I find Mindbody to be a unified and comprehensive platform that effectively supports running my studio. Its well-known status in the industry and the community around it provide me with a robust network of shared knowledge and support. I find the learning curve a bit challenging sometimes, particularly when handling tasks like creating accounts and permissions, and navigating between the desktop and app versions of Mindbody. Additionally, I would like a more seamless experience across all platforms—app, desktop, and branded app. There should be consistency in data collection across these platforms to avoid any variations.

**What do you like best about Mindbody?**

Upfront sales pitch was very slick and the system looked promising.

**What do you dislike about Mindbody?**

We signed up to Mindbody with high hopes, but our onboarding and early use of the system have been among the most frustrating business experiences I’ve ever had. Despite extensive efforts on our side — including trying to work constructively with multiple contacts across different departments — the service has been chaotic, slow to respond, and riddled with technical problems.

Key issues have included:
Broken booking links at launch
Missing client data on import
Passes and login functions not working across locations
Persistent log-in loops and access errors for clients
Ongoing bugs in the staff and back-office systems
Unstable client experience requiring frequent browser cache clears
Failure to correctly apply free trial periods and subscription credits
Multiple issues raised, ignored, or delayed for weeks at a time

Most damaging of all has been the impact on client trust and our professional reputation. After nearly a month of firefighting problems and receiving minimal or no response from support, we’ve had to migrate to an alternative system — just to protect our business from further disruption.

Despite acknowledging many of these issues and even apologising in writing, Mindbody is now refusing to release us from our contract — locking us into a 24-month term on a system that is unusable. At this point, we are beginning to explore legal options.

If you’re a small or growing wellness business that can’t afford weeks of instability and reputation damage, I would advise extreme caution before committing to this platform.

I like the ease of signing people in to class and printing out class rosters with Mindbody. I also enjoy the fast, efficient check-ins and the ability to sort by last name, which make managing the yoga studio smoother.

**What do you dislike about Mindbody?**

It takes several 'clicks' to achieve a certain outcome. Like mat rental for instance. Seems like too many steps to do something simple.

Mindbody helps manage class registration, programming, and payments while integrating with Constant Contact. I appreciate how it makes signing people into class fast and efficient, especially with sorting by last name and printing class rosters.

The most major thing is the inability to set unique parameters for individual classes. For example, we have a policy that you must sign up 1 hour before class but we want to make this window different for our very early morning classes so they have to sign up the night before and it is not possible

I like being able to view my client appointments and information quickly. I find it helpful that I can track appointments and cancellations more easily. I like switching between day and week views of my schedule to better manage my time. The color coding of appointment status, such as confirmed, arrived, and paid, helps me stay organized.

I dislike that clients who have a Mindbody account can cancel appointments without me being notified of the cancellation.

**What do you like best about Mindbody?**

its very simplified and easy to use. does not take a rocket scientist to use. it makes the whole schedule part easy and being able to take deposits and the whole process simple. i use it quite often, pretty much my whole shift so its apart of all of my shifts and one of my main focuses. it was easy to integrate and implement into as a new employee i was able to catch onto it pretty fast. i have never had to use the customer support function because its been so easy to use!

**What do you dislike about Mindbody?**

i think some of the functions can be a bit clunky looking in the checkout/POS section of mindbody, but thats my only gripe. that section of the website can be made  a little better.

for guests to be able to book, have a schedule, book online, point of sale.

**What do you like best about Mindbody?**

The customer service line is not only always available, but also always helpful. They go to great lengths to support me and my business to ensure the software is doing everything I need it to do, correctly. They advocated on my behalf last year when the payment processor switched and my clients with HSAs were not able to use their accounts to make sure it was something that I would have access to again. I use it daily, I taught my receptionist to use it and she has a learning disability and was able to figure everything out to make my life as a practitioner easier. Everything I need to do, I can do. I love that it allows me to run reports, take notes, and do marketing. I've had MindBody for nine years and when I started they walked me through setup, when I upgraded, someone walked me through all the features. Another company recently tried to get me to switch and it wasn't even a question. I'm fully set to use MindBody longterm.

**What do you dislike about Mindbody?**

The tiered pricing can feel pricey to practitioners who are used to using free/cheap scheduling services, but if you're a bit of a control freak (like me), then you'll love being able to adjust all of the settings to your practice's specific needs. Some of the settings are minute and specific and hard to find on your own, but their customer service line is always available to help and has never let me down.

**What problems is Mindbody solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Online scheduling is huge for a massage therapist because we so often are not available for phone calls while giving treatments. It allows a lot of freedom for clients to book on their own and help me fill my schedule with ease. The check out process is smooth, I can run reports for payroll easily, I can block my schedule for vacation easily. Love all of the intuitive features.

Everything is organized and it is very easy to make updates quickly and efficiently. It is easy to add new clients and update their schedules as needed. Just a very efficient tool for me and my clients' needs.

