## Hubstaff Reviews
  ### 1. Efficient for Tracking Time, Needs Better Integration

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joey S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 06, 2026

**What do you like best about Hubstaff?**

I like that Hubstaff sends weekly overview emails so I can take a quick glance at productivity. It allows for an up-to-date status on the projects without having to dive into the data on the site. It's also easy to set up once the dashboard is understood. Hubstaff enables multiple departments to contribute to project progress, which is very useful for my work.

**What do you dislike about Hubstaff?**

The tracking of productivity while signed in does not allow for us to account for fewer mouse clicks during a meeting, for example. Also, the integration with Gusto was not as functional as hoped.

**What problems is Hubstaff solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Hubstaff for timekeeping on projects. It allows multiple departments to contribute to progress. The weekly overview emails give me a quick glance at productivity, keeping me updated on project status without diving into the site's data.

  ### 2. Good tracking tool but needs better timer clarity Accurate tracking but confusing pause behavior

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Hubstaff?**

Hubstaff provides accurate time tracking with activity monitoring, which helps maintain transparency in remote teams. The automatic screenshots and detailed reports make it easy to review productivity and ensure accountability. It is lightweight and runs smoothly in the background without affecting system performance.

**What do you dislike about Hubstaff?**

The timer pause and resume behavior can sometimes be confusing, especially when tracking short tasks. Payment calculation based on tracked seconds is not always clearly visible, which can create uncertainty. The UI could be more intuitive, and clearer feedback around tracking status would improve the overall experience.

**What problems is Hubstaff solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hubstaff helps solve the problem of manual time tracking and lack of visibility in remote work environments. It provides structured tracking, activity monitoring, and reporting, which improves accountability and reduces disputes around logged hours. This benefits both the organization and the employee by creating transparency in work output and time utilization.

  ### 3. Streamlining Team Efficiency with Hubstaff

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bansri D. | AVP Sales and Operations, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2024

**What do you like best about Hubstaff?**

I also find the reporting feature very useful—being able to download reports in multiple formats like CSV or PDF makes it simple to analyze data, share updates with stakeholders, and integrate with other workflows.

**What do you dislike about Hubstaff?**

Another improvement could be around onboarding—having a more guided setup or interactive walkthrough would help teams get started faster without confusion.

**What problems is Hubstaff solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hubstaff solves the problem of accurately calculating productive hours for the team, which benefits us by providing clear insights into our productivity and enabling better resource allocation

  ### 4. Clear Team Dashboard and Smooth Employee Tracking

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2026

**What do you like best about Hubstaff?**

The dashboard to see the whole team in one glance.
The fact that each employee can track and check their update.
No bug so far

**What do you dislike about Hubstaff?**

It is only in USD while we pay our employees in EUR and CHF therefore we don't use all your settings.
The reports a bit complicated to get out as well in the form that we would like.

**What problems is Hubstaff solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Registering employees and freelance time allows us to avoid having to personally monitor each person.

  ### 5. Decent Cost but Frustrating Usability Issues

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Casey M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Hubstaff?**

I use Hubstaff for tracking hours, PTO, and productivity of overseas staff members. It was the cheapest option for us that provided us with what we needed.

**What do you dislike about Hubstaff?**

The PTO feature is finicky, making it hard to align with our bi-weekly pay schedule. The AI chatbot is only semi-helpful, and when connected with an agent, they can't solve the issue. The website usability is also an issue, as it takes 5+ steps for PTO to accrue accurately. Moreover, it almost forces you to pay employees within the app for it to work efficiently, making it confusing to track hours and PTO accurately if you don't pay your staff within Hubstaff.

**What problems is Hubstaff solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I no longer have to manually track PTO hours for overseas staff. It allows me to quickly track their hours.

  ### 6. Empowers Team Productivity with Some Task Management Limitations

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hector C.

**Reviewed Date:** February 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Hubstaff?**

I like that Hubstaff takes very good screenshots and shows us all the URLs and almost everything the user has done throughout the track time period. It's very detailed in that aspect. I also appreciate that we're able to check the productivity of team members and determine which team members are not working as they need to, as well as reward those who really put in the effort. Additionally, the initial setup of Hubstaff was pretty easy, very flexible, and easy.

**What do you dislike about Hubstaff?**

I find it a little bit difficult to move tasks from one folder to another because you have to move the entire list. It's a little bit difficult since you can't move a single task. Also, I think it has a few limitations.

**What problems is Hubstaff solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hubstaff helps track what my team members are doing at any time, improving productivity and showing where to make improvements. It provides detailed insights, helping identify less productive team members and rewarding those who put in effort.

  ### 7. Hubstaff Makes Task Organization and Time Tracking Effortless

I don’t like that I can’t pause a task and keep tracking time without leaving the project that task belongs to that’s something that could be improved.

Being able to fully track overtime hours when needed. There’s no need to create external reports since the app tracks everything.

The best thing about Hubstaff is how easily it tracks time and activity in real-time. It provides clear visibility into team workloads. It’s simple to use and most importantly very accurate. It helps improve productivity monitoring and makes reporting effortless.

