. The status of each release, the team in charge, when it will be delivered, and each Product Manager. Smartsheet's multiple options to create filters or group by options facilitates access to information, and it provides the same information in different formats according to the team that is using the app. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Smartsheet does not provide too many options for customization of its UI. Sometimes, teams ask if changing colors or even some parts of the design is possible, but the app has no feature. When projects are too big, finding the right tool or even the options to filter can get a little confusing. From a pricing perspective, if you are not a big company, some features can be restrictive as they require more expensive plans. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Smartsheet is easy to use and intuitive. It allows me to create and manage project schedules as a paid user, but I can share with unlimited number of viewers from other companies who are active on my projects. They do not need to be paid users; they can just start a free account. This allows for great collaboration. Everyone I share my schedules with gives me feedback on how easy the program is to use.

I can also monitor resource usage and availability across multiple projects. Using Smartsheet I can monitor fellow engineers' commitments on various projects to see when they have availability for new tasks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Just like Excel, I only use a fraction of the program's capabilities. Some are easy to use, some require a bit of research to learn... such as developing complex formulas in cells. But it does have all the capabilities I need and then some. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love how customizable and intuitive Smartsheet has been. I've been utilizing it for the past 5 years, and I can honestly say it's been such a great tool to keep project timelines organized and helping streamline automation between departments. There are so many ways you can utilize this tool, regardless if you're in project management or not. Everyone is their own project manager in some way, right? But the fact is, you can gear your sheets towards the department you are in. Whether that's sales, operations, procurement, engineering, etc. I am a huge advocate for Smartsheet, and will always be! Biggest downside is that BECAUSE it's so customizable, it takes a time to set everything up to get where you want to be. BUT once you're there, you can always make little tweaks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
