**What do you like best about Mindbody?**

What I like best about Mindbody is how it helps streamline both the member and operational experience. As a Director at Alloy Personal Training Lincoln Park, having one platform for scheduling, memberships, reporting, and client communication helps our team stay organized and deliver a better experience to our members.

The app makes it easy for members to book sessions, manage their schedules, and stay accountable to their fitness routines, which is huge for consistency and retention. On the business side, it allows us to track attendance, automate processes, and manage day-to-day operations more efficiently so our coaches can focus more on people and less on administrative tasks.

**What do you dislike about Mindbody?**

One area I wish was improved within Mindbody is the visibility of internal client notes. As a studio, we like to keep all member-related communication and operational notes in one centralized place for efficiency and team communication. However, at times these notes may include sensitive operational details such as billing issues, account concerns, or internal follow-up items that are not intended for client viewing prior to us addressing them directly in person or over the phone.

Having the ability to separate internal staff notes from client-visible notes would create a more professional experience for both staff and members while still allowing teams to stay organized within one system.

**What do you like best about Mindbody?**

I like that Mindbody has everything together. I can process credit card payments, schedule clients, call clients, use text reminders, and send emails on birthdays and monthly sales campaigns. It just makes life easy by having everything in one piece of software without needing a POS system. I can handle all tasks within one program, which is a big convenience.

**What do you dislike about Mindbody?**

I wish the email reminders were a little bit better. The templates are very basic as far as appearance goes.. The ability to use fancy graphics on the emails is difficult. I als am not a huge fan of the app. It works for basic things like scheduling and you can process payments, but our trainers wish it was easier to things like recurring appointments. There are just little things that could be refined and added, but aside from that I really like most things about the software.

**What problems is Mindbody solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Mindbody for processing payments, scheduling clients, and emailing. The reminders feature helps keep clients on top of their accounts making it easier for me to collect payments. I like processing credit cards within the software rather than having to swipe cards with a terminal and having automated emails like birthdays helps us keep on top of those special emails that clients love receiving.

**What do you dislike about Mindbody?**

Choosing Mindbody as the reservation platform for our Pilates studio has, unfortunately, been a very disappointing experience.

Because Mindbody is one of the biggest providers in this space, we expected a smooth onboarding process and reliable support. Instead, we ran into multiple issues from the start, and several of them are still unresolved.

Before signing, we were told we could have our own branded app. After we signed the agreement, we were informed that, as a freelancer, we are not eligible due to Apple Store policy. This was a key requirement for us, and other platforms have confirmed that this is actually possible regardless of legal structure.

Onboarding itself was also problematic. We are based in Amsterdam, yet we were assigned an onboarding representative in a completely different time zone. This made communication difficult, with meeting slots as late as 9 PM. On top of that, our VAT settings were configured incorrectly, which led to incorrect invoices during our first month. The system also doesn’t allow proper invoice cancellation, creating unnecessary administrative complications.

We also had to discover on our own that there are two different versions of the Mindbody website integration widget. We weren’t informed about this and ended up implementing the wrong one, which negatively affected the checkout experience and likely caused us to lose customers.

We have repeatedly requested proper support or a dedicated account manager to help correct the setup, but most responses have been automated emails asking whether we still have the same problem, without any real resolution.

Customer support has been inconsistent overall, with different representatives giving conflicting answers and often saying that limitations are simply “how the system works.”

In the end, this experience has created unnecessary operational difficulties at a critical stage of our business. We hope Mindbody will take responsibility and improve the onboarding and support process for new studios.

**What do you like best about Mindbody?**

MindBody has unbelievable reporting and analysis of our business. The Staff App is also the only one we've seen that has a calendar view and is intuitive and easy to use to enable our staff to respond quickly to our customers. The amount of settings and customisable options to set up the system are amazing and means that we can tailor the system to our business needs. Support is always attentive and respond quickly to our requests.

**What do you dislike about Mindbody?**

We use the system for both adults who book single classes themselves online, but then also for children after school activities which are booked on a term basis. We find it difficult to have customers book term bookings for family accounts with the current functionality. We see this is improving, but still some work to be done by MindBody on workshop/enrollment bookings. Also there aren't enough filters on the MindBody custom booking app currently to refine your search for those who offer a lot of classes daily.

