What do you like best about SAASTEPS Revenue Lifecycle Management?

Field Mapping blows SFDC CPQ's out of the water. Graphical interfaces, which SFDC CPQ doesn't even have anything to compare with. Renewal management is accurate, easy, and again has very helpful a very helpful graphical UI. SaaSteps CPQ is simply a joy to implement and administer. Any Salesforce admin can do it, no developer needed -- like the reams of developers needed to maintain SFDC CPQ. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Its strongest point is also its Achilles' heel. Because it focuses so much on ease of use and standardization, sometimes you run in to challenges customizing, something that large enterprise clients will always need to do. Self-service sales 100% from Salesforce and which can integrate directly with our very complex Salesforce process.

Accepting payment card for one-off B2C sales; though it also accepts any other kind of payment you set up (ex. POs and bank transfers).

What do you like best about SAASTEPS Revenue Lifecycle Management?

Out of the box, the SAASTEPS tool supports complex subscription management with the ability to visualize account opportunities, add subscription dates to line items, and automate subscription renewals. Our implementation team worked directly with us to meet our unique business needs and even went a step further, helping us customize our Salesforce environment to have better revenue reporting. Overall, our sales team is more efficient, our management team has better visibility into business operations, and our Salesforce administration team has more time to focus on other items. What do you dislike about SAASTEPS Revenue Lifecycle Management?

Our business has a complicated sales history, which made it difficult to update historical Salesforce opportunities with the SAASTEPS software. Though we were not able to get all functionality on historical opportunities, the SAASTEPS team dedicated a few weeks of their time to helping us get all reporting metrics added and the software works great for new/open opportunities. What problems is SAASTEPS Revenue Lifecycle Management solving and how is that benefiting you?

Originally, we began looking into subscription management platforms to help us better track opportunities v. subscriptions. With a growing product portfolio, many of our customers have separate subscription dates, creating a complex environment to manage renewals and expansion opportunities. SAASTEPS CPQ + Revenue Management enabled us to have a separate "Subscription" record that manages renewal dates, automates the renewal creation process, and merges expansion opportunities with existing opportunities simplifying subscription reporting. The software also comes with a price book hierarchy feature that allows admins to configure which products are available for sales users to see and use. The way the software is set up, it also eliminates the need for complicated renewal process flows; users can easily map fields from opportunity to renewal, opportunity to account, etc. Lastly, the SAASTEPS team provided customization services to track revenue by product line rather than an opportunity, which provides better visibility into our sales operations. If you're looking for a business solution where you will use all of the features, and the features can be tailor fit to your business need SAASTEPS CPQ + REV Management is a great option. Our previous CPQ was an out of the box general solution where we maybe used a small fraction of the features becuase they did not pertain to our business. The fact that SAASTEPS CPQ is custom fit to integrate into our Salesforce CRM instance and we will be using all of the features, and all features tie into our business processes is what drew us to partner with their team. The ecommerce portion of their offering will also allow us to integrate custom storefronts into our business model to provide customers with a branded, professional, and custom portal option to make it easier to do business with us. What do you like best about SAASTEPS Revenue Lifecycle Management?

Encore is well thought out in terms of its design. It manages a wide range of renewal strategies and use cases. Our business processes a large number of renewals, under a variety of contract types, and we have never faced a problem with Encore that had no solution.

SAASTEPS support is fantastic. They truly care about customer success, joining a true partnership with your company and Salesforce team. You are never just a number at SAASTEPS. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAASTEPS Revenue Lifecycle Management?

Encore can be a little trigger happy with its error validation. Rather than validate information at the time it is needed (such as renewal generation), it often validates information at the time it is entered. This has caused some friction with our Sales department, which often needs to enter incomplete data, to be improved later by other teams.

Also, the creation of renewals can be a resource-heavy operation, due to multiple creates/updates being performed against opportunities and their products, and other Encore objects. Because our opportunity object is highly customized, this has led to some problems with CPU timeouts. Renewal creation is our most expensive operation in Salesforce, and most at-risk of failure. Recommendations to others considering SAASTEPS Revenue Lifecycle Management:

Just be aware of the efficiency and validation issues above, and design your solution accordingly. If you use a lot of managed packages that interact with the Opportunity object, then make sure that you isolate their respective updates from one another, as much as possible.

Also, be aware that Encore kind of takes over the opportunity object, which can lead to some licensing issues. We've run into issues where an unlicensed user isn't able to make unrelated updates to an existing opportunity, because the opportunity owner wasn't a licensed Encore user. What problems is SAASTEPS Revenue Lifecycle Management solving and how is that benefiting you?

Prior to Encore, our renewals process was done entirely by hand. Our financial system held some annual invoice-creation records, but it couldn't manage the specific complexities of our business model. Thus our renewals team had to update nearly everything manually, and many renewal invoices (and therefore much revenue) fell through the cracks.

Encore has helped to scale our business remarkably. While our customer base has increased several times over, our renewals team has remained the same size, with the majority of their opportunities being billed without need of review. Additionally, having our renewals in Salesforce has allowed us to implement entitlements that manage support contracts automatically. We no longer give free support to those who haven't paid, because we have all the information needed to know a customer's status in one system -- Salesforce.
