Besides the reasonable pricing, the website is very good. Payroll is easy to process, and PTO is easy to manage. They have good online resources for HR management. Periodic newsletter emails are actually very helpful in making us aware of federal and state regulations, especially for a small business that doesn't have a dedicated HR team. Justworks is like a typical PEO after the "honeymoon phase" of being a client: if you are too small, service will get scaled back. Six months after we signed up, we were pushed out of its medical plans (citing 3x premium increases) and steered to their outside broker/Covered CA. One of the reasons a small business signs up with a PEO in the first place is to be able to take advantage of large group healthcare premiums. We still receive our dental, vision, life and other benefits through them, but it was disappointing to not be able to benefit from lower medical premium rates and the "one stop shop" of having Justworks provide everything we need (it's more work for us now as we are on different benefit years and dealing with outside entities). Also, we lost our dedicated account manager last spring. Various customer service reps have been very helpful, but it can get confusing when more than one person chimes in on a request or you are juggling multiple requests with them. For the very small business, just go in with your eyes wide open as to what the possibilities might be down the road - some of the burden may wind up back on you. The technology is simple enough to use and when you need support it is easy to get in touch with a support rep. It was simple to implement, and does automate most tasks like payroll and 401k. After on-boarding there is absolutely no proactive service outreach. The time tracking tool is difficult becuase it does not show pending, already approved time off in the requests which can case approval without sufficient balances. There is no performance management module whatsoever, and benefit renewals is completely on your own. This review is specifically about Justworks as a PEO. As an outsourced provider of accounting and payroll support to nonprofits, we have tried just about every PEO out there. Our number 1 choice is always Justworks - we love it so much we even moved our firm from a traditional payroll processor to JW! They guided us personally and professionally every step of the way during onboarding and implementation. Their support is incredibly responsive. We integrated their system with our other internal processes and apps with no fuss. The platform is easy to use, clear, and highly transparent in terms of costs.
