Considering the amount of features available, I find myself continuously suprised that this is completely free. CRM capabilities, robust donation widgets, campaign pages, custom fields, import/export options, text-to-donate, and a lot more. It's been reliable, is well designed, and has allowed our small nonprofit to level up our fundraising efforts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is nothing on the platform that has struck me as overtly problematic. I would like to see a more comprehensive back-end dashboard for campaigns instead of having to visit the front-end published page to see the status agains the goal progress bar, but this is a minor issue as a lot of this info can be found on the admin home screen. It's easy to set up new campaigns and QR codes. It's also easy and simple to pull up donation stats and financials for each campaign. Setting it up and implementing it took no effort or time at all. We use it for pretty much all of our fundraising efforts big and small, and it works without any issue. It has a widget that easily integrated onto web pages on our site. You can' really do phone customer support if you need it, just email support. It works great for selling tickets and doing auctions, but it doesn't work as an online store for selling merchandise (you can set up auction items, but not things like clothing with multiple sizes and colors). I like many things about this platform. I work for a non-profit organization that relies on fundraisers to raise money necessary to operate and provide services to our citizens at no cost to them. Givebutter has made it simple to create events and to promote the events by sharing the information on multiple platforms. One of my favorite features is the ability to send a request to donate directly to someone's phone via text message. Givebutter will send the individual a text listing my name as the requestee with a link to our campaign. It's very helpful. I also enjoy the leaderboard design which shows who is raising the most money. This feature drives friendly competition to put more effort into raising funds. The process to add people to my fundraising team is a little difficult to figure out at first. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Givebutter has been great for us. The platform is easy to navigate, I can set up as many different campaigns as I want, I can link campaigns into a fund that makes it easy to track, and donors can use payment systems like Venmo, which a lot of younger people prefer. The only small downside is that I use Little Green Light as my donor management system and there isn't an automated way to link the two systems. It takes me a little bit of work to download my new donors from Givebutter and upload them into LGL. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Givebutter has given my small private school and congregation a platform to offer its memebers a way to support the ministry happnening on our campus. We have used Givebutter to allow our members to give weekly offerings, pay for field trips, give a "free will offering" at events, and also has allowed us to accept digital payments for our athletic activities. The only downside of Givebutter, are the fees. However, fees are a part of world today and they are expected in order to be able to use all of the features of the product. I just wish they would give non-profits a break on the fees. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like the customization options for different campaigns. We use the ticket and auction functions, but also just have a general donation campaign. You can have things available during specific windows of time and then take things down at specific times. Overall just a very user friendly service. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I dislike that Givebutter has a tip option for them that is automatically set to 15% and needs to be manually set to 0% by the donator if they want to avoid paying Givebutter. If you change it to 0% across the board then it charges you extra. I get that Givebutter has to earn money somehow, but I find this a bit underhanded. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Givebutter's simple but sleek design makes it easy to learn and navigate, cutting down time needed to engage its tools and systems. It has all the functionality we've wanted, and being able to combine your communications and fundraising into one CRM is a huge boon for a small nonprofit like ours. I'm excited to see what the platform will look like in a few years once it has had time to keep adding features. Customer support has also been stellar and helped make implementation a breeze. There are times when it can be hard to find the place to change something specific such as format or the title of a fundraising page. While the platform can handle events, the event interface itself feels underdeveloped and could use some more love. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is nice that everything for an event is in one place and that history of past events remains available. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Number one gripe is the inability put (or at least tag) items into multiple categories in an auction and to be able to sort by category, status, current price on the items screen. Should be able to filter by category there too. Should be able to have preview of auction available without it being visible on main event site.
Also, need metrics that can be used on the public auction site to show things like „x percent of goal met” or „56 bids have been cast!” Or do analytics so it would be easy to determine „the x category is by far the most popular, but the best deals can currently be had in category y!”
The fact that the „buy it now” is so huge compared to the starting bid/current bid price is a little off putting. People see that number and think THAT is how much „it costs” and then say „that is too expensive”. And don’t even want to look inside the item.
