I like organizing a project by notes and insights table/charts versus having these files live separately. People can add comments like google or confluence. The best part is the search tool. You can search by keyboard and see a preview of the notes. This is not possible in google or confluence and you have to keep opening files to see if it's relevant to you. Everything feels like a flat view. You have to work to add folders and tags otherwise it's all a flat list. Wish there were more columns to see the projects more organized. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Dovetail is an amazing tool that has transformed my research workflow. Its intuitive interface and powerful features make organizing and analyzing qualitative data incredibly efficient. The ability to tag insights, easily share findings, and access a centralized research repository has significantly improved my team's productivity. I particularly appreciate the seamless integration with other tools and the user-friendly design that encourages collaboration among team members. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only downside I've encountered is related to the Team pricing structure. I wish there were more features available at this level, as many advanced functionalities seem to be locked behind the Enterprise edition. It would be great to access a wider range of tools without needing to upgrade, which could enhance our team's capabilities even further. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Perfeito! The transcript in Brazilian Portuguese could be better, it takes a lot of work to rewrite everything. Also to give some courses on how to use, best practices in research and compiling interview data, tagging. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Organizing research projects and integrating the research pipeline into a single tool is simple.
Using the data fields, I can organize and connect projects, and view filtering is helpful for showing research activities by themes or preferences.
The AI summaries feature for interviews is a game changer for us, as we wear different hats in the organization and are in a short time, accelerating the time to the insights. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I do not dislike it properly, but I struggle more with the Insight Report format because we prefer using slides as a company, and the copy-paste process is not straightforward.
The list of users we research is challenging for me if it is not carefully managed.
I want to use templates more, but I didn't find it useful to use a template without having a proper preview and implementing it in the project.
I appreciate the concept of automating clustering, but I found it didn't provide significant assistance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Dovetail saves our teams so much time on synthesising user insights. Mainly with their transcription and AI insights powered by Antropic. Being able to create insights for research means we can segment and single out special interest research that we can then present rapidly to the client and thus accelerating our product design process. Having the ability to live-collaborate with the design members on a single client means we can build out tags and insights much faster than sticky-notes on a screen. We also hand over the repo to the client who can continue to build out the insights as more product testing happens in the future. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes it's careful to be mindful of the AI insights, make sure you check it thoughoughly. This is on the human-in-the-loops responsibility, not so much Dovetail though. I'd like to see more in-app quick tutorials and embedded help but i'm sure Dovetail have this planned. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like that there is a site-wide search where I can type keywords and find anything that is related. I also love the direct import from Zoom so I can link up and transcribe my interviews, which saves me a TON of time. Of course the tagging is great, it's important for our organization to quantify the qualitative research we get. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't love that only insights get prioritized for viewing, I wish some of the ReadMe parts of projects did too. I am also struggling a bit with some of the new AI features, and how they are applied (I'd like to turn them off for certain parts of the product and I don't figure out how) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Dovetail is an incredibly versatile research repository. It is the tool we use to store, analyze, and present our qualitative UX research data. It is very quick and easy to analyse multiple interviews and identify patterns. It can help a power use to cut through the data in different ways and create compelling reports whilst linking to the evidence. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Dovetail can be overwhelming for less experienced users who join an organization that is already using it in specific ways. Also, depending on how well organized the information is, it can also be a challenge to find the right thing for a stakeholder who is not using it regularly. Dovetail is a great tool to centralize, analyze and leverage customer insights. It helps us be intentional with the information we're trying to collect from our customers and share insights to colleagues. I use it monthly basis and even though I didnt have any formal training on it, I can easily find my way around in most cases. They just released a bunch of new features, such as Channel, which I am really excited to experiment with and integrate with our various customer insights sources. The tagging system can become a bit complex to leverage in an optimal way. The folder/project/tag relation could be made simpler as we find ourselves often ending up with multiple tags that are very similar but act independent. This skews the weight of insights when running analysis. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love the way Dovetail offers auto-transcribing videos (to my surprise it worked really well with Polish language), and jumping through that video by selecting the right parts from transcription. With highlighter and tagging I can quickly find the most interesting parts of the video.
Before, my team rarely watched the recordings from usability testing, but it changed with relevant clips made in Dovetail. And it really changed their attitude to feedback when they were able to see participants reactions, instead of just summary. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
When I started to use Dovetail I felt that there should be more guidance on how to organise my work in that tool so it would be most helpful. I had to spent a lot of time to figure it out, and re-iterate on my initial ideas. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Dovetail has opened up customer feedback to our entire product team. I use this product daily, and we have hundreds of hours in our repository that allow our product team to get a temperature gauge on our customers on any subject we've collected feedback on.
The AI summaries are amazing and allow users to quickly understand the customer problem by summarizing across all mentions. Overall the product is incredibly easy to get up and running and sharing out feedback outside of Dovetail. We are so happy to have a repository to organize product feedback. It can be a bit tricky navigating around the product sometimes and I wish we were able to timebox search results. For example, it would be helpful to know feedback about a particular feature since its redesign 6 months ago. Any feedback before them would not be as relevant and we would want to exclude those from the summary. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I’ve been using Dovetail for qualitative data analysis since 2021, and it has significantly improved my workflow and efficiency as a qualitative researcher. Before switching to Dovetail, I used Google Docs with a makeshift plugin to export insights to Google Sheets. I’ve also experimented with Miro, but nothing compares to Dovetail’s ease of analysis. I’m especially excited about the upcoming 3.0 release, with its new AI features that I hope will further accelerate my work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I'm really excited about what’s to come with Dovetail 3.0. I’m hoping that manual tagging of every interview becomes a thing of the past, with the AI able to identify patterns based on just 2-3 interviews and auto-code the rest according to themes predefined by the researcher. The "human in the loop" principle is crucial to me, and I’m hopeful that Dovetail 3.0 will make this leap. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