I wish the "block scheduling" was a bit smoother to manipulate. In other words, sometimes it is annoying trying to hit "accurately" place the block in the proper section to set my schedule, but this is honestly not a big issue, just something that I do not have the most patience for at times.

It is making managing client schedules and further gym management tasks very simple and organized.

The support staff is great at helping guide us through whatever we need help with. They are patient and able to screenshare to walk us through the steps to be successful. They even send a follow up email with the overview.

The many services are pricey. I understand that all of the support comes with a cost.

Setting up charges for clients to purchase services remotely and attach discounts when needed to automatically happen when we turn it on. They helped us in the process of getting a branded app and even activating a bot on the site. When I have questions about settings they are very patient and helpful. I am able to screenshare with them and they walk me through the settings.

Mindbody has every feature I need to run my boutique yoga studio. I use the branded web so that clients can sign up for classes and manage their account right from my website. The reports are user friendly and help me keep on top of my business. Whenever I need help, the customer support responds very quickly and helps me right away. Over the years, my account reps have helped me to make full use of the marketing suite, automations, lead management and messenger, so I have multiple touch points to convert new leads to membership.

I wish that it was easier for people to sign up and pay for a guest.

We’ve been with Mindbody for years, and while the platform itself continues to evolve in great ways, what really makes the difference is the quality of service behind it. Alex took the time to truly understand the unique needs and financial realities of our business and worked with us to find a solution that made it possible to implement a new marketing automation platform—something that will absolutely elevate our engagement and growth. While the platform offers powerful tools, it can feel a bit overwhelming and complex at times—especially when trying to navigate setup or access support quickly. Some features require multiple steps or workarounds that aren’t always intuitive. That said, having a knowledgeable account executive like Alex has made a big difference in helping us get the most out of the system.

**What do you like best about Mindbody?**

We use Mindbody to accommodate a number of different departmental functions that are interrelated. From booking our appointments, our customers are thus charged and our staff are thus paid. There are no extra programs or software I have to use to bring payroll data to the point of processing payroll. Amongst other features like this, there is a lot of integration. 24 hour customer support was also essential to us in our earlier years of using Mindbody when we were still learning to use the software to suit our needs.

**What do you dislike about Mindbody?**

Fitting our business needs into Mindbody's constraints have proved challenging at some points when we first began using it, but we have since adapted. It is a rich software, but there are always going to be system "catches" that do not work for your business.

Nothing new, but Mindbody is still serving the most important needs of our business for scheduling and processing appointments that I sought out signing on with Mindbody for in the first place.

**What do you like best about Mindbody?**

There was an entire orientation offered, my upgrade was discounted and offered full training, they have amazing customer service who can either help with my problem or do their best to try to solve it or send it up the ladder. I feel like it is an intuitive program to use, and if there is a setting I'm having trouble with (which rarely happens in the nearly 9 years I've used MindBody) it is usually something tiny and hidden that customer services solves for me. They treat me with respect; they don't expect me to know technical jargon, but they also don't speak to me like I've never seen a computer before. It's the perfect balance, and they've made being a small business owner that much easier. I had a HUGE issue when the backend payment processor company changed and they worked diligently with me, advocating for me with the bigger company, to help me find a way to make my business continue working for my clients.

**What do you dislike about Mindbody?**

It's like a lot of the other scheduling sites; there are all of these amazing features, but it's all based on a hierarchal payment scale that doesn't always feel viable for a small business starting out, or worth the payment, even if the features are helpful, they aren't helpful ENOUGH all the time. 
I'm not the biggest fan of subscriptions in general, but this is one that feels worth the monthly payment, even if just for the customer support.

**What problems is Mindbody solving and how is that benefiting you?**

MindBody's scheduling service makes it possible for clients to schedule on their own time, rather than wait for me to be in the office (and not in a massage appointment!) in order to book an appointment themselves. People like the convenience of consulting their own schedules and my availability. I also have the ability to keep their card information (encrypted, of course) on file, which so many people love because they don't even need to bring their phone and wallet inside (it's a small town so locking the car is enough), and while getting a massage, it's fewer things to forget once massage brain kicks in! MindBody also accepts HSA/FSA cards, which my clients are so appreciative of because many of them can afford to come more often when they need to, rather than worrying about their monthly budget because it's already factored in. They're receiving pain management, stress management, surgery and injury rehabilitation, and it's a convenient form of payment.

If you get used to the Frankenstein nature of the software, Mindbody, it can do virtually everything you need, from payroll to a branded app to strong video streaming integration. Phone support is excellent and they try to their best to find a solution.

The Marketing Suite was purchased from another company, and MB has done little to improve it. The email campaign component is especially underpowered and frustrating with little functionality.

It's frustrating when the interface changes, you get used to something being in one place and then it's moved to a different place on the screen.

The Insights tab is confusing; unless you know what's in there, you wouldn't think to look in there.

MindBody is a monster, but it does EVERYTHING!   I set up classes and special events, keep track of attendance, automatic emails. Students can check into class, keep track of their schedule. and SO MUCH MORE!