**What do you dislike about Hubstaff?**

Sometimes Hubstaff feels a bit strict because it tracks activity continuously, which can feel uncomfortable. As the dashboard has many features, so it can feel slightly confusing for new users.

**What problems is Hubstaff solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ubstaff helps take the guesswork out of tracking work time. Instead of manually remembering what I worked on, it automatically records my activity and time spent on tasks. This makes it easier for me to stay organized, manage my workload, and show consistent progress on my work without extra effort.

  ### 9. Hubstaff: Intuitive Tool with Excellent Time Tracking

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** André B. | Chief Commercial Officer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Hubstaff?**

I love how intuitive and easy to use Hubstaff is. It provides us with a great picture of how we're using our time and spending our money, allowing us to plan better and prioritize effectively. The ability to measure time and expenses for each project helps us learn about different clients and manage our time better. I also appreciate that Hubstaff integrates with CRMs and management platforms like HubSpot, Procore, and Teams, which we use for sales, customer relationships, operations, and financials. The time tracking feature is more complete compared to HubSpot, and the initial setup was really easy with great onboarding service.

I think the calendar feature could be improved.

Pricing can add up, especially for advanced features or larger teams, which can make the cost higher compared to alternatives.
Customer Support: Some users reported billing, unknown charges, and useless support responses.

**What problems is Hubstaff solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. Hubstaff helps manage common team and work-tracking problems. It automatically tracks working hours, which makes payroll accurate and avoids manual calculation mistakes.

2. It is easy to check attendance, such as who worked, how many hours they worked, and on which days. This brings more clarity and transparency.

3. Hubstaff also clearly shows how many hours each team member spends on different projects, which helps with planning work and billing.

4. The activity tracking feature shows how active someone was during working hours, helping understand overall productivity.

  ### 11. User-Friendly Time Tracking with Clear Hourly Insights

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Florence N. | Contract Technical Writer, Information Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Hubstaff?**

Hubstaff is quite user-friendly when it comes to entering all the necessary messages. I appreciate being able to view the different sections for each time slot, as well as check the balances for the hours worked under each specific category.

**What do you dislike about Hubstaff?**

Having more available space would be helpful, and I also find the file attachment feature to be somewhat limited.

**What problems is Hubstaff solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hubstaff addresses the challenge of accurately reporting the number of hours worked on a project. It makes it much simpler to track time and estimate what one will be paid. The main advantage is that it serves as a reliable system of record for both project hours and estimated payment amounts.

  ### 12. BEST USER EXPERIENCE

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet

**Reviewed Date:** March 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Hubstaff?**

Hubstaff makes it simple to track work hours. Employees can start and stop a timer while working, which records the exact amount of time spent on tasks or projects. This helps both employees and managers understand how time is used.

**What do you dislike about Hubstaff?**

Hubstaff can take screenshots, track activity levels, and monitor apps or websites used during work. Some employees may feel uncomfortable with this level of monitoring because it can feel intrusive.

**What problems is Hubstaff solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When people work from home or in different locations, managers often can’t see what tasks are being done or how long they take. Hubstaff solves this by tracking time, activity levels, and project progress so teams have better visibility into daily work.
Benefit to me: It helps show exactly what work I completed and how much time I spent on it.

**Reviewed by:** Henk M. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Hubstaff?**

I like using Hubstaff to track my hours for remote work AI training because it accurately tracks my time and eliminates the need for manual clocking in and out. I appreciate the screen recording feature and the accountability it provides, as it's helpful for me or a manager to look exactly at what was being done and at what time. The initial setup of Hubstaff was pretty easy and chill.

**What do you dislike about Hubstaff?**

It's a little overly complicated with too many features at times. I'd prefer a simpler interface.

**What problems is Hubstaff solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Hubstaff to track my hours accurately, eliminating manual clocking. The screen recording provides accountability, showing exactly what tasks were done and when.

  ### 15. Automates Time Tracking, Needs Better Integration

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel H.

**Reviewed Date:** January 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Hubstaff?**

I like how Hubstaff automates the time tracking and payroll, making it easy to manage in just a few clicks. It enables my team to track their time accurately and take screenshots of their screens, so I can ensure they're being productive. This makes everything flow well and feel seamless. I really appreciate how it simplifies things, making them easy and simple.

**What do you dislike about Hubstaff?**

I don't love that I haven't found an easy dashboard or way to connect it with the projects. It seems very difficult to find the page when I'm going to invoice for a project and need to look at the hours for a specific project. There have been times when I'm running payroll and I've spent a long time looking but not found the page I'm looking for to run reports on my whole team's time for a specific client or project. Also, it doesn't integrate properly with ClickUp, and that's been a real challenge for me.

**What problems is Hubstaff solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Hubstaff for time tracking and payroll for my international team. It allows team members to track time remotely and accurately, automatically creating payroll. It simplifies the process with screenshots to monitor productivity, making everything easy and simple.

  ### 16. HubStaff is really a great tool to monitor productivity

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Cosmetics

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2026

**What do you like best about Hubstaff?**

I like Hubstaff because the idle time is at least 10 mins, not like other apps that would make you idle in 2mins or more. I believe this is a reasonable amount to monitor the productivity properly, at the same time to maintain a healthy working environment without suffering too much for not being able to take short breaks for bio (when needed)

**What do you dislike about Hubstaff?**

Nothing. I think Hubstaff is good as it is now.

