What do you like best about Pando?

Pando enables us to reset traditional performance reviews into regular just-in-time coaching conversations. Retention isn't as emphasized compared to recruiting and Pando helps us even the balance by giving employees the structure they're looking for to understand where they are, where they can go, and how to get there. The future of performance reviews is all about career development b/c people are looking to companies to not only tell them how they're doing, but how that calculates into their career goals. Pando helps us visually present to employees (and prospective hires) the career path for each team and that's the cheat code to retention in today's labor market. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Pando?

Pando's platform is emerging/building as a startup and has carved out a niche with modernizing assessments/feedback. They've been shipping new features rapidly and the product roadmap looks incredible. Hoping to see additional investment and even more success/growth for the incredible talent on the Pando team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Pando solving and how is that benefiting you?

Retention. Companies are great at recruiting, but retention is often an afterthought. Pando helps us give our employees what everyone is looking for - career development and a way to transparently communicate that effectively. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Pando?

After implementing, our team has shared that they love the transparency of levels and what moving up looks like. They love the simplicity and consistency of competency ratings from their manager (as opposed to a big empty text box and a subjective rating/ranking based on nothing). They love how easy it is to share feedback with their peers and their managers. They also love that it shows our company's focus on career growth and progression. Even our CEO has been singing its praises in company All Hands meetings! The support team made implementation easy and remained communicative throughout our first year to make sure we were aware of new updates and got all our questions answered. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Pando?

The implementation process definitely takes time – it's a big committment up-front if you want to get the full benefits of the system! I met with every department lead to get their input on appropriate competencies for each team, but that also helped us get engagement up at the start, since leaders felt bought in. What problems is Pando solving and how is that benefiting you?

What do you like best about Pando?

Pando has been able to offer a product that is not just a SaaS tool. It combines consultative support with technology in order to create an environment for leaders to support their teams with career progression and performance management. It doesn't stop there. It provides employees with clear expectations on skills and competencies for their role and roles within the company they want to consider developing into. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Pando?

No downsides to Pando other than they are an innovative and disruptive leader in this space. Organizations and leaders have to be ready for how this product will accelerate their talent's growth. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Pando solving and how is that benefiting you?

It is helping solve and support our commitment to equitable and inclusive performance management and development opportunities within our organization. Managers will now be accountable for assessing their talent against the same "rubric" - competencies and skills and not promote someone into a position they are technically not eligible for. It is also solving for our employee's consistent request to have visibility into what skills are required for them to be considered for promotion within the organization or development to align with their career aspirations. What do you like best about Pando?

Their competency library and consultative approach meant that we got my entire company leveled with just a few manager workshops and one rollout. Reliable levels allowed me to build compensation bands, improve recruiting processes, run a merit increase process. That was huge.

But I love that Pando seamlessly integrates leveling and performance mgmt. Pando is the first solution that truly allows us to ditch the cumbersome annual performance review. It gives execs more visiblity, managers an easier way to give feedback, and employees feel connected to their own growth.

The Pando CS team is amazing as well - they are right there any time I need anything. Even as a very small customer we get white glove service. They've co-led internal trainings for us, advised my CEO, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Pando?

There's not a lot of downsides that aren't already on the product roadmap. I've had lots of feature requests but the Pando team has a great philosophy on performance and have been aligned to my requests so a lot of what I want to see next is being built. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Pando solving and how is that benefiting you?

Like I mentioned before: 1) leveling is huge, and leveling that's tied to very clear competencies with robust defintions, and levels that have our companie's core values integrated as part of the competency framework! 2) continuous performance feedback, making our merit cycles incredibly simple and low lift 3) employee career progression and development Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Pando?

The transparency and clarity around careers is the most helpful thing about Pando. We have several roles and rubrics setup that show the expectations for each person at their level but also giving them insights into what other roles are available, and the expectations of those roles incase someone is interested in moving to a different area of the business.

The feedback element of Pando helps us all take ownership of our careers but having actionable feedback delivered at the time of the event from our peers and colleagues. This means we are all helping each other to grow and learn in the organisation.

The goals feature allows us to see how our individual contributions make up company wide initiatives at a strategic level while also being able to track the tactical goals that an individual contributes towards too.

The assessment process in Pando is extremely thorough, focussing on the competencies an individual is expected to be working to in their role at the level they are at. The ability to postively rate where individuals are at allows them to see the things they are doing well at and the areas of opportunity within a given competency.

We have integrated the platform with Slack as our primary communication platform and that integration on an individual basis is very straightforward. As we use Slack daily, we see the notifications from Pando daily too so we can get value from using Pando very quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Pando?

When done properly, the amount of time a full assessment can take is quite long. Although the process is time consuming, my personal feeling is that the amount of time invested is worth it to provide a significant amount of value between a team lead and the team member.

The integration with Slack is done on an individual level, it would be a lot simpler if this was done on a platform level so everyone has the integration enabled by an administrator. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Pando solving and how is that benefiting you?

Pando is helping us track how our team are growing in their careers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Pando?

