**What do you like best about Motive?**

The best thing about Motive is how EVERYTHING is concisely contained in one, easy-to-use, website!
ELDs, cameras, driver metrics!

**What do you dislike about Motive?**

My only complaint about Motive is that I have had to adjust some of the parameters for things like HARD BRAKING and HARD CORNERING events. I originally received too many Alerts, and most were not dangerous situations at all. But even the parameters were simple to adjust.

**What problems is Motive solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Motive solves several problems for me!! The GPS lets me know where my drivers are located, the dash cams are priceless when an accident occurs, the driver safety scores help me to manage my drivers, the Hours of Service feature with ELDs helps me to know exactly who I have available and for how many hours.  AND, when any of these modules notice an issue with  any driver, I get an alert immediately!!

**What do you like best about Motive?**

I like that Motive pinpoints certain aspects and allows me to download or export a form to present to our employees when there is a violation, having them sign so it's documented that they understand the violation. I also appreciate being able to share the video with the employee and target pinpointed behaviors that do not comply with our company's safety culture.

**What do you dislike about Motive?**

The speed of receiving a requested video is probably the biggest frustration that I have. I can request a video between five minutes to an hour, and I get those very speedily. However, any videos that I request from one to three minutes can take five minutes to thirty minutes to an hour at times, which is very, very frustrating.

**What problems is Motive solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Motive helps us address bad driving behaviors like stop sign violations, seat belt violations, and distracted driving, ensuring we are safe and courteous drivers.

**What do you like best about Motive?**

I use Motive for tracking delivery drivers and managing maintenance tasks and schedules. I appreciate Motive's ability to help automate maintenance records and assist with notifying sales personnel and customers of delivery statuses. I like that it offers a broad spectrum of features and that the development team is actively improving features based on user feedback. The maintenance schedule feature has been particularly helpful in moving my tasks from reactive to proactively scheduled processes. The initial setup of Motive was very simple.

**What do you dislike about Motive?**

Some of the mapping features seem to still be under construction, such as importing geofences, which will load the addresses but then doesn't create editable identities. Hopefully this will change in the future.

**What problems is Motive solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**What do you like best about Motive?**

Motive is a great program for tracking our drivers' safety performance. I like that it tracks the fleet live, allowing me to see where every vehicle is located. It's also great at tracking down drivers and recording live feeds, which helps with passenger complaints. The program works well in recording driver speed and informs me of any unsafe events happening in real-time. Additionally, it helps us determine how well the drivers are performing their duties or responsibilities in the field. The initial setup is very easy to understand, making it accessible for us.

**What do you dislike about Motive?**

Motive does not always calculate hard braking events correctly, and it does not identify bike racks.

**What do you like best about Motive?**

I like that the camera helps identify drivers who run stop signs. I also think the voice alerts are a great tool for coaching in real time.

**What do you dislike about Motive?**

I think Motive could have easier ELD navigation. For example, I can only mass edit a week's worth of logs instead of a month. It would be helpful if the odometer would record at every stopping event. The initial setup was not too easy, and there are a lot of false speed limit readings.

Motive helps with ELD compliance and safety; the camera identifies drivers running stop signs, and the voice alerts assist in real-time coaching.

**What do you like best about Motive?**

I use Motive to review driver logs and calculate driving time for payroll. It lets me know where the driver is at a certain period, how long they've been driving, and whether they work that day or not. It really helps me with work. I enjoy monitoring driver hours and watching the cameras. The most valuable feature to me is the Activity detail report, which helps me determine the driver hours. So far, everything is working fine for me.

**What do you dislike about Motive?**

I have nothing against the whole system.

I use Motive to review driver logs, track driving hours, and confirm driver presence, which makes payroll calculations much easier.

**What do you like best about Motive?**

I really appreciate the simplicity of Motive, making it easy for drivers to use due to its user-friendliness. For dispatch purposes, being able to efficiently see where drivers are and where they have been is quite straightforward. Also, accessing their logs is simple. The software setup is fairly simple and efficient and I believe the hardware is easy to install for the techs.

**What do you dislike about Motive?**

There are additional steps to access information that probably aren't necessary. Motive hasn't updated with some of the other providers in cleaning up the dashboard. Speed and accuracy of the service aren't top of the line anymore, and there are some user-friendly aspects that aren't top-notch.

