"Secure, Fast File Sharing with Clear Permissions, Audit Logs, and Great Integrations"
What do you like best about Progress ShareFile?

I really like how easy it is to share files securely without worrying about data leaks or wrong access. The platform feels professional and reliable. Especially when sending sensitive documents, it gives me full control over who can view, download, or edit files, which builds a lot of trust. Uploading and downloading files is faster and smoother, even for large documents. I like that it works well on both desktop and mobile. so I can access files anytime. The user interface is clean and simple, so even non-technical users can use it easily. It supports secure links instead of email attachments, which reduces email clutter. The permission settings are clear and flexible, not confusing like some other tools. I appreciate the audit logs, which help track who accessed what and when. It integrates nicely with tools like Outlook, Microsoft 365, and other business apps. The branding options make it feel custom and professional when sharing files with clients. It gives peace of mind knowing files are encrypted and compliant with security standards. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Progress ShareFile?

The pricing can feel a bit expensive, especially for small teams or startups. Some advanced features take time to understand, especially for first-time users. The interface, while clean, can sometimes feel slightly outdated compared to newer tools. Mobile app features are useful but not as powerful as the desktop version. File organization could be more flexible, especially when managing many folders. Notifications can sometimes feel too many or too basic, without fine control. Initial setup requires some learning, especially when configuring permissions. Customer support response time can be slow during peak hours. Bulk action on files could be faster and smoother. "Secure, Reliable, and Perfect for Managing Design Files"
What do you like best about Progress ShareFile?

What I like best about ShareFile Virtual Data Room is its balance between security and ease of use. As a designer, I regularly work with large files like PSDs, AI files, videos, and complete brand folders, and ShareFile handles them smoothly without performance issues. The permission controls are extremely useful, I can decide exactly who can view, download, upload, or edit files, which protects my creative work. Version control helps avoid confusion during revisions, and the clean folder structure makes project organization simple. Overall, it feels professional, reliable, and client-friendly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Progress ShareFile?

One drawback is that some of the more advanced features can take a bit of time to grasp for first-time users, especially clients who aren’t very tech-savvy. At times, the interface can also feel a little corporate, particularly when compared with more design-focused tools. The pricing may seem somewhat high for freelancers or small teams, but the security and reliability largely justify the cost. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Secure, Structured Collaboration Beyond Basic File Sharing"
What do you like best about Progress ShareFile?

The best thing about this platform is that it goes beyond basic file sharing; it gives my cross-functional team a very secure and fine-structured way to share files, collect documents, manage tasks, and create workflows across different platforms. Their client portal experience is very effective in helping clients, and lets us know where to sign and validate it in a very secure way, rather than relying on scattered email threads. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Progress ShareFile?

Though this file is very powerful, those features are overly packed compared to what's needed to share the files. Some of their complex workflows and automation capabilities are hidden under the bigger tier plans. For smaller teams, it's a bit difficult to cope with this platform. Their interface should be polished and a bit intuitive as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Secure and Efficient for Document Management"
What do you like best about Progress ShareFile?

I use ShareFile Virtual Data Room to securely store, manage, and share sensitive business documents with team members and external partners. I like the strong security and easy document management features. The strong security features give me confidence that sensitive documents are protected through controlled access and permissions. The document management tools make it easy to organize, find, and share files quickly. I appreciate that the initial setup was straightforward and didn't require much technical effort. Creating the account, organizing folders, and setting user permissions was simple, enabling our team to start uploading and sharing documents quickly without a complicated onboarding process. I also use ShareFile Virtual Data Room alongside other productivity and collaboration tools, which helps keep files organized. I integrated it with these tools to make it easier to share important information with team members during projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Progress ShareFile?

One area that could be improved is the user interface, which can sometimes feel a bit complex for new users. Simplifying navigation and speeding up file uploads for larger documents would make the platform even more efficient and easier to use. Improving the user interface with a more modern and simplified layout would make navigation easier, especially for new users trying to find files or manage permissions. Faster and more stable uploads for large files would also enhance the experience, particularly when sharing multiple documents during time-sensitive projects. "Organized, User-Friendly with Room for Improvement"
What do you like best about Progress ShareFile?

I really like how organized and simple Progress ShareFile makes everything. The interface is clean, and all my assignments, uploaded files, and feedback are in one place, eliminating the need to search through multiple folders or chats. Tracking my progress is a breeze with every update, correction, or submitted work being clearly visible, helping me understand where I stand and what needs improvement. I appreciate the smooth sharing system, where uploading or updating a file takes only a few seconds, and teachers can instantly check it, which saves time and reduces confusion. The transparency it provides is also valuable because it motivates me by allowing me to see my growth over time. The simplicity, speed, and clear progress tracking are what stand out to me most. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Progress ShareFile?

While Progress ShareFile is very helpful, there are a few areas where it could be improved. One issue is that the loading time can sometimes feel slow, especially when opening larger files or checking multiple updates quickly. Another thing that could be better is the notification system. Sometimes updates or teacher comments are easy to miss. The interface layout, although simple, could offer more customization options—like organizing folders in your own preferred order or adding color labels. Additionally, adding a built-in chat or quick message option would reduce confusion when students need clarification on a file without switching to another app. Finally, sometimes the preview window for files feels small, and zooming or scrolling can get a bit difficult. "Secure, Efficient and Insightful for M&A Deals"
What do you like best about Progress ShareFile?

