Givebutter is free thanks to 100% optional tips we receive from donors. Optional tips from donors allow us to provide you with state-of-the-art features and world-class customer support, all without ever receiving a bill from us.
If you'd prefer to hide tips, a small Platform Fee applies instead based on the campaign type you’re using:
Donation form – 1%
Fundraising page – 3%
Event – 5%
We are proud to offer the lowest Platform Fees in the fundraising industry.
No matter which option you choose, all transactions include standard Processing Fees of 2.9% + 30¢ for all payment methods except ACH, which offers a reduced rate of 1.9% + 30¢ per transaction. These fees are charged by our payment processors and allows funds to be deposited into your account regardless of what payment method your donors choose.
More than 90% of donors on Givebutter cover fees when asked, resulting in an average campaign fee of less than 1%. 👏

It was simple to build my own page for our organization and to personalize as we wanted. We have several different events throughout the year and it was easy to separate them and then to connect to our website donate page. Connecting to our bank account was simple and easy to follow. I wouldn't say this was the least helpful, but there are several opportunities for either the donor or receipient to give a tip. When we have large donations come in, the tip can be hefty (even though it is optional). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Helpful and friendly customer support. They are very open to suggestions but implimenting takes quite a bit of time. They still seem to be getting on their feet as a company. As a nonprofit they are very reasonable in terms of fees. We love being able to pass fee costs on to ticket purchasers. With having multiple events every season we use this platform all the time and it helps keep our costs very low. We also love the option for ticket purchasers to also donate at the time of purchase, though this can be confusing to folks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
No waiting lists available, managing event capacities limited, unable to customize buttons and categories, unable to customize messaging to ticket holders. Export of reports clunky, it would be helpful to be able to create spreadsheets of reports online and customize different search categories instead of doing after the fact. Can't customize homepage or order of events, we never send users to our organization's givebutter homepage because of this. Users get very confused about the donate button and think they are purchasing tickets. Users give us feedback about the checkout being not easy to use. App is also clunky.
