We started using ShareFile more than 2 years ago. Our challenge was to share files securely with outside partners and contractors and we did not want to provide them access to our Intranet or internal shared folders. It was very easy to start and setup. One does not need to be from IT background to start setting it up. The files stored are encrypted and easy to upload and share with others. I also like the fact that it is easy to share with people who do not necessarily have a ShareFile account. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The permission control not as granular as in SharePoint but again this drawback applies to all cloud based file sharing solution. It is a little on the expensive side. Once in a while you have to login to the web interface to perform certain trivial actions. I wish everything could be done from the ShareFile desktop client. I don’t have anything bad to say about my experience with sharefile. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sharefile is really useful and easy to send files to co-workers. It works like a network folder similar to dropbox where you can put files in the sharefile folder that you want to share and the recipient will be able to open it from their end. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only downside is that it is hard to search for files if you have tons of files in the Sharefile. And you are not able to simultaneously edit a file. You can access the file as view-only if the files is already editing by someone you have shared with, Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It’s really convenient app which helps to share file, folder in quick time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
- It’s authenticating process, would be better if it can be authenticated by window authentication procedures. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We liked ShareFile because it is easy to use. The Outlook plugin allowed clients to send files and emails with a few mouse clicks. We created our own folders and shared with our clients. We could send large files, and ShareFile helped us scan potentially dangerous content, which is a huge plus. ShareFile has the ability to control which network users access the account. We also liked SharingFile because it supports a large number of file types. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There was nothing that we didn’t like in this software, it did a great job with the tasks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
- Easy to use with multiple ways to share files.
- Provides an option to send other people a link to upload documents to if they don''t have a means to transfer files
-Allows the ability to replace an uploaded file with a newer version without having to resend a new download link. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't really dislike anything. For what it's intended this works great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love the file capacity of ShareFile. This helps because in my work we often have large files that need to be sent to our clients and our email client does not support large files. I love the tracking option so that I can not only tell when my email is being read but also when the attachments are downloaded and how many times the attachment has been downloaded. Sometimes the main platform can be a big too much visually. I liked the older version better. Also, it can take a while to discover the functionality of the program. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sharefile is extremely user friendly. It has file sharing and file syncing options. It also provides access to collaborative workspace. It is highly secure and reliable. It provides timely customer care. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sharefile takes long to transfer files if your internet connection is not strong. It can be pricy especially for small businesses. Uploading files does not have a drag and drop option in sharefile. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The thing I like best about Sharefile is that it gives me the ability to email and receive emails with sensitive personal information. Enrollment forms with DOB and SSN, birth certificates, COBRA notices, etc. are all able to be sent via sharefile in a secured format that only allows myself and the recipient to access. There are some carriers that are not able to access documents via sharefile. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It allows for a streamlined file sharing system, that incorporates one system for the employees and clients. The fact that the emails are scanned for viruses before being released is an added for of needed security against outside threats. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There wasn't anything that I particularly disliked about Share File as it is simple to use and very effective. The only thing I can maybe suggest is having the system automatically release emails if it was found not to have any threats. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