I value the Click Trails feature for providing granular insights into which investors are serious, as it shows me who is actually reading the materials and how long they spend on specific pages. This helps us gauge serious interest effectively. I also appreciate the ability to quickly bulk upload folder structures without the system crashing or losing data hierarchy, which saves a lot of time during deal preparations. The integration with Citrix Right Signature is crucial because it ensures an NDA is signed before entry, and I love the Office 365 plugin that allows quick edits to Word documents directly in the browser. Setting up ShareFile Virtual Data Room was surprisingly fast thanks to pre built industry templates, and their support team was very responsive in helping us define permission groups correctly. This balance between strict security and usability gives us confidence during audits. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Progress ShareFile?

The automatic watermarking is sometimes a bit too heavy and obstructs the text when viewing on a tablet or small screen. I also find that the initial invitation email sometimes goes to clients' spam folders which causes delays. It would be helpful if the guest login process was slightly more streamlined so we did not have to explain it so often. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Secure Control with Some UX Friction"
What do you like best about Progress ShareFile?

I value the quiet confidence ShareFile Virtual Data Room gives me once files are uploaded, relieving me of worry about misuse or loose ends. This platform provides a sense of control and calm, as I know exactly where my files are, who can access them, and when that access should stop. It changes how confidently I handle serious conversations and important exchanges. I also appreciate how the initial setup was supportive rather than demanding, making the adoption process much easier without needing a guide. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Progress ShareFile?

There are moments when the experience feels heavier than it needs to be. Simple actions sometimes take more clicks than expected and that can break focus when I am already dealing with sensitive work. The layout can also feel crowded which makes quick navigation harder than it should be. In situations where I am under pressure that friction is noticeable and I wish the tool stayed more invisible instead of demanding attention. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Secure and Intuitive File Sharing for Sensitive Documents"
What do you like best about Progress ShareFile?

I appreciate the advanced activity tracking feature of ShareFile Virtual Data Room; it's incredibly useful to see when a client or auditor has viewed or downloaded a document. This gives me peace of mind and helps me follow up at the right time. I also like the clean and intuitive interface, which means that external guests can usually figure it out without needing instructions from us. Moreover, the ShareFile plugin for Microsoft Outlook is handy, as it allows us to attach large files or request secure uploads directly from our email window. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Progress ShareFile?

The search functionality could be improved. Sometimes it is difficult to locate a specific file inside nested folders if you don't remember the exact file name. Also, the pricing feels a bit on the higher side, especially when we need to add temporary users for a short project. The main issue is the lack of advanced filtering within the search results. Often, when I search for a generic term like Agreement or Invoice, the system pulls up hundreds of results, including very old archived files. It would be a huge improvement if we could easily filter search results by Date Modified or restrict the search to a specific subfolder to narrow down the list quickly, rather than scrolling through everything. "Exceptional Security, Highly Efficient Setup"
What do you like best about Progress ShareFile?

I appreciate how seriously ShareFile Virtual Data Room treats data protection, offering strong encryption, granular permission controls, and customizable access levels. I feel confident that sensitive documents stay confidential with features like view-only modes and dynamic watermarks. Role-based permissions are a big part of why ShareFile Virtual Data Room feels trustworthy and practical. I also love that the dynamic watermarks automatically embed the viewer's identity, which encourages safe sharing. The initial setup was quick and easy. Account provisioning and basic configuration were fast, and we could create the data room, folder structure, and user groups within a short time. Uploading documents, including bulk uploads, was smooth and reliable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Progress ShareFile?

1. Pricing can be high for smaller teams. Pricing feels on the higher side, especially for startups or smaller deal teams. Some advanced VDR features are locked behind higher tiers, making it hard to justify for short-term or one-off projects. We sometimes have to be selective about when to use the VDR versus lighter tools for less sensitive work. 2. There are a few other areas where ShareFile Virtual Data Room doesn’t fully meet our expectations, especially when we compare it with newer or more specialized VDR platforms. None of these are deal-breakers, but they do affect day-to-day efficiency. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Secure and Efficient, But Lacks Advanced Features"
What do you like best about Progress ShareFile?

I love using ShareFile Virtual Data Room as a secure online platform to store, share, and manage confidential documents, which is particularly useful during processes like M&A, fundraising, audits, legal processes, and due diligence. I greatly value the granular permissions and access control, which allow me to assign very specific rights to users or groups, such as view-only, edit, download, print, or set folder-level limitations. The platform's security gives me peace of mind when sharing media and data with friends, as I don't need to worry about sending it through different means. The initial setup was very straightforward, making it easy to transition from using a mix of tools like Dropbox, Google Drive, and email, which were hard to control for access and maintain proper version control as projects grew more complex. Additionally, integrating it with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace helps streamline work and support the overall deal or document process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Progress ShareFile?

I dislike the limited advanced VDR-specific functionality. Advanced Q&A or built-in diligence workflows that many VDR buyers expect may be missing or limited. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