**What problems is Mindbody solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Understanding our whole business business potential and revenue. Also breaking this down by booking type, by coach with the ability to export data extracts to slice and dice them. We love the new customer reports to keep on top of communication to enable better customer retention.

This software is still a great system with really robust reporting but it seems to be falling behind the times a little in overall functionality with regards to smooth of integration of items like storefront and web connections. It has promise though

**What do you like best about Mindbody?**

I like the new reporting and the analytics in Mindbody, which give me quite a lot of information and are really efficient. It's easy to navigate and very good for analyzing our business. I find it solid for customer bookings, as it is really easy to use once you've got a grip on it. Customers also find the app easy to use for booking classes, understanding where they're going and what they're doing, which is very easy for them.

**What do you dislike about Mindbody?**

The booking app doesn't have enough filters. You can only filter by coach, which is not useful In our particular setup. We need to be able to filter by multiple other sections such as the room, the level or the name of the class, so this is not easy for us. Also, we work as an academy where customers are booking for their children and this currently is not great for Mindbody.

I use Mindbody for scheduling staff and find its new reporting and analytics provide valuable data for analyzing our business. It's also solid for customer bookings and easy to use.

**What do you like best about Mindbody?**

I use Mindbody to book appointments for my sauna and appreciate its ability to manage staff and run reports for sales, customer usage, and activity. I like the symbols it uses for descriptions of all activities and how I can keep track on the mobile app. Class scheduling is particularly valuable to my business, as it helps me set up correctly and track the number of clients coming in. I also value how Mindbody manages my staff, and I like that it allows me to track sales and make payments efficiently.

**What do you dislike about Mindbody?**

I don't like how it always assigns a class to a certain staff person. It does allow you to switch between different staff members, but if a staff member leaves, you have to completely cancel a class and rebook using the new structure.

I use Mindbody for booking sauna appointments, tracking client activity, sales, and making payments. It helps manage staff, run reports, and track activities on the mobile app.

I find Mindbody easy to use, especially when it comes to the scheduling part. It's really convenient because I can see all of the schedules for our trainers and clients. The initial setup was fairly easy too.

I'm not a big fan of the way Mindbody processes rescheduling. The drag-and-drop feature could be improved. I'd prefer it to be easier, like having a button for rescheduling where you can just type in the date and time, and that's it.

Mindbody eases the hard process of manually scheduling and adding client information. It's easy to use for scheduling, letting me see all trainers' and clients' schedules.

**What do you like best about Mindbody?**

I like Mindbody for use in fitness and dance studios. I feel that this platform is great for organizing classes, signing clients in, creating workshops and keeping contact logs. For the most part, I think Mindbody is intuitive. For the times that Mindbody is not intuitive, I really appreciate the customer support.

**What do you dislike about Mindbody?**

What I dislike is how the updates at times disrupts how an established flow that studio established and that it takes a little while to figure out where an old feature now lives. There are times when Mindbody is not intuitive, however thus far I've really appreciated the customer support and that I can get on the phone with them pretty easily and they can walk me through how to solve the problem.

Mindbody is helping us (Maryland Youth Ballet) with our adult students program and getting them signed up for classes and workshops.

**What do you like best about Mindbody?**

I love that I can get to what I want about three different ways. This feature is super helpful because I am not super tech savvy, and it makes it easy for me and my staff to find things quickly. Having a side menu bar, a top menu bar, and settings options really helps with navigating the software. We save so much time with Mindbody because we have everything in one place, including 13 years of comprehensive client history, which helps us stay in touch with our customer service. Mindbody's integration with ClassPass, our marketing suite, AI messenger, and our website enhances its value for us.

**What do you dislike about Mindbody?**

They are constantly improving. While that is a good thing, the layouts and interfaces are always changing. This tends to cause confusion, frustration of change for change sake and invites a lot of bugs into the day to day flow which eats at time calling to register and get them ironed out. I am not going to lie, it is a lot of work, but as is anything worth while. While user friendly it is grossly comprehensive and although we use a lot - we know we only use the tip of the iceberg.

We save so much time having 13 years of client history centralized, and being more in touch with customer service.