**What problems is Hubstaff solving and how is that benefiting you?**

First is being able to track the hours I've worked accurately, because it gives my employer a real-time view of what I have been working so far and how productive I am, and it benefits both parties because I do not have to manually log my work and my employer can be assured that I am working my tasks duly

  ### 17. hubstaff make HR easy it provides relevant information for online workers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yafar Jared P. | virtyal lawyer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 16, 2026

The process for requesting time off and managing other requests is straightforward and easy to use. Time tracking is automated as well, so the client always has the information they need to review and oversee remote workers.

**What do you dislike about Hubstaff?**

some times I nedd time to read and since hubsstaff measures time each 3 minutes if I forget to click or type my time will get deducted even though I'm working

**What problems is Hubstaff solving and how is that benefiting you?**

time tracking

  ### 18. Reliable Time Tracking Tool for Remote Teams

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ravin L. | Co-founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Hubstaff?**

What I like best about Hubstaff is its simple and transparent time tracking. It runs quietly in the background, so I don’t have to think about it once I start work. The activity tracking and screenshots help keep everyone aligned without constant follow-ups, and the reports make it easy to understand where time is actually being spent. It’s especially useful for remote teams because it builds accountability without adding extra management overhead.

**What do you dislike about Hubstaff?**

One thing I dislike about Hubstaff is that it can feel a bit too intrusive at times, especially with screenshots and activity tracking, which may affect trust if not communicated properly. The desktop app can also be slightly heavy on system resources, and switching between tasks or projects isn’t always as smooth as it could be. Additionally, some advanced reporting and customization options are limited unless you move to higher-priced plans.

**What problems is Hubstaff solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hubstaff solves the problem of tracking work time accurately, especially for remote and distributed teams where visibility is limited. It removes guesswork around hours worked, helps prevent time leakage, and makes payroll and client billing more reliable. For me, this means fewer disputes about time spent, better clarity on productivity, and easier reporting for management and clients, which ultimately saves time and reduces operational friction.

  ### 19. Want to let know to potential employees you're a red flag employer? Use Hubstaff

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Commercial Real Estate | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2026

**What do you like best about Hubstaff?**

Nothing. This app feels extremely invasive. In my experience, most of the employers who use it are the worst to work for: they pay extremely low wages and are on your back at all times.

**What do you dislike about Hubstaff?**

Everything about this bothers me: why do they have to take screenshots, and why do they have to “measure” your productivity? Hubstaff has no real way to know whether you were actually working, because day-to-day work can change so much.

**What problems is Hubstaff solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It hasn’t provided me with any benefits so far. Maybe made the life of my employer easier, now they can mircromanage easier.

  ### 20. Effortlessly Accurate Time Tracking with Hubstaff

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** ELISHA T. | CONSULTANT, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Hubstaff?**

I use Hubstaff for recording time for projects, and I find that it records accurate time. I like that it's always open and ready for me to just click and record. It's automatically pinged which makes it easier to access. The initial setup was very easy.

**What do you dislike about Hubstaff?**

I dislike that Hubstaff can feel too focused on monitoring rather than trust-based productivity.

**What problems is Hubstaff solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Hubstaff for recording time, and it solves the problem of accuracy. It's always open for just clicking and recording, and it's automatically pinged, making it easy to access.

  ### 21. Good

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** March 18, 2026

**What do you like best about Hubstaff?**

Hubstaff makes it easy to track work hours and monitor productivity. The time tracking feature is simple and accurate, and it helps me manage my tasks efficiently while working remotely. I also like the clean interface and reports that show how much time I spend on different tasks.

**What do you dislike about Hubstaff?**

Sometimes the app can feel a bit strict with activity tracking, and occasional syncing delays may happen. It would also be helpful if the interface had more customization options for users.

**What problems is Hubstaff solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hubstaff helps me accurately track the time I spend on tasks while working remotely. It improves productivity by showing how much time I spend on different activities and helps me stay focused. This makes managing my work hours and tasks much easier

  ### 22. Dependable Time Tracking with Notable Privacy Concerns

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Beluga B. | professional, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 18, 2026

**What do you like best about Hubstaff?**

I like how simple it is to start tracking without needing to fiddle with settings, which helps me stay disciplined and accountable, especially when juggling multiple projects. One of the biggest strengths of Hubstaff is the accuracy in tagging hours, and I find it dependable. The live dashboard is a highlight feature as it shows who is tracking on what in real-time without requiring a complex setup. The detailed and practical reports help both managers and freelancers like me to efficiently deal with time spent per project or client, supporting billing and work planning directly.

**What do you dislike about Hubstaff?**

I have some concerns with Hubstaff, particularly the privacy features like screen share monitoring and activity tracking. These can feel invasive, especially in creative roles where trust is important. While I find these features useful in some contexts, I understand why many feel uncomfortable with their default settings. I've also experienced technical issues, such as sync delays between the desktop app and web dashboard, which can sometimes fail to stop during network drops. Additionally, the mobile app drains the battery faster than expected, which is problematic for longer sessions.

