What do you like best about Syxsense?

Syxsense has allowed our organziation to move to a modern approach to patch management. The best part of using an SaaS like Syxsense is that we are able to manage endpoints that are simply connected to the internet and has no VPN requirements. Our previous solution failed to capture and manage all endpoints as they were not regularly or consistantly connected to VPN. This is acomplished by a Syxsense agent installed on the endpoint. This is far better and provides more reliable patching versus WSUS. After sales customer support was redily available to help us get onboarded and to troubleshoot initail issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Syxsense?

The issues the we exprienced are mostly due to our organizations unfamiliarlity with cloud-based solutions. Others who are more familiar will likely not expreince this issue. The issue we faced was wtih the intial configuration and naming of groups, collections, etc. Since this is a cloud application, unique name requirements applied and this prevented us from simply replicating our existing organzatinal structure. While onboading and intergrating with Syxsense was easy, this was a minor understanding hurdle we had to overcome. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Syxsense solving and how is that benefiting you?

The most significant problem it solved for us, especially during the pandemic, was that we were able to manage and patch endpoints that infrequently connected to VPN. We use Office 365 and a subset of our staff access their Office 365 over the web exclusively, thus they do not regularly connect to VPN. This created a security risk for us as the non-VPN endpoints were not getting patched by WSUS. Syxsense as a SaaS with a Windows agent solved this problem for us. We also gained remote desktop access to non-VPN endpoints as a bonus feature of the Widnows Syxsense agent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Syxsense:

If you want a suite that is continually developing towards their customers needs, this is the one for you! i hightly reccomend syxsense to anyone hoping to get away from the old school Wsus or other over complicated patching tools! When Setting up syxsense the team was very helpful in answering some of my complicated asks, and offered some easy to follow tutorials and hands on help, they also offer an amazing knowledge base for quick reference! Syxsense does a great job clearly labling the security vulnerabilities making it easy to pick out the CVSS scores to push our 0 day critical patches.

I highly Reccomend Syxsense Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Syxsense?

The continuous improvements made to the product since we started using it years ago. Makes managing a network much simpler through all the different tools available such as patching, inventory, software deployment and more. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Syxsense?

One thing that has remained an issue are the RC tools which have been a problem since day one of using the product. Although improvements have been made, there is still some issues that need addressing such as remote sessions cutting out, lag, display problems for the end user, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Syxsense solving and how is that benefiting you?

Being able to automate our patching meaning both clients and servers remain up-to-date with security fixes leaving us more compliant with cyber standards and better prepared against security threats.

Rolling out software through Syxsense tasks instead of installing it onto individual machines makes the job so much simpler and quicker to carry out.

Using cortex workflows to automate other tasks and fixes throughout the network also makes things a lot simpler.

Getting a simplified view of the entire network through a web UI helps better manage the network as a whole. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Syxsense?

Syxsense’s patch management solution stands out for its user-friendly interface that simplifies the daunting task of identifying and patching computers. The ability to quickly locate devices and deploy necessary updates without extensive manual intervention is a game-changer, enhancing productivity and minimizing system vulnerabilities. Additionally, the integration of PowerShell command execution directly to computers is an excellent feature, providing advanced users with the flexibility to perform complex tasks seamlessly.

Cost efficiency is another strong suit of this utility, offering robust features without breaking the bank. It’s reassuring to have access to such a powerful tool at a reasonable price point. Syxsense’s patch management tool is not only good for maintaining system integrity but also for keeping IT budget in check. Overall, it’s a reliable, efficient, and budget-friendly solution for IT environments that need to stay agile and secure. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Syxsense?

While Syxsense offers an array of strengths, it does have its limitations, particularly in the area of reporting. One notable downside is the lack of customizable reports. Although the solution comes equipped with a variety of useful canned reports that provide insights out of the box, the inability to tailor these reports to the specific needs of a business can be a drawback. In the realm of IT, where nuanced data analysis is crucial, the flexibility to create bespoke reports is often a necessity for in-depth assessment and strategic planning.

This limitation can hinder an organization's ability to drill down into the data that is most relevant to their unique environment or to present information in a format that aligns with their internal processes. For businesses that rely heavily on custom reporting to inform decisions and to demonstrate compliance or audit readiness, this could be a significant concern. Enhancing the reporting features to include customizable options would undoubtedly elevate the overall utility and appeal of Syxsense's patch management solution. What problems is Syxsense solving and how is that benefiting you?

Syxsense is solving a variety of problems associated with patch management and system maintenance, which benefits users in several ways:

Automated Patch Deployment: It automates the process of identifying and applying patches to computers within a network. This reduces the manual workload on IT staff and minimizes the risk of human error.

Centralized Management: Syxsense centralizes the management of patching processes, making it easier to monitor and control patch deployments across multiple systems and environments from a single interface.

Time Efficiency: By streamlining the patching process, Syxsense saves significant time for IT teams, freeing them up to focus on other critical tasks.

Security: Keeping systems up to date with the latest patches is crucial for security. Syxsense helps in quickly mitigating vulnerabilities, thus reducing the risk of security breaches.

Direct PowerShell Command Execution: This allows for advanced administrative tasks to be executed directly, providing IT administrators with powerful scripting capabilities to manage systems more effectively.

Cost-Effectiveness: As a fairly inexpensive solution, it provides a robust set of tools without a large investment, making it accessible for businesses of all sizes and helping to manage IT budgets more effectively.

The combination of these features means that Syxsense is not just solving the technical problem of keeping systems up to date and secure, but it's also contributing to broader organizational benefits such as operational efficiency, resource optimization, and financial savings. What do you like best about Syxsense?

The support is great. Getting the initial configuration setup was painless. I like the ability to create flows for patch management. We are currently in the process of configuring the security scanning portion of the applicaiton. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Syxsense?

Some of the features are not fully flushed out or polished. The UI makes it difficult to know what is a button, what is a title, what is a column header, what is editable, etc. Some of the features also work for a while, then break. It take a bit of time to figure out what went wrong, and how the issue can be resolved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Syxsense solving and how is that benefiting you?

Havning all of our servers and end devices patched on a schedule is great. Even better is receiving a report once everything has been patched. We can see which patches are applied to which devices. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
