I'm personally a big fan of N-central's Patch Management Engine and how it sets us up for success with ensuring that our client fleet is patched and up to date not only with Windows OS, but also with third party patching. Another thing we enjoy is the granularity with numerous components of the tool. Whereas we've piloted other RMM solutions in the past, they don't come close to N-central in those regards. The UI also isn't overcomplicated and often proves easy to teach to new techs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are decently simple quality of life features that other RMM tools have built in that N-central is either very late to the party on, or simply has no current intentions to design and implement into the platform. i.e. it took a significant amount of time to add the bulk Update Asset Info feature to the platform whereas other RMMs implemented this feature quite long ago. As a Support Centre Manager in an MSP environment, I've had the privilege of using N-central for many years, and I can confidently say that it is one of the most reliable and efficient remote monitoring and management (RMM) tools available. Overseeing multiple customers, I needed a solution that could provide deep visibility into their endpoints and give me the flexibility to manage and support them all seamlessly. N-central did exactly that, offering exceptional oversight and significantly streamlining day-to-day operations.
The automation features, in particular, saved a tremendous amount of time and resources. From automating routine maintenance tasks to setting up proactive alerts and remediation processes, N-central allowed my team and me to focus on more strategic tasks while reducing the manual labor often associated with endpoint management. It truly transformed our workflow and increased productivity across the board.
Since transitioning to a new company and establishing an internal IT department, one of my first actions was to implement N-central. I knew from my experience with the product how vital it is for managing and securing endpoints at scale, and it has been indispensable in helping me build an efficient, proactive IT operation.
N-central is a fantastic product that equips IT managers, CIOs, and MSPs with the tools they need to manage their environments effectively. It scales easily, integrates with various third-party applications, and provides powerful reporting and analytics that help identify potential issues before they become problems. I would highly recommend N-central to anyone in a similar position who is looking for a reliable, feature-rich platform for endpoint management. Whether you're an IT manager in a corporate environment or an MSP handling multiple clients, N-central is a solution that will undoubtedly make your life easier. Really nothing... I am extremely happy with what the N-Central offers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I use N-Central constantly, it not only monitors our clients, but recent enhancements allows for direct chats with the users too without having to log on to the device
N-Central is easy to deploy and user friendly
The Automation Manager allows complex workflows to be built that anyone can run
The team is consistently working to improve the platform as well
N-Central easily intergates with our PSA and has API features that allows for impementations into your own platforms Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are a few features that can be built upon such as better tracking of offline devices or devices where the agent has not been fuly deployed
The ability to auto remove devices that have been offline for more than x days is also something that may be beneficial
The initial setup can be a bit complex, but the team is readily available to assist with any queries and connect to your instance to work through the issues with you Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Easy to use for the most part unless you are trying to get into really complex stuff. Overall satisfied with the tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Analytics needs to be refined. Hopefulyl the form filled out at the conference will bring over some key features from Report Manager to help the tool. In addition, it would be nice to not have limitations within Analytics such as the details split across dashboards. We would like to make a consolidated 1 page report to provide to clients that ahs basic information. Things like # of assets, expired warrantys or upcoming expirations, # of patches ran the last month, etc. These would be a great addition to the current system. I would also like to see some better integration with the sentinel one integrated console. We would love to be able to push SentinelOne easily to devices, perhaps theres a better way but we would like to use custom properties to do so. It would also be beneficial to have an analytics tab on this to provide clients with a security report for the month. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Device details, specifically the monitoring tab is fantastic for techs to get a visual overview of device status and health.
The absolute wealth of built in monitoring is huge and the builtin automation to automatically add monitoring services to devices is super helpful, installing an Agent on a device with Hyper-V for example, monitoring is automatically added for CPU, Memory and Disk usage of the Host and each VM is monitored individually for uptime and autostart, it's a beautiful thing to see
I am really enjoying creating custom services to suit our clients needs and environments.
A simple PowerShell script was used to deploy Agents seamlessy from our old RMM and it took me less than 7 business days to migrate our 300 or so endpoints to NC Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The menu items in the main GUI can be a bit overwhelming at first but I got used to navigating the UI pretty quickly.
Maybe it's just me but it took me a while to wrap my head around the concept of Rules, Filters and Service Templates and how they work together and are applied.
I am now able to create a Rule with specific Service Templates applied to devices with a filter but only for a subset of customers, or even templatise my Rules at SO level with no filter added and simply clone at Customer level and add filter. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

N-central has an extensive range of features for managing Windows devices efficiently, and it integrates easily with existing systems, which makes it even more convenient to use. As I’ve been learning more about it through N-ableMe, I’ve been surprised at how many features I hadn’t taken advantage of before. Installing the N-central agents is simple, and once they’re on the system, everything works seamlessly. It’s easy to use regularly for ongoing management, and their customer support is fantastic especially the chat support, which has been really responsive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only thing I dislike about N-central is the lack of reliability with the macOS agents compared to the Windows agents. MacOS seems to always have issues that require way more time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We just got started with N-Able, so everything hasn't been implemeted yet. But from the demos, I can already see the possibilities available. We have been using primarily an AV, and as a cybersecurity analyst, I have had to often use other tools to do my work, which has required quite a bit of time and effort. The integration of everthing, along with being able to keep up with patching will definitely make N-Able a useful tool for me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I haven't used the tool enough to find too many faults. One of the things that I might see as an issue at some point is the amount of clicking inside the interface that is needed to perform certain actions. In some cases, I can see the need for it, so that you're not approaching something the wrong way, but it might be possible to improve on some of this. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is as a new update a few weeks to a month ago that allowed you to open a chat box with the end user. It has made it a lot easier to work on multiple end users devices at once while being able to have active conversations with each. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Lately there has been a lot quality updates that have made N-Central a lot better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The fact that i can pull a report on everything about the hardware in my company. From the CPU and RAM capacity to the windows license used to activate the PC. It makes tracking and monitoring an absolute breeze. Its also great how easy it is to roll out to your company as the discovery agent makes the intergration very seemless. My company uses N-able every day for our hardware tracking and the support team is always there to help find solutions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Finding some features are bit difficult as you need to go into a tab to find a tab that has a very specific function that doesnt really make sense as to why it would de under that tab. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Monitoring package is incredible, and the alerting is very straight forward and easy to understand.
Nable deployment is very clear and concise with deployment in less than a day for a large organisation.
The customer support is also really good should you need any assistance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Patching leaves much to be desired at times. It can be a little bit flakey; with numerous occations of missed updates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
