Helpful and friendly customer support. They are very open to suggestions but implimenting takes quite a bit of time. They still seem to be getting on their feet as a company. As a nonprofit they are very reasonable in terms of fees. We love being able to pass fee costs on to ticket purchasers. With having multiple events every season we use this platform all the time and it helps keep our costs very low. We also love the option for ticket purchasers to also donate at the time of purchase, though this can be confusing to folks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
No waiting lists available, managing event capacities limited, unable to customize buttons and categories, unable to customize messaging to ticket holders. Export of reports clunky, it would be helpful to be able to create spreadsheets of reports online and customize different search categories instead of doing after the fact. Can't customize homepage or order of events, we never send users to our organization's givebutter homepage because of this. Users get very confused about the donate button and think they are purchasing tickets. Users give us feedback about the checkout being not easy to use. App is also clunky. Out of the many donation platforms we've tried, Givebutter has been the simpliest and most straight-straight forward out of all of them. Yes, sometimes it can be lacking in features, but especialy for a relatively small nonprofit, this is somewhat of a positive. Voulenteers can be trained on the platform in a matter of hourse, and it's dead-easy to create and share campaigns.
The web portal has continuously gotten better over the 1 1/2 yrs. we have used it -- the developers clearly care about user experience, and it shows.
There are a small number of built-in integrations, we found it relatively easy to link to platforms like Slack and Monday.com, and the CRM gets the job done. Keep in mind, this is no Salesforce CRM, but many smaller non-profits don't need it to be. It's incredibly easy to implement in small to medium size organizations which has helped us bring the focus back from wrangling with expensive, complex software, to actually connecting with donors and fundrasing.
Givebutter's customer support has been wonderful, though we've rarely found we need it. When we started using the platform, the founders personally reached out to us after a week to check that everything was going well. We had a few issues with verifying our nonprofit status, so we simpily relpied to the email and it was fixed in hours. We could not dream of a better customer support experience.
What sealed the deal for us, aside from Givebutter being a well-built platform was the pricing stucture. We found, that for a small org. like ours, it was the best way to keep the most of our money with the least headache. There are no monthly platform fees -- a godsend for a nonprofit that only funraises for a small part of the year, and the fees charged are reasonable. Yes, you will be charged the regular credit card processing fees (2.9% + 15 cents per donation), but this doesn't go to Givebutter and all platforms charge this. The fee charged for fundraisers is 3%, fairly reasonable, even more so when we found that about 90% of our donors covered all fees through the "tip" option.
This has been perfect for us, as we've kept about 98% of our donations net of fees, something we are happy to pay compared to what other platforms charge. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are few negative things we have to say about Givebutter; it fits very well with our usecase, but it may not be great for all organizations. This product is not (yet) competitive with some of the software larger organizations use. If you need a complex CMS, automated email engagement, rich connections and APIs, you won't find it here. Additionally, some features such as letter generation and text message outreach are definitely in their infancy.
Customer support is great at resolving issues, and the app is constantly updated, but don't be surprised if you find a few bugs in the user interface. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Our non-profit org decided to do an online silent auction during a fundraising event. Give Butter was able to do the following items for free:
* Setup a comprehensive landing page for our guest to buy tickets for our event, and pay for titcket, as well as make an additional donation. You can also send out reminders or messages to all register guest.
*Set up a silent auction with various adjustable components, such as the start/end time/date, pricing, and increments for pricing to name a few. If you're not tech savvy, this part may seem overwhelming. Did I mention that it's free?
*Excel Export of donor information of stand alone donations.
*On Demand Customer support that was responsive and knowledgeable.
*Our non profit set up dummy events to test all the features available, which was a great way to discover the GiveButter potentional. We were amaze at how much it could do for free. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
it does have a few shortcomings depending on your needs. For that, there is a community of most requested items/features to add that GiveButter is actively working on. Our non profit would have happily paid for those options if they were available considering how much was already free. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I used this for a non-profit gala specifically for the auction. For those purposes, this was a great solution. It made managing the auction much easier than paper only. It has a nice UI and UX, that was user-friendly and intuitive. We were concerned about people figuring out how to use an online bidding tool, but didn't have any issues at the event. It has much more functionality than this, so look forward to using more of it next year.
