What do you like best about Splashtop Remote Support?

I like how many features are available at the base plan. I like that I can support both stationary and mobile devices. It's a pro and a con, but I like that users have to re-download the support agent whenever they need assistance. It's reassuring to customers that the agent won't stay on their computers and that their device won't be accessible at all times. I also like that you can customize how the support agent appears to the end-user. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Splashtop Remote Support?

I dislike how large the Splashtop toolbar is. It can get in the way when you're offering remote support. I also don't love that users have to re-download the agent whenever they need assistance. Sometimes it'd be nice if they could install the program the way that Teamviewer installs, and then they'd just have to give me a code to get in. Having the program installed on their computer already would come in handy with my regulars. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Splashtop SOS allows me to help people globally instead of only helping people within driving distance. I can access their devices quickly and efficiently. What do you like best about Splashtop Remote Support?

We have Splashtop SOS deployed on student iPads in a high school environment. The ability to jump on and help a student with guided instruction through an issue is excellent. During the COVID closures it came in handy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Splashtop Remote Support?

The areas I feel the product needs improvement is the initial connection to tech. In our environment, we found that some students has difficulty understanding how to get connected. Once they were connected the technician could only view the screen and not take control if the student requested that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Consider what you want to do with support. Do you want to see the screen and perhaps use the phone to guide a user through a problem? This is your product. If you have remote control use Splashtop Business. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Splashtop Remote Support?

What I liked the best about the Splashtop SOS software is that real time screen sharing with my offshore clients were very easy and secure. The security part seemed to be the best since we will be able to get access to the clients system only when the SOS code is downloaded initially and shared wth us. Hence, the privacy and security of the clients system is retained. No malpractices can be done. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The part that I disliked was that while there was an unexpected network error, the screen sharing seemed to be very slow, and also, high lagging was yet another issue that I faced. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like the fact that my users don't have to be tied to one of our offices to receive support. Now more than ever, the ability to support telecommuters is paramount to establishing a work-from-home environment that is supported as fully as those who remain in the office. Great job Splashtop! The only thing I find lacking is the ability for me to take control of Apple cell phones and tablets. The limited view-only mode is sufficient, but sometimes remote control is necessary. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Consider the use of user groups to speed up implementation. Also, one might want to determine who needs direct connection (No password or prompt to allow) and who might need a little more discretion (Those whose computers might be viewing HR related or other sensitive data) ahead of time. What do you like best about Splashtop Remote Support?

This allows us to connect and help with our elderly seniors that live on our campus. We have over 66 acres so having to go around to each of the residents physically is not easy. What do you like best about Splashtop Remote Support?

This program is easy to install, with no configuration required, for a common non-IT or technical person that is imperative to allow remote access to a machine. You take the download, install and it pops up with the required code you give to the remote party to connect to your device. No firewall configuration, no need to change Domain settings, just remote access when required. Additionally, once you close the session, the software closes without the possibility of leaving a port open for unauthorized access. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Splashtop Remote Support?

You must be an admin or be in the Admin list to install. This is the only downside I encountered while using the software. If possible, running the user space rather than with windows would be a plus, and then use UAC to elevate the remote person as required. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I have used other remote access, and cost becomes prohibitive when working with a large number of nodes. With Splashtop SOS the unlimited license allows IT to access any number of nodes easily, simply by having a remote person share a nine-digit code, and connections are quick. Recently we had a tech needing to access a remote computer on a manufacturing floor, the IT group was not available to allow access, so Splashtop was imp[lemented. The Maintenance technician easily procured the nine-digit code and shared it for remote access and troubleshooting a problem on a machine. The Maintenance tech was not an IT person and this made the task at hand easier given that IT did not need to be involved in providing remote access into a machine. Splashtop SOS has worked well for me. It loads quickly, limited latency, and works with multiple screens. The pricing is significantly more cost-effective than its competitors Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Not a real critique, but the biggest issue seems to be when I tell clients the urs (sos.splashtop.com), and they have a hard time understanding it and think it is a bit strange. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