**What problems is Hubstaff solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Hubstaff for reliable time tracking in remote work and freelance projects. It simplifies starting tracking and offers clear activity logs, helping me stay disciplined and accountable. I appreciate the detailed reports for managing time spent on projects or clients, aiding in billing and planning.

  ### 23. Easy Setup, Second-by-Second Accuracy You Can Trust

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Parduman R. | Web Application Developer + Automation Flow + E-Commerce Expert, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Hubstaff?**

It’s really easy to use and set up. It counts every second, and it’s very accurate in everything.

**What do you dislike about Hubstaff?**

There’s nothing to dislike about it; it works well.

**What problems is Hubstaff solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves the problem of accurately counting the exact hours I have worked, along with the correct productivity metrics, so I can review them and understand the right way to use them.

  ### 24. Hubstaff Review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Hubstaff?**

Hubstaff makes time tracking simple and transparent. I like that I can clearly see how much time I worked on a project and the activity percentage. The timer is easy to start and stop, and it helps ensure accurate payment for the work I complete. The daily summary emails are also helpful for reviewing productivity.

**What do you dislike about Hubstaff?**

Sometimes the project takes time to appear or refresh, which can be confusing. Earnings do not update instantly, so it is hard to know payment status in real time.

**What problems is Hubstaff solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hubstaff solves the problem of tracking real working time in remote jobs. Without it, it would be hard to prove how long I actually worked on tasks. It benefits me because my work hours are recorded automatically and I get paid fairly for the exact time I spend working.

  ### 25. Efficient Tracking with Room for Improvement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** William S. | Software Product Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Hubstaff?**

I like the notification system in Hubstaff because it helps me see when a screenshot is taken and gives me proper notifications, which is great for keeping track of my activities. It's nice to get emails about how much time I'm tracking and when my work has been approved. The activity tracking lets me check my screenshots to see if I'm being active or if I need to step up the pace. These features really help me stay on top of my work.

**What do you dislike about Hubstaff?**

I feel like they glitch a lot, and they lie a lot. It tells that maybe somebody is in a mass jogger when it's not so. I feel like it's not really a good app in terms of detecting fraudulent activity. It mistakes normal activity for fraudulent activity.

**What problems is Hubstaff solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Hubstaff to track my hours and activities, submit timesheets for payment, and receive notifications. It helps me see my work status quickly and check if I'm staying active.

  ### 26. Transparent Time-Tracking with Minor Intrusions

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cami C. | Freelancer, Management Consulting, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Hubstaff?**

I use Hubstaff to track my working hours, log time spent on specific tasks, and ensure accurate reporting of productivity and billable work. I like the transparency and clarity it provides, which helps me stay organized. It allows my employer to see that my time is visible by task, not just by hours worked, preventing the need to explain my day's activities. The initial setup of Hubstaff was very easy, similar to just logging in and starting any other productivity tool.

**What do you dislike about Hubstaff?**

It sometimes feels intrusive, like being monitored rather than supported. It can make you feel pressured to do things just to ensure high productivity, even if your tasks are already done.

**What problems is Hubstaff solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Hubstaff to track working hours, log time for tasks, and ensure accurate reporting. It solves time-tracking and accountability challenges in remote work, keeps me organized, and provides transparency, helping my employer understand my work without needing explanation.

  ### 27. Accurate Time Tracking with Insightful Productivity Analysis

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kelley B. | Virtual Assistant and AI Trainer, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Hubstaff?**

I like that Hubstaff is extremely accurate in tracking my time and gives insights on productivity throughout the day. It accurately shows me how much of my time was actively working and how much was idle, plus it tracks the apps and web pages I used. I also like that my company can set a budget for daily and weekly hours. Hubstaff shows how far into those limits we are, which helps us plan our work hours accordingly. The initial setup of Hubstaff was simple and very user-friendly.

**What do you dislike about Hubstaff?**

The only thing I do not like about it is that it times me out and stops my timer if I'm idle for too long. Some of my work requires me to be away from my computer so it doesn't accurately track my time if I'm away for more than like 10 minutes.

**What problems is Hubstaff solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hubstaff accurately tracks my time, including active and idle periods, and provides productivity insights. It allows our company to set daily and weekly hour budgets, helping us plan effectively.

  ### 28. Game-Changer for Remote Team Productivity and Transparency

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mohd Noman Q. | Full Stack Developer Intern , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Hubstaff?**

I like Hubstaff's accurate time tracking and transparency, which make it easy to monitor productivity without micromanaging. The real-time tracking, detailed activity reports, and automatic timesheets simplify payroll and client billing, saving administrative time. It works smoothly for remote teams with an easy-to-use interface. In addition to time tracking, it excels in remote team management with automated reports, project-based tracking, and payroll integrations that save manual effort. The clean dashboard makes it easy to review productivity data and project progress in one place, and the reminders and alerts help keep everyone aligned without constant follow-ups. The initial setup was straightforward and quick, with helpful onboarding guides and documentation, allowing most team members to start tracking time within the same day.