Setup was easy and intuitive. I did reach out to customer support a couple times throughout, and always received quick responses. The price is very good and competitive with all the other platforms out there. This was key to our non-profit. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It would be ideal to be able to register on behalf of bidders so that they were in the system prior to the event. Some of our guests are not tech savvy, so the more we can do on their behalf, the better. They are used to paper based bidding, so there definitely was a bit of a learning curve. Not sure we got more bids than paper-based because of this. Also, the ability to mass add items would be nice. Right now, you can only add one at a time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

GiveButter has so many amazing features. It has been completely thought out by it's team. I have worked on bigger sytems by top company's who see non-profits as another demograhic to sell to, GiveButter clearly is designed with non-profts in mind. The ease of use and implamentation of campaigns and events could not be easier. And if you need help, thier customer servce is quick to respond and always has the answers you need. GiveButter is a WYSIWYG system, it is so simple to use and navigate, and their training academy is super helpful and to the point. Additionally integrating it with outher products is simple and properly explained in the help chats and videos. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Hmmmm, I have not come across anything yet that I do not like. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Givebutter has been a game-changer for us! As a small, rural, non-profit radio station, we run on a shoestring budget. Givebutter's pricing, being that it is essentially free except for manageable processing/platform fees, gives us a way to increase our fundraising revenue without eating too much into this revenue.
I have so many things I love about it. I am someone with a long history in SAAS, from both the vendor/CSM side (I have worked for numerous SAAS companies) and the user side. The support is unparalleled. We had a good onboarding experience and I appreciate having a dedicated CSM to call on when something is more urgent or goes beyond the scope of their support team. The in-app chat support is phenomenal. Very responsive and helpful, plus I love the animated .gifs :) The AI chatbot is also extremely reliable and oftentimes the bot can get me what I need without having to chat with someone!! Their help guides are truly self-service which is not an easy task. I am often able to get my own questions answered. Their webinars and guides are also very useful.
One reason we went with Givebutter after a pretty exhaustive search was the complete suite of capabilities in one tool. While it is a bit basic, and always being enhanced and expanded upon (and they now have a paid suite of upgraded products), it more than fits our needs. They are always accepting feature requests and they let you know when one that you submitted has been released. We LOVE the email product. We previously had been sending emails from a personal email address (not compliant and not trackable! And quite tedious.) I love the SMS capabilities too. SMS is now going to be something you have to pay for, which I understand. The basic email meets our needs.
I think whether you're a small org like us or a larger org, the capabilities are there for you and you should STRONGLY consider this. We looked at much larger CRM/donation platform companies that charged a lot more, and I am so happy we went with Givebutter. Not too much, not too little... JUST RIGHT!! Building segments/lists could be a bit more intuitive. It's somewhat clunky. It's not always easy to figure out the right logic or the right filters to do what you want. In particular, sometimes I want to exclude certain criteria and that has proven more tricky than I think it should be.
The way they handle Householding was initially cumbersome, but I think they have enhanced it. We need to go back and re-do some of our setup to utilize the new features, and luckily our database is small enough that it won't be a hugely tedious task but it will take some time.
Also, unfortunately the paid options are not something we will be able to afford. They price based on # of contacts, and it gets a bit expensive for us, but we are a VERY small org. I can understand why they need to start charging though. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
For someone who is not a tech person, I can easily navigate the backend to put forward the best fundraising campaign. I also like how we are able to make sure every penny that is donated makes it to our beneficiary! Also, the customer support and transparency of the entire site, A+++ Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing yet. Every tool that I need is available. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

simple to get started right away, set up process was easy, good customization even on the free account, nice integations and super simple to connect accounts, terrific support, great for small AND large teams, good organization, tons of free tools to use, useful for daily donations and great for events, love that you can have multiple options for each page and tailor it to specific events or giving periods Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
we haven't discovered any downside as of yet Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Not only does Givebutter have a stellar user interface, it also has an equally well-designed and user-friendly backend, making working on the content management side an intuitive and smooth experience.
Givebutter sets you up for success with plenty of learning articles/help pages, videos on how to do everything, and a 3 day boot camp so you can dig in and ask questions when you're getting started. In our case, they also assigned us a customer success manager that we were able to ask one-on-one questions to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I'm not sure there is anything I dislike! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I recommend GiveButter to the nonprofits that I work with and provide consulting to when they need a tool for creating fundraising campaigns. It is easy to set up and easy to use and every campaign can be distinctly customized to meet the nonprofit's needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have been using GiveButter for a couple of years and haven't found anything I dislike about it as of yet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Givebutter is user-friendly and we love the convenience of being able to collect donations, track them per campaign, and communicate directly with our donors/supporters. It did not take us long to integrate our old system into this one. We use Givebutter almost daily. We love that we can also text our supporters. The ease of scheduling communications is fantastic and it saves me so much time. Our staff have called Customer Support a few times and they were very helpful and helped us resolve the issue(s). One of my favorite tools is how we can track any revenue generated from emails or SMS messages. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wish there were more templates or options for switching up the look of the emails. I tried to embed a video and it would be great if they could play the video directly from the email, instead of it taking them to a different site (YouTube for example) after clicking the link for the video.
