Small footprint takes up very little of the student laptop resources. Students can not uninstall or kill the client. It is great for when you need to remote help or remote push out something at is a one off. I use it 10+ times a day in our environment. We have 3,000 devices. We will also use it to see when the last time a device was active and what the IP was to help us find lost or stolen devices. I live the grouping and favorite features, I have my 'watch list' of students. We use it as a remote audio tool as well... when we need to setup a presentation with a projector away from the sound system we simply slashtop into the laptop next to the projector and use the remote connection for the audio out to the sound system. has worked flawlessly for us on multiple occasions. Sure beats running a mic cable with a DI box. I can not say enough nice things about my customer service rep. The is there to help me every time i have a licensing question, he also understood clearly how K-12 differs from an Enterprise, especially around budgeting. Implementing was a breeze over inTune, i could not have asked for an easier integration! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
1. Really really dislike the update process for the for the app (not the streamer client). In the middle of logging in it pops up and tells you that you need an update, ok, sure, it would be nice if it waited until after you log in, 99% of the time if disrupts the login. When you hit cancel for the update it says do you want to exit the program... what a poor choice of words, makes it sound like you are exiting splashtop, not the updater. It sucks how many times when i am in a hurry that it pops up and i pause to think about that. It would be better to have a banner in the app that says you have an update and you click that instead of being intrusive.
2. Needs a 'silent' connection option for the streamer. There are times when we need to covertly monitor student activity for safety concerns or school rule violations. It is not possible with splashtop, each connection pops up with a 'so and so is not accessing your computer' this tool would be perfect for k-12 schools if it wasn't for that.
3. big wish, it would be nice if you actually had a dos box, instead of sending commands to dos. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love that I can quickly access all our computers remotely, whether or not the user is logged in. It works quickly and easily. Installation is also quite simple: just go to the deployment URL, download, and run the installer. I use it frequently to help our employees at their various locations. Sometimes, remote computers appear offline even though a user is logged in and connected to the Internet. I have to instruct them to restart the computer to gain access. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is very easy to send instructions for the end user to join a remote session to complete any assistance needed Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One downside to have the hands free client installed on a remote machine is that it prompts you to login. Sometimes I would like to just start the session and be under the current user. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Splashtop is easy to install and use. I only use it to access programs on multiple computers (think remoting in for work) so I know nothing about the additional features it has.
I love that I can transfer files between computers and easily print to my printer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't like that after I print, it doesn't reset so my clients print to nowhere the next time they use their computer. The program should never leave remnants behind like this on others' computers.
It super slows down the computer that I remote into. So to run a QuickBooks report that should take a few minutes, it can take a half hour. I click on wrong things because it can lag so bad. When I remote into my own personal computer, it actually locks up due to the lag. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Splashtop works from your phone, computer, or tablet. And you can remote into a phone, computer, or tablet. With the endpoint add-on, it's almost as robust as Kaseya. They're adding more and more features all the time and has the potential to be THE go-to remote control endpoint management software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Two things about Splashtop I wish would change -
1) Remoting in without notification. There are times IT is tasked with monitoring an employee. Splashtop does not offer an option to connect without notifying the endpoint.
2) I'd like to be able to add techs to multiple computer groups. Right now I can only assign one tech to a group. So all techs are assigned to one group and all endpoints are in that group. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are several things about Splasthop that I love:
Can see if the device is online, access Services, use cmd and so much more. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
nothing... works awesome. I litterally use it as a backup RMM. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The pricing is wonderful and the ease of use is great. Within a few minutes my clients run the link and I gain access to their computer so I can train them or consult with them by using the remote. I am quite pleased with this product as I have used numerous products in the past and Splashtop is by far the easiest and most cost effective Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is nothing I can think of that I do not like about Splashtop. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Our company switched from Log Me In to Splashtop and so far we are very pleased. It feels just like I'm in front of my work computer when I am working off site and I appreciate how helpful the customer service people have been at Splashtop. The price is better than Log me in as well! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