**What do you dislike about Hubstaff?**

While Hubstaff is very useful overall, there are a few areas that could be improved. The activity monitoring and screenshot features can sometimes feel a bit intrusive for team members. The desktop app can also be slightly resource-heavy, and occasional sync or connectivity issues occur on slower internet connections. Additionally, more customization in reports and better mobile app functionality would make the experience even smoother. For the mobile app, Hubstaff could improve background tracking stability, as time tracking sometimes pauses or stops on mobile devices. Adding offline tracking with automatic sync once the internet is available would be very helpful. A simpler, faster interface for starting/stopping timers and switching projects would also improve daily usability. For activity monitoring, offering more flexibility would make it feel less intrusive, like customizable screenshot frequency and better blur controls for sensitive data. Smarter activity metrics focused on task progress rather than just mouse/keyboard activity would also make monitoring more meaningful.

**What problems is Hubstaff solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hubstaff solves remote work management challenges by accurately tracking working hours and verifying productivity. It eliminates time theft, reduces manual timesheets, and enhances accountability. It also streamlines client billing, integrates with other tools, and provides transparency in project timelines and team performance.

  ### 29. Reliable Productivity Booster with Room for Interface Improvement

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Raghuvir T.

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Hubstaff?**

I like how Hubstaff keeps everything organized and easy to manage. I really appreciate the time tracking and activity monitoring because it allows me to see how tasks are progressing without making anyone feel micromanaged. The automated timesheets and reports save me a lot of time, and the task management features help keep projects on track. Hubstaff simplifies tracking time, managing tasks, and monitoring productivity, making team management much easier. I also found the initial setup straightforward, with the platform guiding me clearly through the basics.

**What do you dislike about Hubstaff?**

While I find Hubstaff really helpful, a few things could be better. At times, the app feels a bit slow or clunky, especially when switching between projects or pulling detailed reports. I think a more intuitive interface and faster navigation would make it easier to get what I need quickly. A few more options to customize dashboards and notifications would also be great. Overall, it works well, but these tweaks would make it even smoother for me.

**What problems is Hubstaff solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Hubstaff to track time, manage tasks, and boost productivity. It simplifies seeing where hours go, organizes projects, and keeps the team accountable without micromanaging. It eases stress, helps manage hours and deadlines, and creates accurate timesheets for easier payroll.

  ### 30. Seamless Time Tracking and Reporting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mayank S. | Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Hubstaff?**

I find Hubstaff extremely handy, which I like a lot. It's easy to use for seeing reports for my different projects. The ability to start and stop tracking anytime I want is really convenient. The initial setup was pretty easy too; I logged in through my Gmail and then installed the desktop application on my system. Once that's done, I can easily start or stop tracking whenever I need.

**What do you dislike about Hubstaff?**

I think they have some payroll options also. So, that can also be leverages along with my time sheet hours. It's just I'm not sure why haven't it been initialized as of now. Maybe it could be on my client's side also, like, they are not utilizing it and Hubstaff has it. But, yeah, they can leverage it into their overall automation status.

**What problems is Hubstaff solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can easily track my time across projects and view handy reports to see hours spent on tasks.

  ### 31. Effortless Time Tracking and Organization with Hubstaff

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dirk W. | Nutrition Specialist, Hospital & Health Care, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Hubstaff?**

Hubstaff is easy to use and keeps time tracking simple and transparent. The desktop app runs smoothly in the background, allowing me to focus on my work without interruptions. It’s clear how my time is being tracked, which helps avoid misunderstandings and ensures accurate pay. I also like being able to review my own timesheets and activity, as it helps me stay organized, manage my workload better, and stay accountable.

**What do you dislike about Hubstaff?**

The main drawback is that the activity monitoring can feel overly strict at times, especially when legitimate work doesn’t involve constant keyboard or mouse activity. Switching tasks or projects during the day can also feel a bit rigid, requiring manual changes. Additionally, the desktop app can occasionally use noticeable system resources, and there is limited flexibility to add context or explanations directly to tracked time without manager approval.

**What problems is Hubstaff solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hubstaff solves the challenge of accurately tracking work time and activity across remote or flexible work environments. It provides clear, objective records of hours worked, which benefits me by ensuring fair and transparent compensation. The ability to review and edit my own timesheets helps me stay organized and accountable for my tasks. It also reduces confusion about work progress and time allocation, which improves communication with my team and managers. Overall, Hubstaff supports better time management, clarity around expectations, and trust in the work tracking process.

**What do you like best about Hubstaff?**

We have a bunch of remote workers, and this gives us better visibility into their work and overall efficiency.

**What do you dislike about Hubstaff?**

Its a little complex to train on and set up

**What problems is Hubstaff solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We found a bunch of people who weren’t actually working the schedule they were supposed to be working, or who were cheating the system. At the same time, we also found some who were working really hard but had been flying under the radar, and it was nice to see that.

  ### 33. Fluid Integration, Easy to Use

I like the easy integration with Mac and Asana in Hubstaff. It is very convenient because I can activate the time clock from the app on my Mac without entering any browser. I also appreciate how it links with Asana to track the time each team member spends on tasks. I highly value the total hours counter, screenshots, and activity level features, and it is also easy to implement and use.

