Paddle acts as Merchant of Record, so we do not have to spend time in managing sales tax applicable in multiple countries. A valuable solution for any SaaS platform that serves globally. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
- While invoice creation, sales tax administration is solved well, we end up wasting a lot of time on payment collections.
- They do not send invoice reminders, it is a paid feature with some subscription of third party tool. We have do manual follow-ups, what a waste of time!
- The end customer receives invoices from Paddle branding, so customers do not recognize they are our invoices and they get ignored. We have to reach out to them and inform. If the email invoices get white-labelled, it would be a huge time saver (and trust builder).
- Paddle support can be improved. It takes many hours for them to respond. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Paddle's support team is amazing! They responded quickly and made the verification process smooth and hassle free. Super friendly and helpful great experience overall Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don’t have any major dislikes, but the web portal could be improved to function more like an SPA. avoiding full-page reloads and maintaining scroll position for a smoother experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Paddle is just a bundle of perfectness. It's Developer Experience is up to par with Stripe, the fees are low compared to other MoR offerings, and there have never been any issues for me in terms of ease of use. Their support is also great, I have personally received assistance with a technical issue I had while testing and integrating the client-side helper. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The price is good when compared to other MoR offerings, but in total, I dislike that there is this high 50c fee on every transaction, no matter how large. If you personally get in touch with them, you can reduce your rate to a plain 10% for purchases under 10$, but I think that should be included from the get-go. I never implemented payment system before. Paddle was easy to setup and they have detailed resources for developers. I also received fast support from them regarding my account problem. Lastly, they have a reasonable charge for their product compared to competitors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is no straightforward way to transfer setup from sandbox account to production account. More flexible payout options would be better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Their API, interface is good, they have a lower overall commission than alternatives. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Onboarding process.
They had a round of mass-closing SaaS. Some had customers, subscriptions, no chargebacks, went through their extensive verifications but were blocked regardless. The AUP was updated later and it seems like they cannot share reasons with everyone due to PCI. However they unblocked my account after a third email, so I'm updating this review. They are really easy to use and does exactly what's advertised with no frills. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's a bit limited in it's reporting capabilities, but support team is super helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We went with Paddle mainly because of how they handle sales tax. They take care of tax stuff when charging, which really puts our minds at ease. Plus, they make dealing with taxes across different places so much easier, which is a huge relief. Their pricing is transparent, no hidden fees, which makes budgeting a lot less stressful. Setting up was a piece of cake, and their customer support on Slack is awesome. Overall, Paddle has been a fantastic partner in helping our business grow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The interface isn't as fancy as other competitors but it gets the job done. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We operate a SaaS business with subscription customers and switched from Stripe to Paddle in December 2022. The best part about Paddle is that they act as a Merchant of Record, so we're not spending time administering sales tax collection and payment to various countries and states, each with their own tax regulations.
The second best part about Paddle is that the pricing is more clear and transparent than other providers. For example, we pay a simple per transaction and % fee on Paddle, and it covers everything. On Stripe and others, you get these extra fees if you want to use their billing/subscription logic, and another fee for sales tax, and another fee for non-domestic charges. We're Canadian and so we were getting hit with extra fees when charging US customers, and even worse, some of our US customers were getting charged extra fees by their bank because we weren't based in the US. None of that is an issue with Paddle - they are based in the US and UK, and so it's been a great experience for everyone.
The web hook integration has worked very well for us. The sandbox environment made it easy to test and validate our integration before rolling out to production.
Customer support has also been good with Paddle... good technical support and ongoing tier 1 customer support. They seem flexible to follow our lead when we occasionally issue refunds. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
When we did our implementation, it took some time to understand and implement the Paddle API, and work with the Paddle billing logic. There are some minor missing API features, like the inability to update a user's email address for an existing subscription, but these are just minor issues. I understand they're rolling out a new API so maybe this has been solved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I've been managing the payments for my digital download business with Paddle. It's already been more than 6 months and I am quite happy with the ease of use, simplicity and authencity of the payments. Paddle has provided the complete payment solution including the subscription, billing, taxes and payments and the best part, it is supports the bank transfer and Payoneer as a payout method. Not all the payment providers are supported here in Nepal, but Paddle has provided us an elegant way to manage our digital downloads business. Paddle has been one of the most reliable payment service provider, I have used so far. I have setup it once and everything is being handled properly by Paddle. The customer support was super helpful during the initial setup and I managed to move our Payment provider just within a few days. I together with my team can't be more happy than this. We haven't faced any issues so far with Paddle. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I've been using Paddle for about 5 years. The old version was a bit clunky & the dashboard was broken for a long time, without any fixes or updates for years. The new Paddle Billing API is much nicer. There is very little included out of the box but the API is comprehensive, so you can achieve most things yourself. They're doing one single thing (handling payments) if that's all you need they may be a good fit. Simple payouts, no third-party.
The new dashboard and UI is a huge improvement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The support is completely unresponsive, with simple questions taking up to 5 days to get an answer. When contacting you are shown a message saying "Our Customer Support team is currently experiencing a high volume of inquiries.." but don't be fooled: that message has been there for the entire 5 or so years I've used them.
They have an AI assistant but it frequently gives incorrect information, e.g. it told me there was no way to do refunds on Paddle Billing, which would obviously be insane. Again, 3 days to get a confirmation that wasn't the case.
Paddle Billing overlay checkouts appear broken on IOS Safari. Tested on multiple sites & using their own developer docs code. I reported this 7 days ago & am still waiting for an initial acknowlegement. It doesn't fill me with confidence to run my business on this platform.
Update: It's now been 19 days & the checkout is still broken. 1 week ago I got a confirmation that the bug exists, but nothing since. When I posted this review I got a reply within hours. That tells you everything you need to know about Paddle's priorities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Easy to set up - the system was relatively easy to set up.
Customer support is quite responsive - besides requiring up to 2 days to respond, it fulfills my requests. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The Payout process is horrible. It is done automatically every month, without any option for a manual payout, which is often crucial for quickly growing SaaS companies, thus limiting the budget to a monthly basis. At the same time, I would need a week-to-week basis due to active marketing and high competition.
In addition, the payout is not paid immediately but, in contrast, is in an "in-progress" state for up to 15(!) days. Cash-inflow is therefore delayed by up to half of the period itself.
I find it to be an unreasonable and super-significant disadvantage compared to the alternatives. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