**What do you like best about Mindbody?**

I use Mindbody to schedule our clients, handle all of our billing, and as a CRM. It allows for automatic payment processing for clients, which is really helpful given the volume of clients we work with each month. The billing happens automatically, which saves us a lot of time. It also tracks all of our client sessions, whether they attend or not, and this helps us provide detailed information regarding their accounts. Additionally, I like that I can integrate Mindbody into our website using the branded web functionality.

**What do you dislike about Mindbody?**

Sometimes it's slow. Sometimes there are bugs in the software. Usually, these bugs occur when we're trying to do something out of the ordinary, which doesn't happen very often.

I appreciate Mindbody's longevity in the market as it shows reliability. It's a competent member manager, keeping track of our members, their activities, scheduling, and billing. I can easily tell which members attend the most, who are the most loyal, and who purchases additional offerings like workshops or courses. This information is helpful for marketing new products.

Reporting is, in my opinion, horrific. All I have access to is canned reports. I want a report writer where I can create reports other than the canned ones.

I use Mindbody to keep track of members, their activities, scheduling, and billing, which helps with marketing new products. It helps identify the most loyal members and those purchasing workshops or courses.

I find that client accounts are easy to navigate with Mindbody. If I need to find something in their account, it is pretty straightforward, and I can easily find what I'm looking for.

I don't like how we can't change clients' info. Since the updates with Mindbody, we can't control if we need to change something, like their email or their name. If they signed up with a nickname or no last name, we need that for insurance purposes.

Mindbody solves the problem of not having a receptionist by allowing online bookings. I find navigating client accounts easy and straightforward, helping me quickly find necessary information.

**What do you like best about Mindbody?**

Mindbody keeps all of our scheduling, client management, sales, and reporting in one organized system. It is very easy for our staff to use, even during busy periods, and the interface makes daily operations smooth and efficient. Their customer support is excellent and any time we needed assistance they guided us through screen sharing and resolved issues quickly. We use the software every day and rely on most of the features available in the Business app, except for the marketing tools. Overall, it has streamlined how we run our studio. The implementation process is not difficult, but setting up the main features and becoming comfortable with the system typically takes one to two weeks.

**What do you dislike about Mindbody?**

Some features in Mindbody seem outdated and often require too many steps to accomplish basic tasks. Certain settings are not very intuitive, which can make onboarding new staff slower than it should be. I also find it limiting that Mindbody only allows a single liability waiver per client at their first visit; it would be much more helpful if multiple waivers could be assigned for different services, especially for studios offering a variety of options. Additionally, the forms and waivers could be improved to be more dynamic and user-friendly, rather than depending mainly on uploaded documents. Integrations with external platforms could also be more seamless, particularly when using APIs or automation tools.

Mindbody helps us manage a high volume of clients and sessions without losing track of schedules, payments, or client history. It streamlines appointment booking, autopays, attendance tracking, and staff management so we spend less time on administrative work and more time serving clients. The system also gives us clear reporting tools that help with planning, forecasting, and understanding overall business performance. By keeping everything centralized and automated, Mindbody improves efficiency and allows our studio to operate smoothly every day.

**What do you like best about Mindbody?**

Mindbody provides an easy method of embedding booking forms, calendars, appointments, and scheduling widgets onto Shopify. This has helped our team easily make changes and adjustments when needed through Mindbody branded web tools. It wasn't too much of a learning curve, but we were able to figure out the necessary configurations to get the website running. The performance for booking is seamless and works as if you were on Mindbody's website itself. Currently, we do not see any AI functionality that may help future clients when trying to book the perfect service for their neds.

**What do you dislike about Mindbody?**

The main takeaways that we do no like as a team is certain configurations not available to be made. One being the layouts for each widget, we are stuck with what is offered and not able to switch to any other desired templates. If this was offered, the theming and branding could easily look seamless for any brand. Another is providing full customization capabilities whether it's the backend to the front end.

Mindbody has helped us create a website to easily help clients book services. The team has been great help and offered much needed help whenever requested. The system works exceptionally well with shopify.

**What do you like best about Mindbody?**

I use Mindbody for scheduling appointments and find it helps me keep my scheduling organized. I like the scheduling and payment collection features, as they allow me to collect and record cash or credit card payments. The AI help often works well for me, helping me find answers about 50% or 60% of the time. When I need to contact support, they are always helpful and responsive. Setting up Mindbody was pretty easy for me because I had help.

