Which other POS company can you have actual human coming to your location to help you open with the hardware install (no do it yourself I'll explain once Zoom type like "breakfast" sounding company!), and every single person on the phone customer service to email, are all nice? We love our customer service, Stephanie and Brandon and Paul our installer have all been incredible. We went from an old school legacy system and it was a bit of a learning curve but we are starting to hit our stride. I really wish we could split end of day reports between day and night shifts. We are unable to do this and since our restaurant closes between shifts, we need timely reports for each shift so we can reconcile each shift properly. I wish some small things with Spoton reserve were more customizable and I wish they were cases for the handheld devices as we have had to exchange a few times and we've only had the system since July 2024. I joined Spot-On a little over two years ago and switched over two of my restaurants. I wanted a POS system that could offer great flexiblity with menu creation, great access to reporting, and a seamless experience without any bottlenecks or tech issues.
I got EXACTLY THAT! The reporting is so in-depth and helpful when making business decisions on what products are selling ad what ones aren't. The fact that you can see everything live too is amazing. You can see not only how many of an item is sold, but also who sold it, what time of day, what it was paired with, and any discounts/voids applied. It made running our restaurants much more efficient and was a huge time saver!!
The implementation process when we initially joined was very solid and thorough. When I asked if we could have certain items set up certain ways, the answer was always yes! It was so satisfying to see Spot-On visulaize exactly what I wanted in my head. We use Spot-on now for three of our businesses and utilize their Restaurant POS as well as online credit card processing for ticket sales in our concert venue. Super easy to integrate all of our data into their system!

I would say the only downside was some initial tech glitches and issues due to Spot-On being a newer company. Most of the issues have been worked out over time, but there are still a few that are frustrating at times. Lots of issues with the loyalty program, gift cards, and the cash-less discounting can cause reporting/payment issues at times. Customer service is usually pretty good at resolving these issues, but some issues don't have solutions yet it seems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The ease of use and accessibility from anywhere is fantastic! Being able to jump on a computer anywhere and update menu items or costs on the fly while not on property is a game changer!
My customer support from day one has always been top teir as well. From the day the system was installed by Brandon until now I've always been able to get in contact with someone even with the smallest questions. For a period of time we had occasional issues with the SpotOn POS. It wasn't a HUGE prblem but a problem is a problem. And that problem was that some transactions would sort of just stay in between the custumer and the POS system, to where from a costumer's side it showed as if he did indeed spend x amount of money, but it did not show on the POS.

Spoton is a poorly architected and designed system with faulty hardware. It's really multiple individual applicaitions stitched together with an attempted single sign on that causes the user to have to bounce from one application to another in order to accomplish everyday actions. As well, functions are split across these applications and the physical in-store terminals meaning you can't do everything you need from one, the other, or both. The effect is a maddening inefficiency that adds to your daily work and frustration. As well, the hardware is buggy and freezes mid-shift although it's new, right out of the box. Spoton support isn't really support. It's set up as an answering service of sorts that, when you call, takes messages and creates tickets for follow up later. No immediate action. These support tickets somehow then get routed to multiple teams so you end up following up several times with different POCs. All in all, it's as if they've built a system to inject inefficiency into your operations. Just say no to this system unless you want out of date designs, runaway feature dev on top of multiple software systems, and hardware that freezed on you in the middle of service. Originally it was you normal working out the kinds b.s. then trying to communicate with someone was almost immpossible. Now I have a go to laision with Kristin .it makes my life so much easier to have a direct email and number to communicate with the same person . I love the local support that we have. His name is Brandon. We utilize him often as my team is always wondering if and how we are able to modify items. I like that spoton is very versatile in ways to ring things in. I also like that it integrates with teamworks. Very helpful for payroll. Brandon, our support point person is phenomenal.