**What problems is Motive solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Motive for tracking trucks and monitoring log books. It solves time management and location tracking issues. I like its simplicity and user-friendliness, making dispatch tasks like accessing driver locations and logs simple and efficient.

**What do you like best about Motive?**

Motive offers a good electronic log and reporting system.

**What do you dislike about Motive?**

They did something to change the add service notes in maintenance that keeps me from retrieving service notes that I just entered. When I enter a service note I have to hurry and attach the documents/invoices asap or the service note will disappear.  I can't enter a service note for a trailer until I specifically tap on the all assets tab.  I finally figured ways around these changes, but why were they implemented anyway?  Why change something that works???

We are able to visually track each truck easier.  This helps us with time sensitive issues and communication.

I like the ease of use of the driver app, making it straightforward to teach employees. The app records accurate information and provides a range of reports that are very handy, like idling reports, oil change tracking, and fault codes. The initial setup was also very easy.

**What do you dislike about Motive?**

I wish there was a way to stop drivers from continuing on if they have an HOS violation. If the app could point out more effectively to the driver that they may have forgotten to log out (like if they were on duty for 24 hours straight) or not allow them to proceed to the pre-trip inspection until they fix their logs.

**What problems is Motive solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Motive solves the legal requirement of ELDs, tracks maintenance, driver performance, and vehicles, and handles HOS violations. The driver app is easy to use and provides accurate, useful reports like idling and oil changes.

**What do you like best about Motive?**

What I like most about Motive is how everything is centralized in one easy-to-use platform. From tracking vehicles to monitoring driver behavior and managing compliance, it saves us a lot of time and reduces the back-and-forth between systems.

**What do you dislike about Motive?**

One thing I dislike about Motive is that some features can feel a bit overwhelming at first, especially for new users. There’s a learning curve when setting everything up and customizing reports. Also, occasional delays in syncing data can be frustrating when you need real-time information. That said, once everything is running smoothly, it works well overall.

Motive solves the problem of tracking all the trucks we have, in addition to that, it allows us to have 24/7 control of the drivers' position, making the tracking work easier to be able to offer appropriate updates to our clients.

**What do you like best about Motive?**

I really appreciate how Motive makes it easier to counsel drivers on driving behaviors and gets results in affecting that behavior. It's helpful to receive direct emails on events regarding distraction, speed violations, and compliance issues. I also value Motive's real-time events feature, which helps reduce accident behaviors. The transition to using Motive was fairly instantaneous, thanks to the effective communication and driver education, particularly the ELD training using Motive materials. Additionally, I find Motive ELD to be one of the easiest systems to use, and the camera event tracking is invaluable.

**What do you dislike about Motive?**

It would be helpful to be able to upload camera videos when dismissing an event, especially regarding speed events.

**What problems is Motive solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Motive provides real-time event tracking, helping to reduce accident behaviors. It simplifies counseling drivers on behaviors using direct emails on distraction, speed violations, and compliance, making it easier to get results.

**What do you like best about Motive?**

I like Motive for its ease of use, especially appreciating the ability to audit logs, check for unidentified or disconnected instances, and monitor personal conveyance and yard moves. The initial setup was easy because Motive support helped load most of our information from spreadsheets and set up some alerts.

**What do you dislike about Motive?**

I don't like that support contacts me regarding a case only when they can't get me on the phone, and then they just send an email with the resolution. I also think it would be better if there was an option to eliminate the AI assistant or at least have the option to override it to speak directly to a support agent.

**What do you like best about Motive?**

I'm a new user and my favorite feature so far is the app that my drivers can download and have access to all safety information and review events.

**What do you dislike about Motive?**

I like that the cameras announce triggers or make suggestions to the drivers but sometimes the system sees something that is not true and it will make an announcement that is incorrect and can concern our passengers.

**What problems is Motive solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Motive allows me to catch unsafe behaviors before they become an accident.  By reviewing the events with the drivers and showing them the footage they can see their areas of improvement before something serious happens.

Love the AI feature that just came out recently that gives drivers a recap of what they're doing well at and what needs improvement.

