Being a product-based company we have to track all our team members and Hubstaff is very useful in that to follow our employees and their work. Its integration with Jira helps us a lot to create a workflow for our tech team and management team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The price range is slightly higher than the other employee tracking software. But the product and service team is good. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

HubStaff is a fantastic tool. The ability to connect to ClickUp (and probably other integrations) is our favorite quality. Other then that, managing a decently sized team (including separation for project leaders and general team members), the reports system, automatic payments, setting budget limits (with notifications), and HubStaff's general work tracking abilities (including ability to add notes on the fly) have all become critical to our business.
Bonus: We've never had a problem installing and using HubStaff's client tool on any of our team's machines, including Linux distributions & Chromebooks Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While it's rare, HubStaff occasionally doesn't sync completely with ClickUp, and you have to sync it manually. Also, I wish we could set different budgets per month for our projects vs a singular monthly budget Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We have been using hubstaff for a while now and it has made a significant difference in how we track work hours and manage our remote team. The time tracking feature is good, and the interface is easy to understand for all the team and hierarchy. It helped us to drive team toward efficient development and better tracking.
One of the features we appreciate is the screen shot capture for the activities they are carrying out. This ensures that whatever time has been consumed by the team member is consumed for the right development and no personal activities were included.
There are other appreciable features are like Insights, Task Management, Integrations, Automated Payrolls, Activity Rate, Idle Timeout and etc.
Overall, hubstaff has been a great choice for our business. We highly recommend this tool if you are managing remote team for your organization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
In terms of functionality we did not find any drawback. While there are other similar products available in the market, the pricing is little higher for the hubstaff as compared to other products which is still bearable at one point. Rest is all good. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The first thing everyone noticed when we started to use Hubstaff was that most team members were spending long hours on their computers but only effectively working 2-3 hours, which was an eye-opener - why we're all long hours on the computers but not being productive? The team now is more mindful of how they use their time; we get more done in less time, and no one needs to work late nights or extra hours. The best part is that if a team member goes off-track, we can help him to improve. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Because we use Trello, we need to use two tools, Trello + Hubstaff, it would be great if we had everything in one single place. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love Hubstaff because it helps me achieve productivity and manage my work time effectively. The timer is completely synced with the actual duration. The dashboard is neat and clean. It helps you track your productivity and the time you spend on which applications. You can also view the timesheets to track your time daily or weekly. The support team is responsive and assists you in resolving any doubts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Frankly speaking, I don't have anything as cons here. I didn't face any issues while using the application to date. I have been using it for the past 3 months on a daily basis. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Hubstaff help me to be more concious about my work in a good way and at the same time it makes you motivated to be productive at all time. How it has been implemented with the work has been great as it help us to monitor as well the things that we should be doing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Its dile time, yu forgot it in a shoprt span of time then its your lost. That maybe one thing I don't like about it but that would be the thing that keeps me going to continue working. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
They manage everything regarding the remote employees, Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
- Support is slow, they reply after 24 hours and the issues don't be solved from the first time, so you need to contact them many times for many days for the same issue, which is horrible and wasting the time.
- The pricing plan not clear, they didn't mention that the price is per user, per organization so if you are a manager or any team member in many organizations you will pay the subscription in all organizations.
- They have some bugs with integration (Trello) some team members can't integrate
- Timesheet for the custom period working for just one week, so I can't export the monthly timesheet Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The reports that I use to reconcile invoices are good. It's easy to track and adjust people's timesheets when needed.
We reached out for support with an issue we were having and they were able to fix it relatively quickly. They were friendly and supportive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We can't adjust time zone in Reports. We can adjust the time zone when we are viewing and adjusting their timesheets, but we not in Reports which requires additional work to be done after the report is exported. For example, we want to review adherence - we pull our data from our scheduling software which is in Pacific Time (because our business operates in these hours), and then pull the data from Hubstaff, then we have to convert the times and dates on the Hubstaff report to line up with the time zone from the CRM report. We tried using Schedules within Hubstaff to program shifts and get around this issue, but there are some limitations within that feature which made it not worth pursuing and would be redundant to the robust scheduling software we already use.
While the support team was quick to fix another issue we had, we brought this timezone issue to their attention a while back but there hasn't been any updates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Hubstaff offers an intuitive and seamless time-tracking solution that makes managing remote teams incredibly easy. The real-time tracking, automated screenshots, and productivity insights help ensure transparency and efficiency. The detailed reports and payroll automation save a lot of time, making it a must-have for businesses with remote or hybrid teams. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While Hubstaff is an excellent tool, the pricing can be a bit high for small businesses or startups. Additionally, the mobile app could use some improvements in terms of UI/UX for smoother navigation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I enjoy that they have a mobile version, Windows version, and others. But I especially LOVE that they have a Chromebook-specific version to download/install. I was worried there wouldn't be anything for me, but they made a quick and reliable version for my relatively rare operating system.
When opening the application, I love that it automatically logs me in very quickly. Its interface is very simple (Project and Task), with just a "Start timer" button that I push again if I need to pause my shift. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Oftentimes when running Hubstaff, it takes a long time to ask me to share my screen. I'd prefer if it asks me immediately so I can be transparent with my employer. I start work immediately when starting the timer, and so once I'm focused on work, I can miss the notification to share my screen. If that notification came immediately, that wouldn't be an issue, and my employer would see every screenshot of my work.
The Hubstaff website, when logged in, can be overly busy because features are shown that I'm not even able to access per my employer. I'd prefer if ONLY the features I'm able to use are shown, so it's cleaner and simpler. If I need to use other features at some point, I imagine my employer would let me know. Hubstaff is highly user-friendly and straightforward, making time tracking a natural part of my daily routine. The software was simple to install, and the UI is clean and user-friendly.
The permissions process is straightforward, and the app does an excellent job of clarifying what data is being collected, so I am never confused how it works. I really love the notifications when screenshots are captured or the timer is started/stopped. These qualities offer complete transparency, making it easy to trust the system.
Overall, Hubstaff has made time tracking straightforward and efficient—there is no steep learning curve, and it seamlessly integrates into my workflow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The activity level tracking feature (e.g., keyboard and mouse activity) sometimes doesn’t accurately reflect my level of productivity. It can be misleading, especially during tasks like reading or brainstorming, where physical activity is low but cognitive effort is high. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
