What do you like best about OpenPhone?

Openphone is easy to navigate, easy to manage, and easy to use. Any bugs (which are few and far between) have been quickly resolved, and the support team has been quick to follow up and make sure everything was working well for us. We have only been using OpenPhone for a few weeks, but the transition has been seemless and it integrates into our other softwares well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenPhone?

Some settings are not available or harder to find on the mobile version, which can be a bother when we work in the field without an accessible computer. This is pretty typical across all messaging softwares I've used in the past, but still some room for improvement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is OpenPhone solving and how is that benefiting you?

OpenPhone allows us to communicate with our clients and seemlessly share information with coworkers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about OpenPhone?

Open Phone was easy to set up and port my existing business number to their platform. They had easy step-by-step instructions that made it simple to do so. Open Phone was also very responsive when I needed to set up my SMS campaign approval, and assisted in the process to make sure I was approved as soon as possible. I would recommend Open Phone to other small business owners that need phone/text capabilities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenPhone?

The only drawback I see with Open Phone is the lack of live customer support. They do have a quick turn around time when a ticket is submitted for tech support, but I could not get anyone on the phone or chat to solve the problem immediately. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is OpenPhone solving and how is that benefiting you?

The main reason I switched to Open Phone is because I needed texting capabilities for my business line. They made it a very simple process and I was approved as soon as possible. This benefits me by keeping me in touch with my clients. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about OpenPhone?

I live outside the US so I wanted a phone that would let me talk with friends and relatives, deal with my bank and allow me to respond to occasional questions from my work on genealogy sites without the expense of long distance overseas calls. With OpenPhone I can both talk and text which can be a real time saver. I had trouble getting my account set up as I kept getting "an error has occurred, please try again later". I contacted OpenPhone and the support team spend a lot of time trouble shooting my problems and keeping me advised of their progress. I am now a registered user. I would highly recommend OPenPhone, if for no other reason, than the support team of Ezer and Wendell. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenPhone?

As with most VOIP systems, the call quality can become an issue when you are pushed through several layers of automated/ai answering systems. Since I am new to OpenPhonem, I don't have any other issues at this time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is OpenPhone solving and how is that benefiting you?

Contact with my US banks, investment company. Without OpenPhone, contact with the bank would be much more costly for me. It would be impossible for them to call me as most will not call an international number. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about OpenPhone?

The interface is very intuitive and simple, which is a huge plus over some of the other VOIP platforms that are designed for larger businesses that probably have a full time administrator who manages these types of things.

The messaging and phone tracking directly with contacts is also great, as it allows the team to see communication history with our customers and partners.

The cross platform integrations are also quite nice, which allow us to optimize workflow with our other project platforms without a lot of duplicated work.

The customer support has been helpful thus far in simplifying the transition to OpenPhone. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenPhone?

Currently, my biggest frustration is the lack of ability to search within Contacts by contact properties and assign Contacts to multiple groups without having to duplicate that contact in the process. We intend to use OpenPhone for direct communication with our customers but also bulk message distinct groups of our customers when appropriate (i.e. system updates and other important notifications that affect only that specific customer group). For the time being, I am having to develop a work around for this, but knowing how these database backends are built, this should not be an overly complicated feature to improve on for them. Hoping they take this to heart and see the value in a more featured search/filter/grouping Contacts function. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is OpenPhone solving and how is that benefiting you?

It is providing a simple, yet robust VOIP solution for small and mid sized businesses. For a small business like mine, having a platform that is user friendly for my team, while improving communication tracking and reducing the need for personal cell use for messaging is of great value. What do you like best about OpenPhone?

As a virtual assistant based in Lima, I needed a reliable U.S. number to communicate with clients and team, and OpenPhone has been a lifesaver! Super easy to set up, great call quality, and I love the voicemail transcription and texting features. It makes my work so much smoother. Highly recommend for anyone working remotely! 🚀👏🏼 Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenPhone?

I'd say that at first, it was a bit confusing to understand what happened with our initial business plan setup, but after some troubleshooting with my colleague, we figured it out. Other than that, it’s been an amazing tool! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is OpenPhone solving and how is that benefiting you?

OpenPhone allows me to have a U.S. number, which is essential for my work as a virtual assistant for U.S.-based companies. As a Spanish speaker, the voicemail transcription feature is incredibly helpful, ensuring I don’t miss any important details. Having this tool is a great opportunity for my professional growth, helping me improve my skills and expand my career in the remote work industry. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about OpenPhone?

I recently started using OpenPhone, and I have to say, I’m really impressed! What I like the most is how user-friendly the platform is. Setting everything up was a breeze, and the interface is intuitive and easy to navigate. Even if you’re not tech-savvy, you’ll find it straightforward to use.

Another big plus is how affordable OpenPhone is compared to other similar services. They offer great value for the features they provide, making it a smart choice for individuals or small businesses looking for a reliable communication tool.

I also appreciate that they offer a free trial. It’s always nice to test out a service before committing, and OpenPhone’s trial period gave me the chance to explore all the features and see how well it fits my needs. In fact, I liked it so much that I subscribed before my trial even ended!

Overall, I highly recommend OpenPhone to anyone looking for a cost-effective, easy-to-use phone solution. It’s been a great experience so far, and I’m excited to continue using it! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenPhone?

For some reasons my phone # was tagged as Likely Spam for some of my recipients. I had to reach out to their customer support and they responded immediately. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is OpenPhone solving and how is that benefiting you?