**What do you dislike about Hubstaff?**

I would love to see employee geolocation features.

**What problems is Hubstaff solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Hubstaff to track hours, productivity, and activity; it solves the productivity control in my company.

**Official Response from Paolo V:**

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 11, 2026

**What do you like best about Hubstaff?**

What I like best about Hubstaff is its clear and transparent time tracking. The real-time tracking, activity levels, and detailed reports make it easy to understand how time is being spent without being overly complicated. It helps keep everyone aligned and accountable, especially for remote work, while still being user-friendly and straightforward.

**What do you dislike about Hubstaff?**

What I dislike about Hubstaff is that it can sometimes feel too intrusive, particularly with features like screenshots and activity monitoring, which may impact trust and comfort for some users. Additionally, the desktop app can be a bit resource-heavy and occasionally laggy, and navigating reports or settings isn’t always as intuitive as it could be.

**What problems is Hubstaff solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solves time tracking and productivity monitoring challenges, especially for remote and distributed teams. It gives clear insights into how time is spent on tasks, helping you understand where effort is going and manage workloads more effectively. This means less time manually tracking hours, more confidence that work is being accounted for fairly, and better visibility into team performance, which supports planning and decision-making.

  ### 35. Effortless Time Tracking, Needs Better Sync

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gopi Krishna K. | Technical Recruiter, Staffing and Recruiting, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Hubstaff?**

I use Hubstaff to track my daily working hours and monitor time spent on different tasks, and I find it very simple and easy to use for time tracking. Starting and stopping the time tracker is easy, and the dashboard shows how much time I spent working very clearly. The initial setup is very easy and creating an account and getting started didn't take much time. Hubstaff solves the manual tracking of work hours and provides a clear record of my working hours.

**What do you dislike about Hubstaff?**

Sometimes the desktop app feels a bit slower when syncing data, especially with an unstable internet connection. It would be more helpful if Hubstaff could handle offline tracking better and sync more smoothly once the connection is stable again.

**What problems is Hubstaff solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Hubstaff to track my working hours and monitor time spent on tasks. It solves the manual tracking of work hours by providing a clear record.

  ### 36. Great for time and activity tracking.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sumit T. | Quality Assurance Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Hubstaff?**

What I like most about Hubstaff is that it can be integrated with Clickup which we use for project management. All the tasks created on clickup reflect on hubstaff and makes it easier to keep track of time.

**What do you dislike about Hubstaff?**

People can keep pressing any key repeatedly to increase their Activity percentage. It should take idle time intelligently for these kind of hacks.

**What problems is Hubstaff solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hubstaff mainly helps with tracking work hours and keeping an eye on how time is being spent on different tasks. It makes it easier to manage work, especially with remote teams, and keeps everything transparent.

  ### 37. Intuitive UI and Seamless Productivity Tracking

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Hubstaff?**

I use Hubstaff for tracking productivity and managing shifts. I like the automation and activity tracking, especially being able to choose metrics to monitor like keyboard and mouse usage. The user interface is very basic but essential, making it look sorted out and very easy to use whenever I open the application. Setting Hubstaff to start at a specific time when my shift begins is a feature I appreciate a lot. The initial setup was very easy, so much so that even a 10-year-old could do it, thanks to the minimal and intuitive user interface.

**What do you dislike about Hubstaff?**

Sometimes the daily limit for the project management glitches and that is a bit annoying. It only happened twice and must be some software issue.

**What problems is Hubstaff solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Hubstaff for productivity tracking and shift management. It accurately tracks my shifts for correct payment. I like its automation, activity tracking, and user-friendly interface.

  ### 38. Hubstaff efficiency tracker.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jorge R. | DISPATCHER, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Hubstaff?**

that you can create worked time if there was any failure or if you forgot to track the correct time, making the platform much more plausible

**What do you dislike about Hubstaff?**

I don't like that the tracking time can decrease if you don't move the mouse, with just the same movement or low activity with the mouse.

**What problems is Hubstaff solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In truth, the problem it solves is not so much for the USERS but for the administrators, as they can verify if the employee is performing the assigned tasks. However, the collaborator can stand out by showing great efficiency or reasonable work with their meter in percentage form. The medals for different reasons could potentially increase the overall efficiency of the company if everyone commits to not letting the activity percentage drop below 50% (this is an example).

  ### 39. Simple Time Tracking with Easy Setup Hiccups

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Translation and Localization | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Hubstaff?**

I like how the desktop app works. It's easy to pause and start tracking time, which works great for me. The simple design is particularly helpful since I'm not really a computer person, so the easier, the better. I know where the buttons are, and simple button pushing solves my problem.

**What do you dislike about Hubstaff?**

Because I use my email with different clients, and they all use Hubstaff, setting up was a bit confusing. It was a little troublesome at the beginning.

**What problems is Hubstaff solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hubstaff helps me track the hours I work and provides evidence of my work on assigned projects. It's easy to use, making it simple to handle for someone who's not a computer person.

