What do you like best about SAP SuccessFactors?

Comprehensive tool where you can implement tools for performance management, learning management and general HR management. Many aspects were easy to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP SuccessFactors?

As an end user I feel like the performance management piece could be difficult to navigate. It may have been a training issue but it was not addressed giving internal feedback to my employer when constantly going back and forth while preparing for my review. Recommendations to others considering SAP SuccessFactors:

Make sure it is easy for employees to navigate. I'm not sure if navigation issues were the product or a training issue. If it was a gap in training make sure the training is adequate as it can be difficult to manage goals if you have not been trained. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Easy to learn

Easy to set up for our customers.

It is also easy to explain to a new customer that has never worked with it.

What do you dislike about SAP SuccessFactors?

Support is terrible and sometimes takes a lot of time. There is some difficulty in the integration from RCM to ONB.

Implement recruiting for companies, configuration of all their system. We are doing on premises and in the cloud work but we are offering a full integrated solution to make sure that our customers benefits from all the aspects of the product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about SAP SuccessFactors?

The compensation module is excellent. Employee Central is also quite good. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP SuccessFactors?

The move to V12 for PM forms leaves the customer with limited configuration choices and the administration tools are not yet up to the functionality that customers get using SuccessFactory and the v11 forms. Also when running Employee Central, the integration with Compensation is not as good as it should be. Customers using data files for uploading the Comp forms have more configuration choices. Recommendations to others considering SAP SuccessFactors:

Be very critical if the reporting solutions offered. Even with advanced reporting and Boomi, the here are significant limitations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is SAP SuccessFactors solving and how is that benefiting you?

I have solved numerous business process problems by automating with SuccessFactors. I have also used the PM module and routemap functionality to automate other general HR process not tied to Performance or Compensation planning. Recommendations to others considering SAP SuccessFactors:

I would definitely recommend talking to other companies in your industry to see if SuccessFactors meets their needs and hear the pain points ahead of time to understand if they will be deal breakers for you. SuccessFactors offers many modules, but they are not always able to deliver on what is stated in the sales process. In order for our company to be successful we have had to create a partnership with an outside agency for our implementations and have purchased packages for ongoing support from that company. What problems is SAP SuccessFactors solving and how is that benefiting you?

Before SuccessFactors we were not able to have a line of sight into what goals were established across the company. Using this platform, we are able to write smarter goals, quickly report on those goals and each year this has helped us to refine our incentive plans.

What do you like best about SAP SuccessFactors?

I like the visual layout of the SuccessFactors system. We use modules for our Performance Management and Recruiting activities and overall the system is easy to navigate without having to read a lot of training materials beforehand. We recently rolled out the candidate rating portion of the Recruiting Module and this has been a huge win for our hiring managers and has made the whole process much more green. What do you dislike about SAP SuccessFactors?

The common thread among our HR Department is that the system is easy to use, but moves slower than we'd like. On the Recruitment Side of the house, the most common complaint is that you cannot disposition candidates in a group, you have to do it one by one. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Ensure you ask the right questions and get clarification on anything that may be a make/break point for you in regard to any of the modules. Know what you want from the system and make sure SuccessFactors can handle it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We've realized how important it is for our employees and our internal HR team to be able to complete things online. When enabling features in our systems, like SuccessFactors, that contribute to the above, it allows our workforce to be much more efficient and flexible in how/where they do their work. What do you like best about SAP SuccessFactors?

I was a system administrator for the SuccessFactors succession module from 2008 to 2010. I really like the user interface that SuccessFactors used. It included Flash and was intuitive, easy to navigate and sophisticated. I also liked the ability to customize our content (through a work order) and showcase information that was pertinent for us. I also was impressed that SuccessFactors conducted thorough testing before their releases. I had very rarely ever came across a "bug" in the system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP SuccessFactors?

I could have benefited from a more robust user community. At the time, clients were not assigned a Client Success Manager (perhaps this has changed, I'm not sure). Also, every time I needed to launch a succession task by copying an old task, I had to submit a work order. It would have been nice if that was something I was quickly able to do on the admin side. We needed a systematized way to store succession information. Prior to using SuccessFactors, we had our executives conduct succession planning in a PowerPoint template. It was painful to say the least. By automating this process in SuccessFactors, we were able to have full visibility, run necessary metrics, and have a birds-eye view of succession planning at our company. What do you like best about SAP SuccessFactors?

- The implementation consultants are top-notch.

- Ease of use for both administrators and users.

- Clean, professional look and feel (you can tell it is not lipstick on a pig).

- Language Pack - we purchased the Russian Language Pack since 75% of our employee population is in the Russian Federation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP SuccessFactors?

- The handoff from implementation to support is terrible. The support team has no access to the implementation consultants, resulting in excessive amount of time to resolve simple support issues. Routine, recurring requests take up to three (3) weeks to resolve. Rarely do I work with the same support resource, which means I have to start at Square One every time I submit a support case.

- Not all modules are fully integrated with the BizX suite, although we were led to believe all modules are fully integrated. While the Compensation module is robust and feature-rich, it is a challenge to integrate with the Employee Central module. Same goes with the Recruiting Module.

- SuccessFactors does not provide a fully functioning TEST instance. The TEST instance was used to implement the modules. However, the TEST instance is not refreshed on a regular basis. Each time we need our TEST instance refreshed, it costs $5,000. When creating new permission roles in our TEST instance, then recreating in our PRODUCTION instance, we get different results. In one situation, this was the root cause of a serious security breach, where everything tested fine in TEST, but not in PRODUCTION. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

- The company has over 1,000 employees worldwide. Before SuccessFactors was implemented, weekly headcount reporting was done using five (5) Excel spreadsheets, prepared by an HR user in each of our five (5) regions around the world. The weekly headcount report took 1 ½ days to prepare and validate.

- With SuccessFactors, the weekly headcount report takes less than 1 hour to prepare and validate.

- Global employee data is up to date and accurate.

- Employees worldwide now use one system for Performance Review, Annual and Quarterly Goal setting, viewing organization charts and their own personal and employment information.

- SuccessFactors is our single version of truth related to global employee information. It is a valuable tool for both HR and Finance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
