What is really great about the platform is that you can manage the whole workflow of a campaign, from teh brief to the results analyzis. It gathers in a single place all you need to know about a campaign, what are the deadlines, who is in charge of what, where we stand,if there is any issue. You can create a brief template to help the business provide you clear expectations, timeline, budget, existing assets, etc. to avoid any bad onboarding. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
For non digital mindset people, it can be a bit hard to dig in Optimizely and understand what they have to do (where to submit a brief, where to review an asset, etc.). Also if sevarel assets are to be approved on the same day, the approver receives one email per asset which can be a lot. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We've been using the Optimizely Content Marketing Platform for over 2 years, and it’s been a game changer for how we manage content, projects and workflows across our team. The ability to plan, collaborate, and execute campaigns all in one place has seriously improved our efficiency and visibility.
The calendar and workflow features keep our projects on track, and the content briefs and approval process help ensure quality and consistency. It's also great for aligning internal and external teams—everyone knows what’s happening and when.
The interface is intuitive, and the platform is flexible enough to fit our needs as they evolve. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
A few features could use deeper customization, but overall, the value it brings in streamlining content operations far outweighs any minor hiccups. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like that the ability to customize workflows and organize by Campaign, Tasks, etc. The hand off between stakeholders is more clear than in other tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It can very difficult to find tickets if you didn't create the request. Comments are shown by version of documents so sometimes commentary can get lost depending on which version you're looking at. In the proofing and editing process it can be difficult to align because of this. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Optimizely grows as the needs of my company shift - the support of the reps and team as a whole has been incredible. I ask for something and they get it done. There's a 1,000 ways to use the CMP and every option is flexible. Learning the platform has been easy, teaching others how to use...also easy! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
hard to say what i dislike. When i have a wish list of functions, they work to make it happen. The "library" could be designed more like a DAM (of course they are already working on that component!). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I am a big fan of Optimizely Content Marketing Platform is the ease in which content workflow was managed. Thanks to this, it is easier to assign tasks, track progress and make sure all of this moves as smoothly from idea to publication. With the editorial calendar in place, our team does not miss deadlines and stay on schedule. Plus, we use it along with our CRM to ensure everything from the content we send to our CRM is matched to our overall strategy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One of the drawbacks to Optimizely Content Marketing Platform is not optimal content modification in active campaigns due to approval process. Although it is beneficial to have certain set structures and routines to implement practice change it is not always effective when there is need to make sudden changes. It has occasionally been an inconvenience when it comes to launching or modifying time sensitive content. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Being able to structure and streamline processes an,d having all in one place (raw materials, briefs, dialouge, assets...). And when set up, it is easy o use and understand. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It was very challenging to set up. That was not communicated to us, and the onboarding process (especially the start) was very confusing. We nearly gave up. There are also a few things in the tool that should be better e.g. using Office tools in desktop version and delegating a step to several people. We would like to have a closer dialouge with product development. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The platform simplifies content planning and collaboration, making it easier to manage workflows, assign tasks, and track progress. Its integration with other Optimizely tools enhances content distribution and optimization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The interface has a learning curve, and some features require customization to fit specific workflows. Additionally, pricing can be a barrier for smaller teams. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
- Very comprehensive and powerful tool
- Massive development of the platform over the years, reflecting voice of the customers
- We appreciate the direct contact with Optimizely and opportunity to shape the product with our feedback - we are listened to (good example are Task Templates)
- Ability to seamlessly connect with the whole Optimizely One marketing OS is very also very appealing, even though we use only CMP and don´t plan to change other platforms
- Once you get through the training, it´s easy to use and very powerful, providing also great insights for the company
- One of the main game changers for our adoption have been the Workflows, powering up the collaboration on the common communications activities (social posts, webpages...) - our campaign managers use CMP on daily basis Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
- Given it´s complexity, it take quite some time and effort to onboard new colleagues and seeing a reasonable adoption of the tool
- I find it quite expensive if a company needs a lot of licenses, even though we have a discounted price (given the history and amount of users). Majority of our users need the Creator role to be able to collaborate efficiently. Would perhaps distinguish how much the users use the platform (e.g. power users, regular users, light users)
- Clicking through the campaigns, tasks and views comes with a loading time which is a bit annoying (in particular to load a view in Plan module with the Hierarchy ON every time you change filters) - so one needs to rather open links in a new tab than clicking back and forth and waiting until it loads. The platform is extremely intuitive to use and therefore useful to implement in mixed teams of various backgrounds. I use the content calendar daily which gives me a comprehensive view of what I'm working on and what is coming up. The integration with our local website through a json file was simple - if possible I'd publish all our content through Optimizely. This is a huge feature for users who aren't very digitally savvy - copying content from Word gives an immaculate HTML code. The workflows and templates expedite work on content - we align tasks in a team working on two continents with Optimizely. The support team is usually quick to respond and resolve issues. Minor changes that are implemented in the CMP sometimes effect the way we work, becausewe are using some functions slightly differently than expected. But we've always been able to circumvent that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Hi there, we use Optimizely at work and were invited to the roadshow in Amsterdam. Unfortunately, there was no choice to review the road show so I chose the content marketing platform since the roadshow was based around that.
The platform looks like its robust and capable of handling multiple tasks which is what you would expect from Optimizely. I especially like the content management aspect of the platform and how easy it seems to be to get all of the teams members across multiple projects visibility. I think like most companies the promise of AI vs the reality is something to be desired. Often Optimizely is pushing AI as some messiah for personalization but it fails to ask about the question for someone like me who thinks AI-generated content is usually bad, poorly made and at best ethically questionable as it takes jobs away from real human beings and has been trained on actual work that the employee doesn't see the benefit from.
For me this is a huge turn off for a brand and while I get for investors pushing the AI hype makes sense (who doesn't want an easy buck?) pushing lazy computer generated content to users may ultimately hurt the brand more than it helps until AI is actually intelligent and not just regurgitating the status quo milquetoast content.
