Occassionally, we'll come across a feature that Sprout is missing (for example, collecting reporting data on IG collaborations, etc.), but 99% of the time these features on Sprout's detailed roadmaps of what's to come! They are extremely open to feedback and constantly share our ideas with their developers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's easy to view and reply to comments, and see when we are mentioned (not just tagged!). I also love that for every post, Sprout suggests optimal posting times. As a daily Sprout user, the features are valuable in simplifying my processes where possible. Without Sprout, social media management would take much longer. It helps me keep track of everything, stay organized, and the reports feature is a great add-on. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Many of the shortcomings of Sprout Social are not easily solvable, as I realize it can be complicated for social apps to allow certain configurations (tagging on LinkedIn, adding an Instagram story, viewing DMs on Instagram, etc.). The apps that do allow integration are great, but it can be difficult to remember what must be done manually.
One of our biggest complaints is that the cost of Sprout continues to increase, and we don't feel like the quality of the product is increasing to match that price. Last year, when we tried to reach out about a sudden price increase, we struggled to get in touch with anyone in customer support soon enough to be able to make a truly educated decision on our plan. We pay a hefty price, and still many of the new features are not usable until we upgrade even more. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love that Sprout allows me and my team to participate in the social post review process seamlessly. I also love that I am able to depend on my content going live. I've never had a problem finding any tool that I need in the platform, and advanced reporting is AMAZING. Shanyah, my support contact is also top-notch. She is super responsive and always makes helpful suggestions, understanding that not every platform is for everyone. I am in Sprout every day and I can't recommend it enough! We also are often using the collaborator feature on Instagram, which bums me out that I can't use the Link in Bio feature on a post that was not posted by us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Scheduling Tools: Sprout Social’s calendar and scheduling tools make it easy to plan posts across multiple platforms in one streamlined view. It has many options that can save a lot of time.
Comprehensive Analytics: Sprout Social provides robust reporting tools that offer deep insights into engagement, audience demographics, and content performance. The visual data reports make it easy to interpret and share with team members or stakeholders. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Pricing: Sprout Social’s pricing can be high for small businesses or individual users, as the cost often rises with added users and features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As a 'department of one' in my organizaton, Sprout is a super valuable tool. I really like it's easy to use and flexible scheduling capabilities, which allows me to plan and automate our posts easily. The tagging feature is also extremely valuable to me, as it makes it super easy to filter posts to ensure I am sending out a balanced content and makes the reporting for the varies involved stakeholders super easy. The built-in Instagram grid planner is also standout feature for me, as I enjoy the ability to preview what our grid will look like. Finally, the reporting functionality is quite robust and flexible, making it easy to get the in-depth insights that drive our social media strategy forward. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
My biggest dislike is probably the mobile app. I find it to be a bit messy and it lacks some of the essential features of the desktop version, which can really put a stop to on-the-go social management (and isn't that the point of an app?) Like especially the fact that if you accidentally clear a notification saying it is time to post to Instagram, for example, then that is just gone and you cannot find the post in the app anymore. You have to go back to the desktop version to find the post and resend it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sprout Social offers me a one-stop solution for managing multiple social media accounts. I like being able to schedule posts and how easily Sprout lets me move scheduled posts around. I also like the smart dashboard that lets me monitor and respond to social media interactions and have found the AI image description tool to be fairly impressive. I wish Sprout Social were a little more worry-free. I have had multiple scheduled posts fail for inexplicable reasons and do not always get a message alerting me that the post failed. Sprout's ability to "listen" to social and news chatter is ok but I wish it was better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have been using Sprout for several years now.
- user-friendly interface (the best on the market)
- loads of good features
- I like the community they are building (however, this doesn't seem to include companies HQ outside of the US
- reporting features have everything I need but often tag report breaks for me Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I've used Sprout at a few different companies, and over the years their customer support has completely dropped. I have been passed around CSMs and it takes weeks to get a response (if any). I'm paying for the advanced plan and don't have a CSM and can only reach out via direct chat. This is painful when aspects of the reporting function don't work and I need help fixing them.
Having a dedicated customer success manager would be preferable, as it would ensure consistent and personalized support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's between the Smart Inbox and the easy-to-use analytics. I'm incredibly busy as a one-person social team that also manages lots of other digital content, and pulling analytics for my team with so much ease helps streamline my job while making it as easy as possible to communicate social's importance to other teams and stakeholders. Customer service is also incredibly important to my organization, and Sprout's Smart Inbox is so easy to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes the tagging features can be a bit confusing. There are certain times where I try to use filter features and I can't find what I'm looking for when I know for certain I spent time sorting comments I'd like to come back to, which is frustrating. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sprout has consistently been the best social management tool I've used at various organizations. I have used it since 2011. It is always improving and keeping up with the latest trends in social media without over-inflating the cost like many other services. Its integration of AI tools has been well thought out and actually adds value, unlike others that basically add AI as a sales gimmick. The staff at Sprout are helpful and very communicative. I don't really dislike anything specific to Sprout's features themselves. I do wish some of the premium analytics were part of the standard analytics as I cannot justify the cost of the premium version for a few analytics but that is basically it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sprout makes it easy to remain organized - though we have team members across the globe who contribute social post copy and images to our program.
The integration with Grammarly means that nothing goes out with incorrect grammar or spelling - incredibly useful on days when we're moving quickly from one post to another and also for our Social Team members who speak a different dialect of English. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sprout doesn't allow us to sync with our Reddit for social listening which is not ideal. That means I need to go into Reddit myself and manually search for terms to see what's being posted about our brand there. That's a big miss to me, as often if someone is going to complain anywhere, Reddit is the place they'll do it, since it's more anonymous.
I also wish that Social Listening features were automatically included in the base plans instead of the new functionality - where that's actually an additional feature and cost. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
