The fact that we can change to various views (Gantchart, cards, list,...) easily Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Not sure if it is a dislike but something that is missing or could be improved, is to be able to link different sheets. One could have a master sheet with various projects, and within a line, it would be nice to be able to call and link lines of another sheet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like that everyone on our team has access to Smartsheet and are able to manage and make their own entries. Working in Constuction hours of communication can be different for everyone and that makes it easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I think what I dislike the most is that I have had trouble getting in contact with someone to help my team on our specific needs. We are looking to talk to someone who can walk us through specific things for our project team and we have not been able to talk to anyone. We have taken a couple Smartsheet courses and seminars, but they are more generalized and not too helpful for what we were looking for. Would be easier if you could schedule one on one time with an employee of Smartsheet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The customization of sheets, reports, and dashboards. I work at a unique real estate company and smartsheet makes it easy to track inventory, commissions, invoices, support requests, and more. Its easy to collaborate with other departments and report to our ownership on goal progress with the reports and dashboards Ive created. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The billing process. We were sold on a promotion last year to increase our license count and take advantage of some premium training opportunities. We failed to reduce our licenses before our annual invoice was sent, and now we are working with our account manager to resolve this issue because we have no need for these additional licenses. The communication about this issue has been difficult and I hope we can get this resolved so we do not have to look into an alternative program for Smartsheet. This is an amazing platform that I have been using for 6 years, every day. It is not only for project management, but it also allows you to digitize multiple processes. The automation options gives you the capability to streamline repetitive administration tasks by effectively making use of workflows. These workflows are easy to set up and implement with a range of templates you can use. If you are starting out with Smarthsheet, there is an absolutely wonderul community of Smartsheet enthusiasts, who has a wealth of knowledge and who is there to support you with any questions. There are multiple integration options that comes with the available API as well as with the premium applications. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Smartsheet is an indispensable tool that I can't imagine working without, but like any platform, there's always room for improvement. Expanding locking capabilities to individual cells, not just rows and columns, would add greater control. While the ability to freeze columns is valuable, having the option to freeze rows would open up even more possibilities for building effective solutions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Excellent software for office workers, especially EAs and admin assistants for the follow up system. It can be accessible on my phone anytime anywhere. The record keeping is admissible in audits. The simplicity, and straight forward access (Even if you are bad in technology you can understand this). It is affordable. During emergency leave I can easily provide my deputy my work remotely on the spot. I like the new features added recently that allow for automation of follow ups and turning the action items red or moving them from the document to another. This is the best option for those who need to work remotely from home. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The Dashboard. It is clanky and doesn't let me use every possible category I want. It's also hard for me to explain to people how to use. As a secretary I don't need it so this doesn't damp my experience with Smartsheet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

(1) stricted reporting options, it would be useful to add columns esp. "calculated columnns" to a reports.
(2) pivoting data capabilities are restiricted (sheet summary), reports can not pull into excel, only sheets can.
(3) lack of security: for some reasons in a sheetwe need to collaborate with people which has different levels of permissions. i need to get data from an editor but not to let them to write on a locked column or row, where i need some superior permitted ones to edit locked cells. the only way to do this is giving admin permission level to the editors of locked cells. but in fact admin role is a superior permission level which can change the sheet owner and can be able to make big changes like deleting sheets. a permission level between admin and editor is needed.
(4) in sheet automations for sending emails to shared users, we need to send emails with not all shared users but a stricted group which make collaboration more effectively. putting an option to select a "group" to share is necessary for keeping productivity high and avoiding lots of unrelated emails.
(5) the previous pricing method was more understandable. new pricing model based on editor based pricing is not usable. we worked with so many people and the editors are very often change. keeping simplicity is destroyed with new pricing methodology. i strongly recommend Smartsheet to turn back the previous pricing options. Smartsheet is very useful for our organization because it has online capabilities. We had previously been using microsoft office Excel and it was hard to constantly be saving and resaving the document, to me the best thing about smartsheet is that it is live. It has a much simpler interface than anything on microsoft and is much easier to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Every report must have the exact same information as the master sheet. So if you have different reports that would be better suited to have different information, you need to have separate columns where you document it and then only include the necessary columns. Also, each smartsheet line does not have it's own "number" so if you are referring to a line number and then it gets sorted or rearranged, that line number is irrelevant. If you want to give each line a number, you may do so yourself.
You also cannot have a form edit or reference an existing smartsheet line. I get why you wouldn't have that, so people don't fill out your forms and screw up your data, but I often have to manually reconcile duplicative or redundant data that was supposed to go in another line. Smartsheets work great at tracking data and presenting it in an easy-to-read format via dashboards options with charts and graphs. We primarily use it to create forms and track responses. We use the workflow feature to assign tasks for each form response to make sure it's reviewed by the appropriate people and completed. Having a dashboard feature makes it easier to visually share large amounts of data and information. We utilize our dashbaords to have forms, important information/reminders and data all in one snapshot.
Working in higher education, we often have to share data accross colleges and this makes for a much better solution than other options. I like that the data can be shared across teams and that you can manage who has access to specific items.
Smartsheets also offers several different types of pre-built templates that you can utilize instead of starting from scratch. These can be helpful if you can find a version that works for your needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It does not have quite the same functionality as Excel, so if you are looking to splice your data in different ways, it is not the best tool. Also, I have run into issues with copying and pasting data from excel, which makes for more work to type data out manually. I'm used to pivot tables and quickly adjusting the information so this take a little more time to finesse the information.
Smartsheets also require a fair amount of training to understand how it works. If you are tech-savvy, you will likely pick it up faster than others. Once built out, Smartsheets functions better for those who are less technically inclined. They do have some templates but they are for a very specific purpose and not suited to some of the situations we need. I have been able to use them to as a starting point but it can be cumbersome to edit. It's almost as much work to start from scratch.
At times it does seem a bit clunky but they have been making some small improvements over time. I'm hoping they can allow for additional transferablity of data to/from other sources. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like that it is flexible and able to be customized so minutely. If you can think of something you want automated or connected across sheets and reports and portfolios you can most likely do it. You get so many options to move forward and great workable templates/ Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The learning curve can feel large to the average user. Smartsheets almost has its own language when you first get started that you have to understand and requires constant tutorials or googling to find what you might need. Once you get it down it gets much more straightforward. I also dislike that some of the best automation tools are behind expensive paywalls like Control Center. I like using smartsheets and the different settings that it to help you visualise your timings. This helps me as being dyslexic sometimes I find large blocks of text hard to digest, so the various styles to see it are a good feature.
Easy to use and get the hang of one you know how - I use it every day for work. It's easy to implement across projects and integrates well with templates etc. I've never had any issues and haven't needed to speak to customer support or anything so that's good! Sometimes I find it difficult to format my sheets, like making sub sections with indents can be a bit clunky sometimes. I think this could be improved as it's quite time consuming when it's not going to plan and can be a faff. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I have really enjoyed using smartsheets over the past 2 years. It's been a comprehensive way to link various sheets together to ensure that data is showing correctly in multiple places instead of having to remember to update multiple spreadsheets. I love using the dashboards as a place to easily see information from multiple sheets. The built in logic on the survey forms is also a neat feature that I've enjoyed learning how to use. The one thing I don't love about smartsheets is that it's fairly complicated and takes a little while to learn how to use. Sometimes the look of the sheets feels overwhelming to me as sheets can get very long, and the task lists can be long. The use of the right click isnt really there, and generally its less intuitive than excel or Google. You also have to save your work which at times I have forgotten to do.
