Tropic's contract tracking tools have made a huge impact on our business. When onboarding, we quickly learned the extent to which our contracts and payments were decentralized. We have been able to organize, consolidate, and control spending to a much greater degree.
The real assets of Tropic are its employees. Everyone we have encountered is extremely capable, helpful, and kind. Our success managers have felt like part of our team, and Tropic's commercial executives have saved us more than we anticipated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
When Tropic makes updates to its platform, it can cause a bit of confusion because of the need to edit preexisting contracts and adjust their details/fields to align with the new updates. Also, we have submitted multiple feature requests that are minor in nature, and Tropic has not implemented them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Tropic is a single source of truth for all of our software contracts and has some very nice dashboards to allow you track renewal dates and other important details of your stack. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Getting buy in from users. Enablement has been diffcicult for us as we have not had the time to properly educate departments on the new process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I think when it comes when it comes to better management of vendors, I cannot think of anything beyond Tropic! They have really made Tropic as a great platform to manage all this under once place. It is very easy to use first of all. All you need to do is set up some workflows based on your needs and it will do a job for you. We have some of the users that use Tropic on a regular basis, also they have live support through some slack connections which is always a plus. I was the part of set up program, it was very easy to implement Tropic into our environment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I think cost is slightly higher but if you are negotiating it well, then you will eventually save a lot of money. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

As a procurement leader, the Tropic support team is proactive and dedicated to assist. Honestly, the response is real time and they bend over backwards to help with issues and keep me on track. The Supplier intelligence is critical and just gets better every day. Only company I partner with that the founder takes such a personal interest in the customer. The Kanban view is great and they roll out features weekly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Only comment would be keep the supplier intelligence growing on smaller non core suppliers. Especially in the Saas space. Anytime I have a complaint they correct it so fast or teach me how to use the tool better so not a lot here. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Tropic has been a great resource that provides a wide range of knowledge on vendor negotations and best practices. The benchmark pricing background they can offer for the vendors we work with has been extremely valuable and has ensured we are spending efficiently for the software we use. The only area where we struggle as an organization is when to loop Tropic into new vendor purchases. The renewal cadence is very straightforward, but often times commercial negotiations happen during vendor evaluation where multiple vendors may still be in play and we haven't selected a vendor of choice to negotiate with. Tropic helps reduce our software costs without us needing to dedicate a team to contract negotiations. The platform is also very useful for keeping an archive of all our contracts and information around renewal dates. The Account Manager and Customer Success Manager that we work with have been very communicative and easy to work with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The information in Tropic is reliant upon someone on our side to maintain accurate data. ie. contract renewal/end dates and other contract information are not automatically populated using uplodaded contracts; so there is some manual lift required to ensure proper data hygiene. The two biggest pros of using Tropic are the time savings & the cost savings. Having a dedicated commercial executive for every purchase/renewal to handle the negotiations with vendors is such a burden lifted from a time perspective. Additionally, Tropic guarantees to save you a specific multiplier over what it costs to use them as a service, so it's virtually a "risk-free" investment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are some bugs on the platform -- nothing major, but sometimes it causes issues here & there. Additionally, commercial executives are assigned on Tropic's end, and you quickly learn that some CE's are better than others but you don't have a choice in who gets assigned to which request. Once you get the system set up, I like the reminders that are sent to ensure we don't miss a opt out or that we properly consider the auto renewal. So far the negotiators I've worked with are competent and helpful.
I like the history and context that gets logged on the thread for future reference Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Platform is hard to use. Trying to navigate is hard to contracts and vendors are hard. Trying to decipher all the information on each contract term is overwhelming with information. Dates and statuses are hard to follow.
Implementation wasn't smooth because Tropics was in the process of switching platforms so we didn't utilize the platform very much and couldn't view reports. The reports were always compiled manually by our account manager.
The amount of back and forth via emails is a bit overwhelming but everyone got used to it.
Workflows are confusing and really slows down the process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Being able to see where the spend is and when contracts are coming due are the 2 biggest benefits in my opinion. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Soetimes when filing out a new contract, it will throw you out of the screen and you have to start over (this is not a logout issue, this is just a bug. It always happens when filling out the contract value or contract dates.) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like how organized it is and allows us to upload contracts in one place. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing so far, I think it has helped our company out in a lot of different ways Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