**What do you dislike about Motive?**

The AI feature can easily be incorrect. In our area we have a lot of service/feeder roads that have stop signs on them, and when drivers pass by them (not needing to stop, because they're separated by a median) Motive always gets them for violations and then tickets need to be submitted to have them dismissed off of our drivers. This could be improved on.

Driver safety. Drivers are safer which results in fewer events.

**What do you like best about Motive?**

Motive is great all around, you're able to track a vehicles current and previous locations as well as speed, safety warnings (Lights on dash if any) and you can even message the driver right through the app!

**What do you dislike about Motive?**

Currently there are no reasons to dislike Motive. We had one issue with reports, but created a case with the motive team, and they have been working hard to resolve our issue. The team is great and super helpful!

**What problems is Motive solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps to clear any confusion office staff may have on where a driver has completed a drop / pick up, and keeps us updated 24/7 .

  ### 16. Top Tier Platform for ALL your Fleet Needs

**What do you like best about Motive?**

The layout is easy to use and navigate.  The dash cams provide clear footage and our a quality piece of equipment.  The alerts/reports allow us to narrow down waste.  The cards feature is a HUGE benefit allowing us to eliminate and track purchases with ease to ensure employees are not using company funds for personal effects.

**What do you dislike about Motive?**

Fully customizable reports would be a benefit.  Being able to to track overnight instead of a 24hr day period would speed up some processes.  For ex. 8pm to 8am on one page.

**What problems is Motive solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tracking our fleet and allowing us to see what drivers are doing during long stops.

**What do you like best about Motive?**

I like using both the Motive app and the website because I'm frequently out in the field and not in front of a computer. Having the ability to view the same information in a very similar format on both desktop and mobile devices is great. I find viewing events and editing them in real time very efficient. The initial setup of Motive was very easy.

**What do you dislike about Motive?**

I think the AI system is terribly far off and does not 'learn' very quickly at all. I am frequently getting 'events' registered to my team that upon review are very obviously not violations, such as stop sign events where it says they are moving at a consistent speed, when they are very clearly stopped.

**What problems is Motive solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Motive helps us track vehicle safety and see where our techs are in the field, ensuring they're following road rules.

I use Motive for fleet tracking and driver safety by utilizing their AI cameras and software. The biggest help it gives us is preventing accidents proactively by catching dangerous driver behaviors and using data for vehicle maintenance. The ease of use stands out; it's really easy to interact with, find where our drivers are, and it significantly enhances our coaching process. The app is particularly well-designed and user-friendly, making the experience very smooth.

The install process can definitely be frustrating. Specifically the install verify process. Motive could test their install process internally with multiple devices to ensure it is smoother for their customer. The only complaint is ship time of new hardware.

**What do you like best about Motive?**

Personally, the most pleasant thing about Motive is the ease with which I am allowed to monitor the actions of our drivers, particularly considering the fact that I use it frequently throughout the week. It was actually not that difficult to get set up and once tied into Slack and our payroll system things became a bit easier on the team. It has much functionality in monitoring what we require, and that consistency is very beneficial in maintaining the steady operations.

**What do you dislike about Motive?**

The primary problem that I have encountered with Motive is that certain reports are not as fast as I would like them to be, particularly when I have to look at a report several times per day. Due to it, some of the tasks are protracted and slow down decisions. Although the integration with our payroll system is operational, I occasionally have to recheck the information to make sure that it was successfully integrated.

**What problems is Motive solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Motive makes the sloppy system we had to use to track drivers and vehicles into a clean system, and I use it extensively now. It is simple to use and allows anyone to get in without needing to be confused, and its integration with Slack ensures a constant flow of updates. Features are so numerous that it is easy to see everything under one roof hence planning and routing is more predictable. It has made our entire work process less stressed and much less hectic.

**What do you like best about Motive?**

I like that Motive is reliable and can be trusted. The app as well as the web browser is very user-friendly and well managed. We were using Keystone to track our trucks, but Motive is much better because we can track every truck in our fleet whereas with Keystone you could not. As stated before, the application is pretty user-friendly.

**What do you dislike about Motive?**

Sometimes the gateways lose connection which can cause us to not be able to track the truck. This doesn't happen super often, and usually, we can fix it by resetting or unplugging and plugging back in.

