There are two facets of Donor Perfect that I think make it stand out. First, it is easy to use and to teach others how to use. For the most part, it is very intuitive, making bringing new users on hassle-free. Second, the support team, both via chat and phone, is excellent. They are consistently available, knowledgeable, and helpful. I mostly contact support for use questions, as opposed to technical issues, and they are alwasys easy to reach and usually able to help immediately. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We are a small non profit that does not use the majority of Donor Perfect features. Things like events, contacts, and mass mailings are just areas that we don't use - not because they are difficult to figure out, but because our organization does not do those things. I've found Donor Perfect to be incredibly valuable for our nonprofit, which operates with just under 200 employees. The software's ease of use is a standout feature for me; it's intuitive and streamlined, making it easy to navigate even for complex tasks. One of my favorite aspects is the ability to attach all essential documents directly to each donor account, keeping everything organized and accessible.
Reporting is another strong suit of Donor Perfect. I appreciate that I can easily create custom reports tailored to our specific needs, whether it's tracking donations, analyzing donor trends, or preparing for board meetings. The flexibility in reporting tools really empowers us to extract meaningful insights from our data.

While DonorPerfect offers some useful features, there are a few areas that need significant improvement for our nonprofit’s needs. One of the biggest issues is its financial integration. It doesn't offer the level of customization or seamless connection with our financial systems that we require, making it harder to track and manage our finances effectively.
Additionally, managing duplicate accounts is cumbersome. The process isn't as simplified as it should be, and there’s no easy way to handle duplicates efficiently within the system. It can be time-consuming and confusing, which adds unnecessary complexity to our donor management.
I also find it difficult to locate our account information in DonorPerfect. The layout could be much more intuitive, and it's not always easy to find what I need when I need it. The account details are not in a location that's straightforward or easy to access, which often leads to wasted time and frustration.

I get the true sense that the more I put into DonorPerfect, the more I get out. With a plethora of ways to categorize, flag, narrate, and note on gifts and donors, DonorPerfect becomes a knowledge base of the organization. A more streamlined access to support would be helpful. There are times I wish there were little "?" bubbles that you could hover over and it would give you more information on what a specific section of the website is for. Ease of use, good interface, easy to modify to suit your organization, excellent support and Knowledge Base. We converted from SalesForce, which was not serving our purposes. DP staff were helpful in that transfer though in retrospect, I wish we had done it a little differently. It is great to be able to easily input donors and gifts into DP, to analyze and pull reports based on coding, and otherwise get a good handle on our donor base and potential donors. Some of the more advanced applications are not particularly intuitive and require training. It is important to do a comprehensive transfer of an existing donorbase into DP. I like the chat support the best. This has been the best part of the program for me since starting using it. Since I am often in a situation where I need tech support (as the software can be difficult to navigate and not user friendly) I get chat support quickly and efficiently. Recently, there was an issue that the chat person could not figure out. They escalated my problem to a product specialist and took extra care to fix my form. THis was greatly appreciated. I think that the reports and user profiles are difficult to navigate. There are too many fields making it hard to maintain. Something like EOY tax letters should be easy, but the process for email is entirely different than that for physical letters, which does not make sense from a user perspective. The upsides of Donor Perfect is the fact that it is user friendly. I have been in fund-raising for many years and have used a variety of donor software and Donor Peferfect is the most user friendly. From adding fields, to creating consistent coding and the phone support staff is awesome. I am actually purchase one on one time so that our system which was not used effectively in the past will be used as meant to be by Donor Perfect. We lack consistency in coding, etc. only because the staff is not familiar with fund-raising and donor software.
From my experience I know what should be included in the system and the support staff has been excellent at getting me where I need to be. Once November is complete I will be creating a manual for ease of use by staff. The ease of adding fields really helps. I used a software where only the support staff could add fields. Something as simple as how a donor's name should appear in publications. I easily added a field the reads Publication Name. Once you learn the basics of the software, it is truly a wonderful tool to be able to effectively solicit donations in specific ways. Being able to integrate systems with Ready Set Auction as well as multiple payment options through SafeSave payment processing has made a huge difference in our fundraising capabilities. The initial learning of the program can be tedious as there is a lot to take in, however, customer service is outstanding. When I had an issue or question, I was able to get a representative via chat within two minutes each time. I also utilize the email support and they respond quickly as well. I do with that the applications used with this such as ReadySetAuction allowed for real time transfers of info back to DonorPerfect so that we would know when a payment has been made. DonorPerfect is not only user-friendly, it's very customizable! We have used it now for several years & find it to be a great tool to track the types of donors, campaigns we run and are now using it to record pledges. It's easy to create reports and export them. Conversion was a breeze! We pay for the phone support & find it very worthwhile. We all used it everyday. We're currently working on integrating it with Quickbooks online. I am not sure that it is desined from a GAAP perspective (Generally Accepted Accounting Principals). I wish the creation of a pledge also created a gift because it's required to count the gift as soon as the donor pledges to give it to you. But then you also have to record the funds when they arrive as "gifts". That has been our only hurdle. We created seperate G/L accounts to aid in tracking pledges. For the most part, DonorPerfect has good customer support and they can also do a lot with software integration. The API documentation is very detailed and the integration support team wsd technically savvy. They have a test sandbox environment for changes, and deprecations which many protocols manage to not keep up with. The developer portal is working as it should be and provides all tools and outlines to do integration work. It was relatively easy to implement and use the API for our specific use case which was to extract data on donations made. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Slow responses on more complicated integration questions, their tech team should be participating in developer community boards. While they even offer support for custom integration this comes at an additional cost which may challenge small enterprises.
