“What I like best about PerformYard is its simplicity and flexibility. The only thing I don’t like is that the company logo is so small on the dashboard.

As the HR Director for Patriot Fire Protection, Inc., I can confidently say that PerformYard has been an outstanding tool for our organization.

We have been using the platform for several years, and it has completely streamlined our employee review and goal-tracking process. With a team of about 50 employees, the system makes it incredibly easy to manage quarterly reviews and maintain consistency across the company.

One of the features I appreciate most is how quickly reviews can be scheduled. It literally takes me about five minutes to schedule quarterly reviews for all 50 employees. The platform allows us to create customizable review forms that can be reused or adjusted as needed, which saves a tremendous amount of administrative time.

Another great feature is the scoring capability. The forms automatically calculate scores for each employee, and I can quickly generate reports showing review results across the entire company. This gives leadership clear visibility into employee performance and progress toward goals.

Overall, the process is smooth, efficient, and easy to manage. We truly love both the process and the software.

PerformYard is easy to use and the UI is clean, so it doesn’t take much training to get started. I especially like how clearly it shows performance goals that are set by my manager, along with progress and expectations in one place. The workflows feel structured (goals → check-ins/reviews → feedback), which helps keep performance conversations consistent and reduces back‑and‑forth in emails. It also makes it easier to stay organized during review cycles because everything is documented and easy to find later.

Notifications can also be a bit too frequent during busy review periods, and I’d like more flexibility to customize what I receive. Reporting/exports could be more user-friendly with more ready-made dashboards for managers and employees.

This management system creates an easy to use platform for our performance reviews. The questions are thoughtful and really encourages all employees to think about how they would like to continue improving performances.

It would be nice to have different questions populate throughout the performance time period, if one question was asked on the first review, maybe changing some questioning for the second biannual review will be helpful to continue the conversation on performance changes.

It allows our employees access a quick and easy to use platform. Initially when conducting biannual reviews, asking the questions in person could create an awkward environment. Doing this online allows the employee the space to answer honestly, with thoughtful responses and creates a neutral environment for management to address complications.

Our organization recently switched to PerformYard for self-evaluations and direct-report performance reviews, and the transition has been seamless. The platform is easy to use—intuitive and efficient. As a first-time user, I’ve especially appreciated how straightforward everything feels, and I can’t say enough about how much I’m enjoying the side-by-side view feature. It makes it incredibly easy to reference my supervisees’ reviews while completing my own and when meeting with them, which helps the review sessions feel more organic and less time-consuming. 

I’m looking forward to learning more as we continue to dive deeper into using PerformYard as a resource to improve our workflow. I am already wowed by the option to use the AI-powered REPHRASE button, which helps make my writing clearer and more succinct. Even without the straightforward training we received from PerformYard, I would have felt confident using this very intuitive platform. 

I am overjoyed to have completed evaluations without the glitches of the previous system. I had no issues and did not relive the nightmare of work not being saved, having to copy/paste into documents to ensure I could pick up where I left off, and not being able to advance from one screen to the next with no explanation. This has already been, and I suspect will continue to be, a game-changer for our organization.

Thanks for making a not-so-fun part of my work life feel less like drudgery!!

I am a first-time user, so I don't have much feedback here, but one thing I noticed is that my direct report can't view the review unless ALL signers have done so. It would be helpful for them to be able to access it as long as I, as the author, have signed it.

**What problems is PerformYard Performance Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Previously, reviews were VERY time-consuming. It would take me two - three hours to complete one. The cumbersome nature of the platform combined with the many glitches---not being able to advance to the next section, written work not being saved, and having no clue what was wrong was extremely frustrating. I experienced none of that with this platform.

PerformYard has really changed the way we talk about goals and career progression with our team members. This program allows us to keep all information in 1 place, design graphs and create metrics. We can also share goals with leadership and give "shoutouts" and feedback to team members who deserve recognition. Jaina, our rep, has been very helpful to help us set up this program and also to help execute in a way that works for our company.

Formatting could be improved (bullet points, bold, etc).
Would like to be able to combine graphs and data into 1 central location. Right now they are broken out into questions and we export into Excel and create graphics ourselves if using data from more than 1 question.

This keeps all of our information in a central location. Before we were tracking through PDFs which could get lost and we were not really to easily see progression this way.

Only thing I dislike is it didn't highlight error when I was changing goal percentage. I noticed after the fact that it didn't total automatically.

It was easy to use. I prefer this option to measure my performance numerically. They did provide three areas for us to measure ourselves, and I really appreciate that.

My manager provided feedback in the form of a question, and I was not able to respond. the only option was to give feedback to others or ignore his feedback totally. So I created new feedback for him just to respond to his question in regard to my feedback. I hope that made sense.

I really appreciate how it takes those old, paper-pushing methodologies and brings them into a more modern format. On top of that, it’s very user-friendly—straightforward, intuitive, and easy to use.

The BEST part of PerformYard (besides solving a solution for us) is the ongoing relationship with our Customer Success Manager. Not only did she help us with initial setup, but she also rolled out this service to our staff by offering a formal training. Additionally, she continues to be available for when we have a question and for brief meetings throughout the year to cover new features and review our forms. This is very different from their competitors. When we were researching solutions, we were told multiple times that they would assist only with setup and that we would have to do our own training and use a generic customer support email for help.

There are some limitations with formatting, such as font type and size, but nothing substantial overall.

**What do you like best about PerformYard Performance Management?**

I like that I have the ability to start a review, save my progress and come back to it at a later time to finish.  My schedule gets busy and having the flexibility to pause when needed and come back and pick up where I left off helps a lot.

**What do you dislike about PerformYard Performance Management?**

If you are responsible for reviewing reviews for employees, as well as your own... When viewing the dashboard that displays your personal review as well as other employees it is a little unclear what the next steps or requirements are to complete the reviews.

**What problems is PerformYard Performance Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy access to self performance review and employee performance review.