**What do you dislike about Mindbody?**

The AI feature sometimes doesn't have the answers I'm looking for. It would be great if AI would just pick up even keywords. One thing I don't like about Mindbody is that I can't just easily have one button that says generate an invoice for this appointment, as there's not a really easy one-click way to get just the paper that says, invoice or receipt.

I use Mindbody for scheduling appointments and organizing my schedule. It helps me collect and track payments, whether cash or credit, and allows clients to buy packages while tracking their usage.

**What do you like best about Mindbody?**

I really enjoy the calendar view. I like being able to use it to check people in as they arrive to class. I like the interface and how easy it is to use. I also appreciate that it's very compatible with other software, whether it's financial software or an additional scheduler or website. They're really easy and simple to connect. I think it simplifies my everyday routine and makes it so that I have less work to do, which is important because time is money for me. Mindbody is perfect for gyms and fitness companies and it's good on both the user end and the business end of the app. I love the check-in feature too.

**What do you dislike about Mindbody?**

I think the calendar view is a bit simplistic. I feel like there could be personalized features that could be added. Maybe, like, color coding appointments or being able to place different tags on appointments to differentiate between clients or types of client.

**What do you like best about Mindbody?**

I like Mindbody's automations because I don't have to think about what to send each client to keep them engaged with my business. The campaigns help me target the right client with the right offer. I also appreciate the exposure to ClassPass, which has given me more reach. Recently, I started using the AI messenger, and I find it useful. Additionally, I use Mindbody widgets with my website, which has been a seamless integration.

**What do you dislike about Mindbody?**

I don't like that Mindbody isn't clear about Contracts and Autopay/Contracts being two different things. I had issues with my memberships not working properly, and support wasn't very helpful with resolving it. It's frustrating that autopay/contracts are not explained well for different contexts, like using memberships for specific services instead of just gym memberships. Also, I wish there were add-ons available on the app for my business.

**What problems is Mindbody solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mindbody automates my client appointments and reduces manual booking. The automations keep clients engaged without extra effort, campaigns help target offers effectively, and ClassPass increases my exposure to new clients.

**What do you like best about Mindbody?**

I use Mindbody for my fitness business, and it has all the tools and resources needed to keep track of data. It sets itself apart from other gym software with the ease of use of the platform. I love how easy it is to train staff to use it. Mindbody Messenger is a game changer for me. The initial setup was very easy, and I'm highly likely to recommend it with a score of 10 out of 10.

I also enjoy that you can find classes and studios all over the world. The initial setup was easy, and I have recommended the software to a new studio in the area called Allfull Body Flow Pilates.

I don't like the amount of time I have to spend behind the scenes to fix some issues. The support from the agents could be better because some of them are not well trained, and I can solve the problems better than they can.

We use Mindbody for our entire business, and it's been a really easy application to use. The reservation system is particularly beneficial because it helps us track who's signing up for certain classes, which allows us to staff accordingly. We also find it very helpful for our daycare system as it helps track what kids are going to come in, so we know how many staff members we need. Tracking spending and credit cards has been really simple with Mindbody, and whenever we have to call or have an issue, they are very responsive and reliable. Adding new staff to clock in and out has been very simple.

**What do you dislike about Mindbody?**

Sometimes it crashes out and can be a little glitchy, but it's nothing that a simple call can't fix.

I value the ability to manage bookings with Mindbody. The platform theoretically does everything that I need it to do at the moment, although there are some development needs.

**What do you dislike about Mindbody?**

Mindbody's integration of different platforms doesn't work well, requiring me to update information separately in different places. The branded web, app, and consumer mode create different customer journeys, which isn't ideal. There are also bugs in the system that don't get resolved quickly, and it's designed more for a class-based enterprise, which doesn't fit well with my business model that includes multilevel revenue and various packages. The tech stack hasn't helped in providing a clear and easy-to-use customer journey, leading many customers to default to using the phone instead of the booking process, which is disappointing. Also, the setup was almost impossible and very challenging, and the CRM built into Mindbody isn't good enough, being too beta and not providing the right branding. Lastly, it lacks integration with our accounting software.

I like that Mindbody keeps many of our functions all in one spot. I appreciate the brand recognition and its scalability to our business needs, as it can be used in both smaller locations and more robust ones. I also found the initial switch to Mindbody smooth thanks to a great TAM who made the setup process seamless.