We transitioned from our own Mastery Tracks to the Pando full-fledged system, which offers well-thought-out rubrics and a wide selection of competencies, allowing for highly customized rubrics. We appreciated the flexibility in building rubrics that suited our needs, as well as the scalability of the product. Additionally, the granular assessment of each competency enables incremental growth, unlike the binary system we used previously. Pando is straightforward to use, the team is very receptive to feedback, and very customer-focused, so we feel heard and experience a constantly evolving product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Pando?

I wish there was a smart way it integrated with Todoist, so the goals could somehow 2-way sync with Todoist. As a productivity company with our own task manager, we are struggling a bit to get buy-in from the team to use another product for setting goals. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Pando solving and how is that benefiting you?

We use Pando as our feedback loop, and it has been immensely helpful in creating the feedback culture that we have longed for years. People are now conditioned to provide constructive and helpful feedback to their colleagues to help them grow. We are also in the process of exploring the use of Pando's level system for mapping our compensation and employee stock options program in Carta, and the first signs are quite promising. What do you like best about Pando?

I love the transparency Pando offers our management team and our individual contributors. There is no more guess work around where people are in their growth or development. Pando's team helped us structure an expansive set of levels that allow our team to grow as IC's as well as Management without feeling stress to follow the professional norms of the industry. It also makes conversations and feedback easy between managers and employees. Our employees can now take their career into their own hands and see exactly what core competencies and behaviours they need to show in order to grow their career. Having the ability to.input and manage goals allows managers to gauge exactly where they employees are in their initiatives and objectives which allows for good feedback.

Because they connect to HRIS systems, it makes onboarding hassle free and allows us to connect leveling and accounts directly to our onboarding process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Pando?

I personally cannot wait until their is a 1:1 meeting function where employees are able to see real-time feedback and notes between them and their managers directly on the platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Pando solving and how is that benefiting you?

Because of it's transparency re: leveling transparency and goal setting, managers are able to have easier conversations surrounding career and development growth with their employees. Our leveling structure is solid and curated towards our company, and employees are able to see exactly where they need to grow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Pando?

Probably not a dislike but right now their Team has to create the rubrics for all new roles - I know it's on their roadmap to have this as a feature but it makes me

What problems is Pando solving and how is that benefiting you?

Prior to partnering with Pando, Scior employees would receive feedback in their one-on-ones and get evaluated on the tasks at hand. There wasn’t a central place for documentation and the feedback wasn’t tied to specific skills or competencies.

Because expectations weren’t clearly outlined, there was misalignment between managers and employees throughout the company. Without the behaviors or tasks to measure against, there was no way of demonstrating or comparing what different levels looked like across functions. The majority of employees regarded themselves as performing better or higher than their managers felt they were performing, indicating a clear need for transparent, competency-based conversations. Pando is helping to alleviate all of those challenges. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Pando?

Pando offers a really innovative approach to defining career tracks at your company to help employees and managers navigate conversations around career development. This has always seemed like a daunting task for an HR Operator, and working in a scaling startup, this can sometimes feel like a moving target.

I was responsible for implementing the Pando solution in our company of just under 100 employees. Our people were really excited for transparency and to have clarity on how we view compentency achievement and career progression. Pando's framework helped out managers drive deeper conversations in a more collaborative way that factored in feedback from across the org in real time. The process of designing and deploying the tool was very engaging. Highly recommend working with Pando! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Pando?

After developing a solid plan for our career levels, we also had to conduct a market analysis and revisit our compensation bands. I wish Pando had more resources to help with bringing the career levels in parity with the compensation structure. I believe this might be an offering in the future which woukd be high value! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Pando solving and how is that benefiting you?

Pando is solving for a strong feedback mechanism around performance that is captured in real time vs waiting for the annual review process. By adding Pando to our HR tech stack, we've empowered managers and employees to have more transparency in talking about career growth at our company. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Pando?

The platform is cost effective and easy to manage! I have used other software for employee reviews and I like the transparency and career development focus of this system. We picked Pando based on the cost, functionality, ability to grow with the software and the staff at Pando. I've been impressed with the customer service! Implementation was very custom and we had hands on help from Adam at Pando. Many systems expect you to set things up yourself. That's not the case here! Adam is also always open to feedback and ideas!

The tools allows our staff to view competency rubrics for our values based competencies and also functional competencies. No one can credibly say they don't know what is expected of them when you are providing the level of transparency that Pando provides! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Pando?

Because Pando is a newer product, at times we need to be patient with product updates or new features. However, this can also be an advantage because Pando does a fantastic job of seeking out customer feedback and passing that along to their developers. I have the opportunity to suggest features and sit in early stage v1 meetings to introduce us to new features that are coming (ie: meeting memorilization and note taking).

Your staff might feel they are duplicating work, by providing feedback and having coaching conversations verbally or in other systems and then needing to document it again in Pando. This is more of a systemic issue that Pando is mindful of and looks for ways to make it easier!

I wish it was easier to integrate with Rippling our HRIS tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Pando solving and how is that benefiting you?

Pando helps solve the complicated balance of career progression and performance management. Employees can transparently see what is expected of them based on rubrics, with tangible examples. Feedback can be tailored to expectations. Employees can receive feedback on a continuous basis, key to solving the level of interaction, feedback and recognition that employees in the world today have come to expect. We previously did not have an always on tool for collecting and memorilizing feedback and career development. We've moved the once a year performance review on paper to a a new way of thinking about feedback and career development. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