  ### 40. Essential for Remote Work, Needs Stability Improvements

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thamires P. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Hubstaff?**

I use Hubstaff to work remotely, and I really like how practical it is for both us and the company. It provides transparency for the company and the employee. I also appreciate the fact that Hubstaff takes screenshots at regular intervals, which means I don't need to manually add hours. It's pretty easy to set up too.

**What do you dislike about Hubstaff?**

Sometimes the app doesn't start the time or stop, and I think this could be improved. I mean, it could have something to add hours when this happens or an alarm when this happens.

**What problems is Hubstaff solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find Hubstaff practical for tracking time without manual entry, providing transparency through features like screenshots.

  ### 41. Useful tool but has issues with kicking users out because of using their device in another location

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rachel L. | Generalist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Hubstaff?**

I find it very helpful that the app will keep track of work time and time that is engaged rather than idle. And that it is in shorter increments of time of 10 minutes.

**What do you dislike about Hubstaff?**

I am not a fan of the location based issue with having to go back to my team who has thousands upon thousands of other members having the same issue all because we decided to work on our projects at a coffee shop or we were on vacation and it caused a lot of us to get kicked off projects unfortunately

**What problems is Hubstaff solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Currently, my problems have not been attempted to be solved as I have been trying to get in touch with support to enable me to allow billable hours as I’ve been working for free on an audio transcription project

  ### 42. Accurate Time Tracking, Helpful Screenshots, and Easy Hourly Pay

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Indresh G. | Project Manager, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Hubstaff?**

The time-tracking accuracy is solid, and the screenshots make it easier for me to keep track of what my team is doing, which is a good thing in Hubstaff. I also like that there’s a way to pay per hour, which is asom...

**What do you dislike about Hubstaff?**

In my opinion, the per-employee cost charged by Hubstaff is quite high. Also, the UI for some metrics could be improved to make them clearer and easier to use.

**What problems is Hubstaff solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing my team and tracking there work with activity score is good thing. This help me to organise the proper project who deserves to get promoted and easily track who is not working.

  ### 43. The best productivity platform for virtual employees!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mon V. | Leasing Agent, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Hubstaff?**

It offers no more manual invoicing or payroll errors. It provides "proof of work" that protects me from being underpaid. It eliminates the "manual Tuesday" nightmare of chasing down timesheets and cross-referencing with bank accounts.

**What do you dislike about Hubstaff?**

If I am doing deep creative work or research, my "activity percentage" might look low to my manager who only glances at the data, even if I am being highly productive.

**What problems is Hubstaff solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It creates a seamless financial workflow. By linking tracked time directly to automated payroll (via Wise, or Gusto), a company can cut management time by up to 80%. It ensures that if you worked 37.4 hours, you are paid for exactly 37.4 hours.

  ### 44. Empowering Global Time Tracking with Insightful Features

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rosalynn B. | Client Services

**Reviewed Date:** January 06, 2026

**What do you like best about Hubstaff?**

I like that Hubstaff alerts me about my employees' activity and allows me to see screenshots to confirm that they're working on the tasks I assigned them. The screenshots provide a lot of insight into what they're working on, their productivity levels, and how long the projects actually take for them to complete.

**What do you dislike about Hubstaff?**

I keep getting the notifications about suspicious activity, but it's unclear to me how to confirm or deny that with my employee. I'd like to understand more clearly if it's an integrity issue or if she's actually just trained herself well enough to be able to work that quickly.

**What problems is Hubstaff solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Hubstaff for time tracking my employees in the Philippines. It solves the problem of having to watch over them by alerting me to their activity and providing screenshots, so I know when and how they're working and what they're working on.

  ### 45. Best Task Management Tool So far

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising

**Reviewed Date:** March 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Hubstaff?**

Hubstaff is very easy to use and makes time tracking simple for remote teams. I like how it automatically tracks work hours, monitors activity levels, and provides detailed reports that help improve productivity and project management. The dashboard is intuitive, and features like screenshots, app tracking, and integrations make it easier to understand how time is spent during work.

**What do you dislike about Hubstaff?**

One downside is that the monitoring features, such as screenshots and activity tracking, can sometimes feel intrusive for employees. Occasionally, the activity tracking may not accurately reflect the work being done, especially during meetings or offline tasks. Also, the desktop app may occasionally experience syncing or tracking issues.

**What problems is Hubstaff solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hubstaff helps solve the problem of manual time tracking and lack of visibility into how work hours are spent. With automatic time tracking, activity monitoring, and detailed reports, it becomes easier to understand how much time is spent on each project. This improves accountability, helps manage remote teams more effectively, and ensures accurate payroll and client billing. Overall, it saves administrative time and improves productivity.

  ### 46. Hubstaff: A Simple Interface to Time Keep

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services

**Reviewed Date:** March 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Hubstaff?**

I like how the platform is simple to use and how it offers many different options for time keeping and offering some insight into your working habits. It has made my online work and time keeping an easy and worry free experience.

**What do you dislike about Hubstaff?**

I dislike the fact that when I sign into Hubstaff, that I cannot see my weekly activities and all the widgets on my Homepage. Even if I click on the items they do not show up for me and that can be frustrating.