**What problems is Motive solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Motive solves the problem of not knowing where our drivers are and helps with directions in real-time. It eliminates the issue of not knowing what happens in the truck cab by providing insights during accidents or errors.

The thing I like most about Motive is the clarity of the cameras. I do enjoy the fuel cards and how well they work with the Motive App.

I think that as a supervisor, the Motive fleet problem that I see a lot is it's inaccurate. Sometimes it will send alerts that are not necessarily true. Another problem is it will tell us a guy got home at a certain time when in all actuality, the person actually got home an hour later. This has caused problems for disciplinary actions. We can no longer use Motive to accurately discipline guys for clocking out at a different time than what Motive said because Motive has proven to be inaccurate.

Motive solves logistical problems by enabling me to see what crews I have and where they're currently at.

I like the fuel consumption data that Motive provides. It gives me details about what kind of fuel consumption we're using, whether the truck is idling all the time or burning gas by driving, which helps me decide if we need to shut down vehicles when they're idling unnecessarily. Maintenance-wise, I like that it keeps track of when we need oil changes and keeps a record of that, so we can just keep track of it.

I'm not sure if it's the way our administration has it set, but it seems like it's a little sensitive on picking up things like hard braking and hard accelerating. It seems to go off on things that it really shouldn't every now and then.

I think Motive is less invasive for drivers and sticks harder on the windshield, which is smarter than other cams. I really like that it's easy to use and configure. The driver score feature is valuable to us because we have a driver score board, so using Motive's info on it makes sense. I find the initial setup of Motive to be super easy. We also have an integration with our second GPS platform, and bringing the diesel tank percentage value to the GPS platform is very useful.

We use it in Mexico and the diesel costs are not adequately set for Mexico. Probably having a manual cost assignment option that the platform can use would help.

I think the only complaint I have is on the accuracy of the GPS tracking, sometimes it gets wonky and isn't exactly working well. It may work fine on another workstation but then on another, it isn't showing the same.

I like that Motive allows us to see and track drivers without needing to call or email them. I find it convenient that we can see all the drivers on one map, which helps us to know who is where, when they were at other locations, and for how long. The initial setup of Motive was very easy, even though it took some time.

We have problems with the distance summary feature. It quite often has a disconnect between the history and the logs themselves.

I recommend asking questions! Keep Truckin is fantastic with answering any questions and concerns I have and always try to come up with a solution.

I like the ease of the system with Motive, especially the self-install feature. The AI Dash Camera is very useful as it alerts me to behaviors that we would normally miss. The GPS monitoring is also a standout, as it provides accurate location tracking, which is crucial for our fleet management.

The connection between vehicles isn't great; I feel the drivers can easily unplug it to be undetected.

I really enjoy navigating between vehicle fleets and reviewing alerts with easy access to identify risk events. Additionally, the fact that Motive unifies the functionalities of various tracking and camera visualization platforms into a single account significantly facilitates tracking. The initial setup was excellent, as it took no more than 5 minutes.

**What do you like best about Motive?**

I use Motive to track my drivers, and I like how precise it is. The accurate location feature is great for estimating pick-up ETAs and dispatching drivers efficiently. I also really appreciate the ETA feature included in the system, which saves the ETA provided by the driver and allows me to add destinations to get an accurate ETA. Plus, the initial setup of Motive was too easy.

**What do you dislike about Motive?**

The system doesn't add only truck roads and doesn't show bridges and tolls. Tolls are the most important thing.

I use Motive for tracking drivers and seeing accurate location for pickup ETAs. It helps me know ETA before booking a load. I like how precise it is and its ETA feature, saving the driver's ETA and adding destinations.

We have not had a positive experience with Motive. The platform has been problematic, and when we requested support regarding contract and operational concerns, accountability was redirected to drivers rather than solutions being provided. We do not currently recommend the service.

We have experienced ongoing technical and service-related challenges with Motive. When operational concerns and contract language questions were raised, the response did not feel solution-oriented. Instead of collaborative troubleshooting, responsibility was often redirected toward drivers, which has impacted trust and overall effectiveness.

