I had grown my business from 1-5 employees using Clockify for timesheets, but found it lacked the financial analysis needed to grow my business further. Projectworks has allowed us to keep track of works in progress, assign different user permissions for handling financial reporting and invoicing. We've found the forecasting and resourcing tools are also very useful and it is easy to use. We have now been able to double the size of our team using Projectworks. You can bulk import your data as part of the onboarding process. But can't bulk import additional data later, so make sure you have your structure set up at outset.

I love that Projectworks has continually been updating the features available so that we can continue to upgrade our ways of working. We use it to manage all of our projects and record billable hours and the experience has been intuitive. If we do ever need assistance, the support team usually replies within 24 hours! So the best part of Projectworks is that it is very feasible for business management becasue it is specially designed plus easy to implement to help professional to better manage their organizations in the area financials or project management. We switched to projectworks because it had all the basic functions (timesheeting, invoicing) plus a bunch that we had been doing in spreadsheets (forward resourcing, cashflow forecasting).

The xero integration isn't quite as smooth as I'd like - synching invoices requires extra manual clicks, particularly if you need to edit an invoice.
I'd also like invoice templating to be more flexible - it's pretty good, but I've had to set up multiple invoice templates for each currency we invoice in - I can't populate the bank account number based on the invoice currency. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We migtrated to Projectworks from Workflow Max due to retirement of the product. We've found Projectworks is much more powerful and has a number more features and integrations available that we haven't previously had available to us. Professional services organisations all work in different ways, and we've found that assumptions made in the product for other organisations may not fit well with us. For example, how we consider utilisation (i.e. billable hours of available billable work) is not how it is considered within Projectworks, where it's considered as billed hours on projects, whether or not there were hours available. ProjectWorks is great when creating invoices as the invoice can be customised easily within the invoice screen, as well as various templates that can be used.

Custom fields are rather limited - there's no ability to add the custom fields to certain windows which makes it hard to track the status of the project.

The ability to set revenue budgets over multiple months and to Forecast revenue based on contracts (signed, commited and oppertunities). This has greatly improved our ability to plan and manage cashflow. It has also given our firm actual revenue targets that we can work towards.

Projectworks is run by a team in New Zealand, and we loved that they were a smaller Kiwi company like us. They really take on board feedback, ideas, suggestions and actually act on it. The regulalrly push out updates and changes and those changes actually add value to the end user rather than being a useless feature that does nothing but push the price up (what we experiend with larger products).