**What problems is Hubstaff solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hubstaff is solving my issue of keeping my time worked in order and making sure that I get paid for the hours that I have worked with ease. I had trouble before keeping track of my working time with another platform so this is a life-saver. The platform has truly been a massive help with my working schedule and keeping track of the hours that I have worked.

  ### 47. Intuitive and Efficient, But Needs Better Accuracy

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anand A. | Founder

**Reviewed Date:** January 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Hubstaff?**

I like Hubstaff's dashboard because it's easy to use. It's friendly and intuitive, making it simple for me to navigate. I also find the cohesive way it displays team-wide productivity data really helpful. Additionally, the initial setup of Hubstaff for my team was great and easy.

**What do you dislike about Hubstaff?**

I don't like that the Huddl silent app is not working as well as it's supposed to, and they're charging us an additional fee for it. It's not totally accurate. There have been multiple scenarios where our team has logged in at 10 AM, but our staff shows they logged in only at 12. This creates a lot of internal drift between team members and managers.

**What problems is Hubstaff solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hubstaff helps me track employees’ work, log-in and log-off times, and their activity levels. It's beneficial for team management and time tracking.

  ### 48. Good functionality, but you will pay quite a lot as a small businesss owner, poor customer service

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Legacy G. | CEO and founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 11, 2025

**What do you like best about Hubstaff?**

The ability for remote workers to track their time

**What do you dislike about Hubstaff?**

Poor customer service, price per seat for basic functionality, hidden costs, poor customer service, limited ability to manage productivity with limited screenshots, expensive for a large team, did I mention poor customer service?

**What problems is Hubstaff solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hubstaff gives me a way to somewhat monitor the time of my outsourced workers. I say somewhat, because they cap the amount of screenshots the system records each month per person. This is great for an outsourced worker that works 10 hours or less, but for workers that are consistently putting in 20+ hours a week, the screenshots are disabled and you are unable to really monitor productivity in a meaningful way. If you have a lot of employees all working less than 10 hours a week, it is great. Or if you have just a couple workers working a lot of hours, it may benefit to upgrade to a more expensive plan. But, the issue is that you can't upgrade just a couple of your workers to more advanced tracking or detailed analytics. For a small business that is using outsourced workers, why would I need advanced tracking for workers under 10 hours anways? In that case, I would probably just have them self report hours based on project deliverables. Hubstaff needs to be more reasonable and charge for USAGE of each user rather than each seat. I actually was considering upgrading to a Team Plan, which if you pay yearly doubles your costs from $5/month to $10/month per user. If you have 10 or more users this is a signifcant cost to a small business with outsourced workers. In reality, Hubstaff can be used for mid-level business to track time and monitor payroll at an affordable cost, but I am sure there are other platforms that are out there that compete in this space. For the small business, how many platforms do screen tracking like hubstaff and monitor activity this well? Not many. So before upgrading and doubling my annual costs of time tracking software, I requested a demo of the upgraded time tracking and analytics features and payroll features that would come with the upgrade. Hubstaff snootily told me that they only give demos to new customers, not existing ones. Whenever I have an issue, I can't get a human on the chat or the phone and reaching out via email takes several days to get a response. Hubstaff by design, is a good platform, but they bank on you just upgrading with no proof of concept for a bunch of features you are most likely never going to use. They don't care about anyone paying for 10 seats at $5/month but they DO care about someone paying for 2 seats at $10/month. It's too bad that they have gotten so big that they don't care about the exact customer avatar that they originally created the platform for.

  ### 49. Effortless Time Tracking with Cross-Platform Convenience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dominique M. | Founder, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 06, 2026

**What do you like best about Hubstaff?**

I use Hubstaff for time and productivity tracking, and it's improved my productivity results by 15% YOY due to its ability to track what users do. I like the different platforms Hubstaff can be used on—there's a browser function or a desktop function available for every user, making it quite versatile. The initial setup was extremely easy; it was just plug and go.

**What do you dislike about Hubstaff?**

There are times when there's a glitch here or there but it isn't anything that is too bothersome. Sometimes the clock-in feature may give me a bit of an issue.

**What problems is Hubstaff solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Hubstaff for time and productivity tracking, which improved our productivity results by 15% year over year by tracking user activity.

  ### 50. Solid Time Tracking, Seamless Integrations

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kasim A.

**Reviewed Date:** January 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Hubstaff?**

I love the integrations Hubstaff offers! It plays nice with Trello, Asana, our accounting software, and even Slack. This streamlines everything as data flows seamlessly between Hubstaff and our project management tools, providing accurate time tracking and project estimates without extra work. The setup was pretty straightforward, taking about an hour to get our team onboarded, and their support team was super helpful. Hubstaff's features and integrations fit our workflow better than Toggl, especially with project-specific tracking.

**What do you dislike about Hubstaff?**

The desktop app can be a bit glitchy sometimes, especially when switching between projects fast.

**What problems is Hubstaff solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hubstaff helps with tracking productivity and managing time for remote teams. It solves the problem of accurately tracking billable hours across projects and clients. Integrations with tools like Trello and Asana streamline data flow, providing accurate time tracking without extra work.