Because we don't always use Mindbody in the same way that a boutique studio would use it, there can be items that are not always reportable in the way that we would like to see them. Would also be great if locker management was more robust to be able to let you know what lockers are available to be rented not just which ones are rented out currently. IE if you have 50 lockers, it would be great if the software could tell you that locker number 5 is available to be rented.

Customer Service is terrible. Even the reps who provide the support have agreed with us during conversations. There are a lot of client-specific issues that MBO support will not consider. In addition, some reps did not even know what some of the updates were, and how they affected our user experience.

Overall it is a good all inclusive retail scheduling / selling / payment system.

**What do you dislike about Mindbody?**

After the last major update, mindbody is VERY slow after you click on a few screens.  It's not compatible with all browsers anymore especially Safari.   It works best on Chrome.  It doesn't work with firefox.  The account details screen, which we need to access constantly is especially slow.  After about 3-4 page changes the computer fan kicks into high and MBO kicks into s l o w.  The browser must be restarted to continue or the browser just locks up.  Tech support has suggested Chrome in private mode.  This has helped but not eliminated the problem.  If you need to sell retail products you are lucky to add one to the buy screen before the products tab quits loading...OVERALL, MBO is very clunky and click happy.  It takes way to long to check clients out.  We get frustrated.  They get frustrated.  The last time I spoke with tech support they said I needed to buy new computers.  Things worked just fine before the update.  I cannot afford to replace all 3 computers at the front desk.

scheduling appointments is great.  Checking out appointments is just ok.  Account management is difficult due to page loading issues.

I find it inconvenient that there's no option to notify members of a class cancellation. Currently, the system seems to only notify the instructor, but not the members. **What do you like best about Mindbody?**

I love how Mindbody efficiently handles our class bookings and point of sale operations at our studio, which has been reliably enhancing our workflow for over eleven years. Its straightforward setup process ensured that we could integrate it without any hassle. I appreciate that through the Mindbody app, we can connect with clients who we might not have reached otherwise, significantly enhancing our client interaction. Further, Mindbody allows us to effectively track all of our bookings, sales, and revenue, which is essential for our business management. Integrating the marketing suite recently was a great addition, allowing us better direct access to clients using auto-text features, expanding our marketing capabilities. Importantly, the customer support stands out, with the ability to contact a live person quickly if I encounter issues, ensuring I am never left without help, and overall, the support team is helpful and the wait times are reasonable. Furthermore, the ability to pair Mindbody effortlessly with other software like Constant Contact emphasizes its versatile integration capabilities.

**What do you dislike about Mindbody?**

I dislike that recent changes have restricted my ability to update clients' emails and phone numbers. Previously, I could assist clients easily by updating their information and helping them change passwords. Now, the process has become more challenging, causing difficulties both for my clients and myself.

**What problems is Mindbody solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Mindbody to connect with clients through the app, track bookings, sales, and revenue. The marketing suite enhances client access via auto texting, while excellent customer support resolves issues swiftly.

**What do you like best about Mindbody?**

Upfront sales pitch was very slick and the system looked promising.

**What do you dislike about Mindbody?**

We signed up to Mindbody with high hopes, but our onboarding and early use of the system have been among the most frustrating business experiences I’ve ever had. Despite extensive efforts on our side — including trying to work constructively with multiple contacts across different departments — the service has been chaotic, slow to respond, and riddled with technical problems.

Key issues have included:
Broken booking links at launch
Missing client data on import
Passes and login functions not working across locations
Persistent log-in loops and access errors for clients
Ongoing bugs in the staff and back-office systems
Unstable client experience requiring frequent browser cache clears
Failure to correctly apply free trial periods and subscription credits
Multiple issues raised, ignored, or delayed for weeks at a time

Most damaging of all has been the impact on client trust and our professional reputation. After nearly a month of firefighting problems and receiving minimal or no response from support, we’ve had to migrate to an alternative system — just to protect our business from further disruption.

Despite acknowledging many of these issues and even apologising in writing, Mindbody is now refusing to release us from our contract — locking us into a 24-month term on a system that is unusable. At this point, we are beginning to explore legal options.

If you’re a small or growing wellness business that can’t afford weeks of instability and reputation damage, I would advise extreme caution before committing to this platform.