**What problems is Motive solving and how is that benefiting you?**

At this time, we are not seeing measurable operational benefits from Motive. While the system is intended to support ELD compliance, safety monitoring, and fleet visibility, ongoing technical and support challenges have limited its effectiveness in solving operational issues for our company.

It’s a streamlined, easy process for tracking my driving hours. It helps me see what hours I still have available for the rest of the day and the week, and it also keeps me in check with safety measures like scoring my driving and using a camera for management.

**What do you dislike about Motive?**

We have one branded vehicle that refuses to automatically transition to driving mode, so I have to manually switch it every time I stop. We’ve tried multiple devices, and it may be something specific to that vehicle, but it’s still an extra step given the GPS clearly knows I’m moving. Aside from that issue, we’ve tried other options and Motive is the best we’ve used so far.

**What problems is Motive solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We’ve tried other devices in our branded vehicles, and they tend to glitch and slow us down when we’re getting set up in the morning. We also run into issues when we need to swap drivers and reconnect throughout the day. With this one, the process is much easier for drivers. They can connect quickly, and it helps streamline their safety checks and hours. It lets them know when they do something wrong and gives a friendly reminder to take extra precautions so they can keep their score up. Overall, it helps them stay organized and drive safely, and it keeps them at the top of the field.

I like that Motive is a data-forward company and the UI is pretty self-explanatory, providing a good display for easy data ingestion. The Snowflake instance for sharing data is reliable and clean. I also appreciate the many inherent reports that Motive's UI offers, which are great for quick validation or data exploration. The wide variety of reports is something I really like.

Finding reports is a pain. Most of the reports are similar with specific nuisances, and I get to the wrong report most of the time when I am in need.

I use Motive as a fleet management system for our shuttles. I really value the real-time safety issue tracking, allowing me to address safety concerns and request footage when needed. I like the AI safety events because they help in addressing safety concerns and make our fleet as safe as possible. The initial setup of Motive was fairly easy and straightforward.

Sometimes the events the AI detects are wrong, and sometimes the requested footage takes forever to come back. We get lots of cell phone violations for drivers using the in-shuttle radio or smoking violations for employees holding pens in their hands.

I like that with Motive, we can keep track of everyone while they are on jobs and see in real time the traffic or how close they are when speaking to the clients. It's also great that we can track our trucks and it keeps us up to date on maintenance that needs to be done. Plus, it's been very user-friendly in my opinion. We've been using it for four years and it's worked very well for us.

I really appreciate the tracking and ETA features built into Motive. These features allow me to see exactly where our drivers are, and it gives me the estimated time of arrival for their next stop. This saves me time from having to calculate it myself, making the process more efficient. The initial setup of Motive was pretty smooth as well.

Sometimes I have to refresh my screen a couple of times to get the truck to show up on the screen correctly. Sometimes it will show me the truck I was looking at before. I have to refresh before use every time, sometimes more than once, when I look at a truck.

I like that Motive is quick to find equipment and is easy for both drivers and users to navigate.

**What do you dislike about Motive?**

I don't like the driver disconnects and low storage space for camera footage with no cloud storage. Updates aren't explained and system settings change without us knowing. There are kilometer variances between trucks and trailers, more than 15% out of sync. Customer support can't answer questions and just keeps escalating the problem without solutions. The boxes fail a lot and need constant replacement. Trailer tracking is hit or miss and there are issues with the boxes. The initial setup was okay, but with all the boxes and hardware issues, it has been a pain.

I use Motive for elog compliance and tracking, managing our drivers' elogs and fuel receipts.

I like that it's an all in one platform, it combines a lot into one system. 
Fleet Tracking, Driver Logs, Dashcams and Safety Monitoring and Maintenance and fuel spend tracking. Making it less manual work and fewer systems to manage.

**What do you dislike about Motive?**

I don’t like that it glitches at the worst times—my ELD logs will freeze or won’t update right away. They also keep pushing updates and moving things around, which can really disrupt your workflow.

**What problems is Motive solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before switching from Nextraq to Motive, our operations relied on text messages to track drivers. We spent a lot of time double-checking logs and compliance. Since implementing Motive, we’ve been able to see truck locations, and automated ELD logs have also cut down errors and saved us several hours each week in admin work.