I’ve had to handhold a number of elderly to teach them how to use the site for actual Bidding purposes. Aside from the buy it now problem mentioned above (they can’t see the small print of the start bid or current bid which is also grayed out so they just cannot see it) they frequently just want to see all the items without categories. This is possible by choosing view all items in the filter but I had to write separate instructions to make this happen.
The hearts (to save favorite items) are essentially white on white. Nobody can see them and nobody I talked to had any idea they were there.
A lot of people wanted to view „all the gift cards” so being able to double categorize „food and dining” with „gift card” or „spa and wellness” with „gift card” would be useful.
I’m sure there is more but this is just at the top of my head. I’ve spent the last couple months being trained by give butter… Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Out of the many donation platforms we've tried, Givebutter has been the simpliest and most straight-straight forward out of all of them. Yes, sometimes it can be lacking in features, but especialy for a relatively small nonprofit, this is somewhat of a positive. Voulenteers can be trained on the platform in a matter of hourse, and it's dead-easy to create and share campaigns.
The web portal has continuously gotten better over the 1 1/2 yrs. we have used it -- the developers clearly care about user experience, and it shows.
There are a small number of built-in integrations, we found it relatively easy to link to platforms like Slack and Monday.com, and the CRM gets the job done. Keep in mind, this is no Salesforce CRM, but many smaller non-profits don't need it to be. It's incredibly easy to implement in small to medium size organizations which has helped us bring the focus back from wrangling with expensive, complex software, to actually connecting with donors and fundrasing.
Givebutter's customer support has been wonderful, though we've rarely found we need it. When we started using the platform, the founders personally reached out to us after a week to check that everything was going well. We had a few issues with verifying our nonprofit status, so we simpily relpied to the email and it was fixed in hours. We could not dream of a better customer support experience.
What sealed the deal for us, aside from Givebutter being a well-built platform was the pricing stucture. We found, that for a small org. like ours, it was the best way to keep the most of our money with the least headache. There are no monthly platform fees -- a godsend for a nonprofit that only funraises for a small part of the year, and the fees charged are reasonable. Yes, you will be charged the regular credit card processing fees (2.9% + 15 cents per donation), but this doesn't go to Givebutter and all platforms charge this. The fee charged for fundraisers is 3%, fairly reasonable, even more so when we found that about 90% of our donors covered all fees through the "tip" option.
This has been perfect for us, as we've kept about 98% of our donations net of fees, something we are happy to pay compared to what other platforms charge. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are few negative things we have to say about Givebutter; it fits very well with our usecase, but it may not be great for all organizations. This product is not (yet) competitive with some of the software larger organizations use. If you need a complex CMS, automated email engagement, rich connections and APIs, you won't find it here. Additionally, some features such as letter generation and text message outreach are definitely in their infancy.
Customer support is great at resolving issues, and the app is constantly updated, but don't be surprised if you find a few bugs in the user interface. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Givebutter is easy to navigate and user friendly for donors. It offers a great platform for silent auction and donations as well as campaigns. The interface is simple and payment processing is very fast. The automations are great and the customer service has been responsive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are hidden fees and sometimes not clearly stated. The platform is also not setup for live auctions or live/sales/ We'd like to find something with a proper point of sales platform so that we can integrate ALL of our fundraising into one program. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Our non-profit org decided to do an online silent auction during a fundraising event. Give Butter was able to do the following items for free:
* Setup a comprehensive landing page for our guest to buy tickets for our event, and pay for titcket, as well as make an additional donation. You can also send out reminders or messages to all register guest.
*Set up a silent auction with various adjustable components, such as the start/end time/date, pricing, and increments for pricing to name a few. If you're not tech savvy, this part may seem overwhelming. Did I mention that it's free?
*Excel Export of donor information of stand alone donations.
*On Demand Customer support that was responsive and knowledgeable.
*Our non profit set up dummy events to test all the features available, which was a great way to discover the GiveButter potentional. We were amaze at how much it could do for free. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
it does have a few shortcomings depending on your needs. For that, there is a community of most requested items/features to add that GiveButter is actively working on. Our non profit would have happily paid for those options if they were available considering how much was already free. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
