I like the ease of use and the analytics. The graphics that are included on the dashboards are really helpful to see a high-level view of fundraising dollars. The list functionality is getting there--it's not quite as robust as a query, but I can see how it might evolve. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's costly and prices small nonprofits out of utilizing it. Customer support is lacking, and it's difficult to get a hold of someone if you run into an issue. If you want to add features, often they come with an additional price. If you want to integrate a product outside of NXT, it's not always easy to do and always comes at an additional cost as well. Raiser's Edge NXT is a web based version of your RE database that houses everything you have recorded about your constituents, including biographical information, giving history, staff interactions and multiple other pieces of information. RE makes it very easy to navigate a donors record using common terms like Bio, Addresses, Relationships and Gifts. The most important aspect of NXT is that it is web based, so the information can be accessed from anywhere, and on any device. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
If you were a user of the Raiser's Edge (database view) before upgrading to RE NXT (web view), you are going to notice a lot of quirky things about RE NXT that need to be addressed still, if there is even a plan to address them. One of the most concerning things is that the terminology used between the two views of RE can be different. Additionally, when uploading attachments to the Media tab/tile of a constituent record, the attachments are only visible in NXT if they are added from the original database view. If your fundraisers are adding attachment vix NXT remotely, they are not able to be seen from the database view, and often get added twice becasue data folks add them in the proper way without realizing they were already added in NXT.
The reporting capabilities in NXT do seem to be much more modernized, but there was a good 6 month period of time where revenues from database view and NXT did not match. It took months of working with a product support team for them to identify a "code problem" on the backend of Raiser's Edge that was causing a doscconet between the two. Unfortunatly, due to that situation, and so many countless others, I do tell our fundraiser's that they cannot trust revenue figures from RE NXT without running them by me to double check from the database view.
RE NXT has the potential to be a great tool, but Blackbaud is a huge company and they often seem to be very focused on "the next thing," rather than focusing on trying to enhance the current thing. Or in some cases, just make the current tools work properly.
And once you're locked in to a multi-year contract with them, you're kind of on your own with problems and frustrations, and their customer service is terrible. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's a one-stop shop to help track clients, activities, appeals, emails, payments, and much more! The customization is endless, really. If there is a function that you need to track/report/list, there is a way to do it on Raiser's Edge NXT. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I do not find the Database version very user friendly. Occasionally there are SO many options that it is hard to decipher which one is best to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

NXT is intuitive and easy to use. Multiple optional widgets are team favorites. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is extremely expensive and annual rate increases are astronomical. One of our favorite features in currently on the chopping block and ready to be eliminated. Frequent down time makes access inconsistent which is frustrating. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love how easy it is for donor-facing fundraisers to record their actions and search for constituents. It is very user-friendly. Reporting is also very robust and easy to customize using query and export. The optimized donation form through online giving looks great! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is room for the duplicate detention tool to get better as a lot of duplicates slip through the cracks, when using an event registration form the payments show up as donations on the constituent record which can cause reporting problems, and recurring gifts cannot be processed as pledge payments unfortunately. Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT is a great and modenr way for Raiser's Edge to allow fundraisers and others to really manage their database and customer relationships. There are many features that you can add and use to ensure that you are getting the most out of it. In addition, there is a lot of support from forums and customer service who will help if set you up for success. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The main downside is that there is a lot of ways that you can utilize NXT and so you really need to work with a professional to ensure you are using it correctly and that it is set up appropirately for your needs. It is not to difficult to manage and worth it to ensure that you are maximizing your use of the platform. It is just as user friendly as Salesforce or ClearView and a great competitor to them, especially as they add more features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The reporting formats much better and the filters for the reporting are clearer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Since the transition to RE NXT is not complete, it is hard to say what I don't like. I find it more difficult to edit gifts which I don't like. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like that the NXT component of Raiser's Edge allows for more up-to-date tech connections (via cloud APIs) while we can still have other staff working off the Raiser's Edge desktop app to pull the more granular data for us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wish that Raiser's Edge NXT offered a higher caliber of built-in tools (email, reporting, etc.) that were on par with their competitors (salesforce). We've found the built-in tools lacking, forcing us to spend extra on other tools and then having to set up integrations between the different tools and NXT as possible. I love that there are classes you can take that have real people teaching them. It very much helps with getting up and running with the software. I also like that they have very responsive customer service so if something goes wrong, you're able to figure out how to fix it instead of just hoping some random person online asked your exact question at some point Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The way the database view looks is so dated and clunky that it is difficult to learn how to use it at times. It is definitely not intuitive. It is also very frustrating that, even once you learn how to complete a task in database view (after 35 clicks and three hours spent training with an instructor), those same features are not available in the webview/NXT. And sometimes, the data you just entered may be in NXT somewhere, but it is under a different name and in a completely different layout so if no one you're working with knows where it is, you have to contact support to see if it's hidden under a different name somewhere Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The ability to access a wide range of our data in a web browser from any device rather than have to worry about having access to a laptop with dedicated software (although the database view is also packed with function) - great for donor managers and staff that are on the go and need to access data. Huge bank of integrations with other softwares, and now really excited about partnership with Microsoft Power Platform for more data integration. UI is clean and easy to navigate, and security/user permissions are easy to manage as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Currently, gifts need to be reviewed individually in web view, rather than batch view like the databse view supports - hoping to see upgrades on that in the near future. Support chat can be slow and not provide as much support as their phone support can be. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