OpenPhone is solving several key pain points for me, but I would like to say about its affordability. OpenPhone solves the problem of expensive and overly complicated business phone systems. Traditional solutions often come with hidden fees, clunky interfaces, or require technical expertise to set up. OpenPhone, on the other hand, is affordable, easy to use, and doesn’t sacrifice functionality. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about OpenPhone?

- I can anonymize my personal phone number and not give out to every single client by using a number that still rings my own cell phone

-I LOVE setting business hours so it doesn't ring my personal cell late at night (we have some international clients)

- We are using their beta call logic so we set up a phone tree where it rings several of our sales reps so we can share the responsibility of answering calls

- For compliance reasons, I need to have these calls recorded and their AI tool that records + transcribes + summarizes the call is SO useful

- Their customer support is really helpful — the last guy I spoke to was super patient as we triaged a situation

- We use this for all of our incoming customer support calls and haven't had an issue with volume (we have 300 clients so far)

- It was easy to get started and spin up other numbers for other areas of our business (we have an advisory line, support line, and my own separate line on Open Phone) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenPhone?

- We're using their beta flow for setting up a phone tree and it was a bit tricky to get set up properly

- I've been told the audio sometimes sounds like I'm "under water" and I use an iPhone so I think it has something to do with the tech layer Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is OpenPhone solving and how is that benefiting you?

I didn't want to have to give away my personal number to all of our clients + I needed a way to record our calls for compliance reasons + needed an easy phone tree solution for our sales team Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about OpenPhone?

Openphone has helped me in my business more than I really anticipated. I originally used google voice and thought that it was a decent enough phone system for just myself and my business partner but I disliked it's lack of features.

I find that openphone is affordable, user friendly, and saves time with features like snippets and great visual voicemails. Also the notes feature helps me to remember important details about specific clients when they reach out.

The phone calls are always great quality and it's a really easy and reliable interface on the web or on a mobile device. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenPhone?

the system could use a spam filter and be a little more intuitive with clearing notifications/marking things as read. Also maybe an automation after a missed all feature would be great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is OpenPhone solving and how is that benefiting you?

Letting multiple users from my company access the same phone line, communicate with clients, and have access to conversations across devices easily. The snippets save me time being able to quickly give clients information on how are process works and the next steps to take is great. I feel no need for an assistant to answer the phones for me because the features helped me manage the load, shorten my time stuck on with a client, and has been such a benefit to my operation. What do you like best about OpenPhone?

I love how OpenPhone easily integrates multiple users into one phone line that can be easily managed. My team has 5+ members that routinely use our phone line to call/text over 200+ external partners, and OpenPhone easily logs everything we do into our CRM (Hubspot). OpenPhone's user interface is very easy to use, and I completely prefer this platform to our previous phone/voice provider, Zoom. Overall, I love how easy OpenPhone makes it to seamlessly connect with our clients while also maintaining those records for future reference. I also love the company newsletter that gets sent out at the end of the day - I think it's clever! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenPhone?

Nothing so far, but I would consider maybe adding video conferencing to be a more comprehensive platform. However, this would be far in the future :) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is OpenPhone solving and how is that benefiting you?

We had problems keeping track of calls/texts across our wide array of clients, but OpenPhone fixed that by easily integrating with our CRM (Hubspot) to save these communication records. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about OpenPhone?

I work in an automotive industry, primarily logistics and accounting, so you can imagine how much calls and text I receive every day. So.. What i like:

- I can use OpenPhone with my team

- I can create several phone numbers for my co-workers

- NO freezes, additional charges or server failures. In our business we have to stay online 24/7. OpenPhone is what you need to be in touch with all your subcontarctors

- No calls or texts to your personal phone. Work stays in an OpenPhone app

- Easy to use, no need to explain your colleagues how to call or add a contact

- Customer support is always answering. If you used another apps, you will understand.

So I am using an OpenPhone for last 3 or 4 years and had nothing better for a everyday use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenPhone?

I have an IPhone and Android, so in the past it did not work on Android as good as on IPhone. Now it seems they fixed that and Android became way more smooth and easy to use.

Sometimes verification codes do not go through, but send them couple of times, it usually fixes the issue.

Still that is the best you can get on the market! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is OpenPhone solving and how is that benefiting you?

You do not have to use your personal phone for calling and texting subcontractors. When you have 200+ people working with you, it really makes you happy to have additional phone number Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about OpenPhone?

Easy to use and feature rich. I like that it is a separate app on my phone so I can keep my business and personal lives separate. I love the Zapier integration so I can automate some common messages. Like that they seem to be always developing and improving the app. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenPhone?

Call quality is not great a lot of the time. I can hear the delay happen often when talking to clients and the initial connection time is almost always long. Leads to a lot of "can you hear me?" issues. Also, the app frequently bugs out when trying to answer a call and will keep ringing even though I've answered the call. Both myself and the person on the other end will hear the ongoing ringing and the only way to stop it is to end he call and try again. I can live with these issues, but I wish they would find a way to improve the connection.

My biggest complaint is the pricing model. When I signed up I don't recall there being different plan levels. But as they have grown they've gotten greedy. Instead of viewing new features as a way to delight existing customers and attract new ones, they instead only release new features to higher plan levels and try to get you to upgrade. The next plan up costs 3x what I currently pay. These are features that I think should be pretty standard like forwarding a call to another user and call trees. I hate that approach. You've built the features, use it to keep existing customers engaged and attract new businesses to you instead of constantly trying to squeeze more money out of small operators. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is OpenPhone solving and how is that benefiting you?

It is our primary voice and text communication with clients. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
